Thanks for the tutorial! Twinmotion is great and easy to use, but there are somethings that could be better. The grass being one of them. It would be easier if you could apply 3d grass the same way you would apply a texture to an object.
Hi I have seen all your videos about twinmotion. Very good job. I figured out a few things. I was messing with the framing and so you can get 8K renderings if you set it to 7680x4320 or even higher is possible. Also the clouds are moving so if you go for a coffee it wont be the same when you are back.
HI, I have Mac, and the detailed grass edging tool, is on a separate folder than the grasses, and it will not let me paint? wont even let me drag into the tray at the bottom of the screen? any idea's
HI. Justin Thanks for the videos. How to control the layer names imported from SKP model. When it has been imported all the properly names layers from SKP turn into some randome names...
I cant wait for Twinmotion to have a better grass solution. This is still tons of work compared to their only competition. They need the ability to fill a material with meshes. Even when finished with the grass it looks like unkept grass. Also, some is still popping thru the concrete because the mesh they use for the grass is too large. Needs to be like 2 blades of grass per mesh or something.
How about a video on creating animations, developing smooth transitions, tips, tricks. There have been some wonderful videos posted, but nobody walks thru the creation.
@@TheRenderingEssentials As much as I want to swich to Twinmotion, this is the main thing that will make me stay with Lumion. Thanks for the answer and tour great videos! 💙
In TM 2020.2.2 you are not allowed to drop detail grass (lawn01 borders) into the vegetations paint tool. Why? The new vegetation scatter tool (to get nice borders) has to low density for a big surfaces! You have to click 100 times to get meadow! In Lumion it is one click to get a grass surface! I hope TM find a better and faster way to get grass surfaces.
Great tutorial.. I have this problem when importing my object that has fur in it.. I had made a model in sketchup made with fur proxy once i import it twinmotion didn't recognize it at all.. Thanks for the help
Switching from Lumion to TwinMotion, the grass is a pain, you can't just apply the 3d grass to a material, like in Lumion. thanks for the video, even if it is old. :)
@@-ver_211 I need to offload the rendering of videos, it locks up my machine for hours. Running at night is an option but that is also not ideal. To use a Rendering Farm I will have to purchase a second license from Lumion which will cost $3200. And if I want to get a second machine for my home to use as a dedicated rendering machine I am still looking at a second license fee. I like Lumion, and so far I am having a hard time replicating the level of quality in TwinMotion that I am getting in Lumion. But that might be due to my inexperience with TwinMotion. It boils down to cost really. Why Lumion doesn't go to a subscription based model is beyond me. They have downsides but cost isn't one of them.
The annoying thing is that if you tweak your base geometry and update, your grass disappears. Also it doesn’t always apply grass onto vertical surfaces which can be a useful way to show a planted wall.
I'm really enjoying the tip video. Can you post up rendering in twinmotion like a physical model?(MDF ,EXP...) model-like rendering is really needed.. (from korea)
Pretty sad to see that TwinMotion hasn't really gotten to the level of Lumion when it comes to easy placement of 3D grass. I absolutely love TwinMotion for interior renders and tight exterior shots. But for wide exteriors (commercial plazas and whatnot), it seems I'll be sticking with Lumion until TM addresses this. Especially since this video is 2 years old and is still the "easiest" way to do it in TM lol

Happy Friday everyone! Let me know if you have any questions in the comments below!
Anyone else not able drag the border material into the material pallet?
Can't make detail grasses work on TM 2021.1.2
great tutorial. but sadly TM is not allowing to drag and drop bordered grass into vegetation scatter. please suggest if any other way thanks

Yeah I agree with this - I think it makes a lot more sense for grass to get added as a texture - it's much easier to manage
@@TheRenderingEssentials It also seems like they removed the option to brush corner grass. Unless it's just glitched for me.

I turn my diameter to 1 or 0.5 to do the edges. Works well. Great tip by the way
Glad you liked it!
may i know the Twinmotion grass make could be make like Lumion "landscape"? thanks
I don't understand this question

Agree - I'd like to see them make this tool a bit better
Best Video on this topic. Even better than TM did on their page thank you.

I can probably do some more animation tutorials - thanks!
Thanks mate great video helped me out a lot. TM grass procedure is just rubbish
thank you sir! You're the best teacher!
How about applying grass material to a surfaces like in Lumion?
There's a material paint tool, but so far no grass directly from a material you apply

This was an odd change to me as well - the tool seemed to work better in the previous version
Great video!! very useful, could you make a video of photorealistic settings in twinmotion??
Twinmotion 2020.1 is a huge leap in that matter , try it
even more helpful than the epic games official tutorial vids, thanks a lot justin

Proxy objects don't work in external renderers (Lumion/twinmotion/D5).
awesome video , thank you

For some reason no, that doesn't seem to be working in 2020
thnx, helpful for sure
