Adding Jacket to Smash sounds like a great idea until you realise he'd just end up unhinging people's jaws with a claw hammer as a final smash
Or just going 8-bit topdown as he smashes the sprites' heads in, snaps their necks, gouges their eyes out, etc. But however Nintendo would censor like they did Joker.
Maybe you could even make it end quicker by mashing the netural button more. Or get bonus damage in by mashing a certain amount a la Bayo.
It's just REALLY not suitable for smash design wise

@@rompevuevitos222 Villager and Isabelle weren't suitable, and they were made to work. Could work kinda similar to Joker in moveset, and one of the Street Fighters or Little Mac in recovery and melee

Their design is perfect for Smash, Jacket's isn't
Smash is a game with kid's rating, with aesthetics and themes aimed at kids. Jacket is far from that rating
Even Joker's final smash was censored because it looked like the enemies where bleeding, despite only a shadow being visible. And remember that KoF NPC that was removed from the stages for being too exposed? despite being very easy to censor?
It's not just about hiding the mature content, it's about not "tainting" Smash with their feel
@@rompevuevitos222 Bayo's the same way. Her original game is M, she uses guns, summons demons, and wears her hair as a skin-tight jumpsuit bound by magical concentration. Yet they "kidified" her down into what we have in Smash.
Same with Tekken and Street Fighter. Sure, they're not as overt as Mortal Kombat, but they still have their moments of kid-unfriendliness.
I'm pretty sure the only thing preventing Jacket from having been in Smash in any regard is something along the lines of Hotline Miami not really being "good enough" for Smash. Or Sakurai not really even being aware of it. Because a lot of his demerits are present in other fighters.
The mere idea of Carpenter Brut music in Super Smash Bros. is too powerful for mortal minds to handle

Jackets neutral special is mask switching each mask as a benefit and weakness. Richard standard attacks
Tony stronger punches with knock back but jacket is vulnerable when attacking
Zack: faster jab attacks to maintain combo chain for longer
Earl: as you reach pass the hundreds of damage with earl on you get no knockback but only 2 strong hits is negated
Up taunt: pulling out a 80s brick phone
Side taunt: uses tape recorder saying do you know what time it is
Down taunt: pulls out baseball bat and swings
Down B can be a counter of sorts where he pulls out a mobster and used as a shield
Standard costume is his classic look, a biker themed costume, Alt colors can the fans color scheme, and the last one can be regular jacket but with the Phil mask as that mask doesn’t have a special property besides the game being translated to French

Jacket sitting on the chair in the dream room
Jacket driving in his delorean with the background being the result screen
Jacket at the store with a small cameo from beard

I think the down taunt should deal massive damage, but little knockback to knocked down opponents, just like an execution from the game. Maybe give it a cooldown after three hits.

Colonel: Snake. That "guy with a chicken mask" IS Jacket: The same man I told you about.
Snake: Well, do you know anything about him? He doesn't look like anyone I'd know.
Colonel: Jacket is a man, hailing from a world, known as "Hotline Miami". A world, set in Miami, Florida, if my memory is correct. In his world, multiple "chapters" take place, as he was seen committing countless acts of bloodshed and murder, all while taking on the identity of a handful of different "masks" gathered throughout his time spent. The mask you see, is none other than the "Richard's Mask". A mask worn by Jacket, most likely signaling the beginning of it all. Again, I could either be wrong.
Snake: It sure is a heck of a world he's from.
Colonel: If I had to give you some advice, just know this: Jacket has almost, if not, all of the masks at his disposal, so try to keep a record on what abilities each mask would potentially give him, because every mask, gives him a different ability.
Snake: Sounds like it'll be more to remember than that Shulk guy's Monado Arts.
Colonel: Indeed. Good luck Snake and try to make it out alive with anything you might be able to find out.
The Colonel forgot to tell Snake that Jacket was a soldier too and came from a world where the US lost an escalated cold war.

I think they'd stick closer to Dennaton's mute lunatic, since Jacket from PD2 is more than likely just an impersonator. Like Scarface.
@@Skorpeonismyrealname yeah I get that part, but with smash characters it's usually about more of the entertainment factor than being overly accurate to a given Canon. Even ignoring that, you could assume that a smash version is also a different character impersonating the og jacket

honestly, if jacket (miraculously, somehow) ended up in smash, i kinda hope we'd get a *tiny* bit of payday in there. at least just in the form of the tape recorder voice (even if its not the *same* voice/ripped lines from PD2)

If Jacket is able to join SSB
His trailer would be like, After beating all the Russians and his countles enemies. He drives off heading to his home and rest. He wokes up in a dream sequence just like in Hotline Miami. the three masked figures appear once again. Don Juan greets him a warm welcome while Rasmus still reminds Jacket that he will hate him once more for all Jacket's committed acts. Richard on the other hand ask him that someone or something would invite him to a fight club named "Smash Bros.". Jacket wakes up from his dream and heard a phone rings a voicemail message. He approached it and answers. Jacket was introduce in a voicemail a guy name Mr. Sakura and apologize for disturbing him for waking his day off. Jacket seems suspicious and left no response. Mr. Sakura asks him that there is a package waiting outside his door. Jacket then uncalls and immediately opens a door and seen the package. He opened it and turns out its only a one letter that has a Smash Bros logo. Jacket opens the letter and reads it until the end. Jacket immediately went down and drive his car off to the sunsent for his invite to Smash Bros.
Jacket in Smash is an idea that i now want.

It's a decent concept, and other Characters from M Rated Games are in Smash, namely Joker and Solid Snake, but I doubt we'd get Jacket for the same reason I doubt we'd get Scorpion/Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat. The fact of the matter is, Ultraviolence is very intrinsic to both the character and the game series they represent. At most we might get them as Mii fighter costumes, like Doomslayer, which would mean we likely wouldn't get music for them.
I'd love to be wrong tho, Jacket is a personal favorite character of mine and it'd be awesome to see him in a potential Smash 6
