I cooked a large pot of ground beef today with plans to cook and add pasta tomorrow for Sabbath dinner! I did it the same way without the cheese. I prefer the veggies a little chunkier and I added corn, carrots and red onion as well. TFS. ❤❤
I made it tonight for dinner, and we loved it! I did manage to locate the Grace's fish and meat sauce. You're right. It's just a teeny tiny bit of heat hardly noticeable. I love Jamacain food, but my stomach can't handle too much heat anymore. I followed the recipe almost exactly, but i omitted the scotch bonnet peppers and the cheese. It turned out perfectly!!! THANK YOU!!! 😊
Thank you tried to cook exactly the same but we don’t have the grace sauce and unsure if you get it easily in the states I’m just learning to cook Jamaican food for my husband so he can be more comfortable it came out so great despite not having the sauce hubby uses browning and I just used that instead I really hopes he likes it. Fingers crossed. Thanks again!
I did it that way because sometimes the salt in the seasonings can dry out the meat and make it steam instead of brown. But if you prefer you may season it before. Just do it more than 30 minutes before if preseasoning ❤️
@@JerenesEats thank you so very much. Will do. I have saved/shared quite a bit of your receiped to try now and in the future since I have subscribed about a year ago 🥰🥰
@Jerene's Eats Is Grace fish and meat sauce spicy? If it is, I'll just give up my search as I'm having trouble finding it, and stick to the alternative method u suggested. Or maybe i should put a bit less?
It was cooked to MY liking. I always recommend that when watching ANY cooking videos on TH-cam you use the videos as inspiration and then...season and cook the food to suit YOUR palate.
I laughed so hard when I heard “if you too bougee for ketchup …add crushed tomatoes from Italy” hilarious 🤣🤣🤣
🤣

Oh yes! Grace products are very easy to find in the states. I've bought it at Walmart before so it may be there. I think Publix too
Nostalgic 😊
making this tonight!
Very good
So yummy
Quick question queen. Can I season the beef in advance and then brown 🤔

@@trudiannross7676Appreciate you!
Can you please share where you bought the pot. Am loving it. Thanks in advance ☺
I bought it in store but you should be able to find it online. It's the Staub Braiser in black
@@JerenesEats thank you will be looking for it now
Way more presentable than how my mom made it when I was younger 😂
This is dinner tonight
Nice. Thanks for sharing. Do you wash your mince Jerene? I get a stew when I wash it as it starts making water so quickly
I rarely do. However, if you do wash it, you would have to squeeze and pat dry well so the meat can brown nicely.
@@JerenesEats thanks for the insight Jerene
you crushed the hell outta those vegetables lol
I diiid? Poor things 😆
Will the oxtail seasoning be okay to use no matter how I make this dish? Thanx for your help
Do you mean if you switch to a different protein? I'd do chicken/poultry seasoning
Is there anything i can use in place of the Grace fish and neat sauce?
Pickapeppa sauce, or just a bit more Worcestershire and ketchup

@Melanie C It has a teenie bit of tolerable heat. If you find it just give it a taste to see how much you'd like.
@@jgrayersqueen I've seen it st Walmart in the Caribbean section
@@JerenesEats Thank u so much! Your awesome 👌 👏
At 3:46 I did not hear or understand the name of the sauce Westchester or Worchester, could you please spell it for me.
Thank you ❤

I'm going to skip that scotch bonnet, but otherwise give it try.

Looks like you over cooked the meat
