To anyone that doesn't really understand how big this is, let me try to explain this as simply as possible. A video game character who travels to different iconic Disney movie universes in a collaboration you'd never see anywhere else..... Just became the last character to join Smash a Nintendo made video game with most ambitious video game character lineup of all time. It just makes sense. All of these characters coming together in a single game you'll probably never see again for a long time. From the Mushroom Kingdom to Hyrule to Minecraft to Green Hill Zone. All of these characters in one universe like how all of the Disney characters from kingdom hearts share a universe in their games. It's a celebration of collaboration.
@@speedphoenix9005 not really. It's big because Sora has been wanted in smash since melee days. Basically close to 20 years, I mean sure him being Disney is all cool and all but we know how much of a monopoly mongrel Disney is that sakurai went through all the hoops to get this character FOR US. That's how powerful this was. He went out with a bang on this
Insanse how Sora knows almost every Disney/Pixar universe and now he's able to travel to Spiral Mountain, Mementos, Mishima Dojo, Suzaku Castle, PAC-LAND, Dr. Willy's Castle, Dracula's castle, WarioWare, Inc. and The KOF stadium... Like shit this guy's is god-like he traveled not only on gaming multiverses also on cinema multiverses the amount of characters he has seen is insane...
You know, I’m not a fan of the series or character by any means, but hearing this in the trailer as he shook Mario’s hand almost made me tear up because I immediately thought of how happy he made people and how many people this game has brought together. Truly the greatest achievement in video game history.
Very true! I was personally satisfied to just see Joker from Persona 5 and Steve from Minecraft join the fight and their series be represented in Smash at all! I don’t care this music is not in Smash game, it’s still a perfect tone to announce Sora as the final DLC fighter. It’s truly a Disney magical experience. And Sora & Mario’s handshake was just wholesome.😭
@@chrisphelps4552 No Disney STILL has “soul” from the animators and creators working there. Disney still has magic and love and they can always make more Disney beautiful magic and films in the future but a lot of the times they are a tyrant when it comes to making money.
It's kind of poetic that Mario was featured so prominently in that trailer. Kingdom Hearts was inspired by Mario 64. Makes me wonder if they knew that and did that as a nod.
Not my original comment on it but seen on another video. But its also symbolic that Mario was the one to reach into the fire as it basically represents Nintendo going into the hellfire of licensing and legal agreements with Disney and Square Enix to put him in the game.
The cooler thing about Sora's reveal, is he wasn't invited with an invitation like with all DLC fighters, Mario summoned him by choice to come join Smash. And if you take that into thought, Sora truly is as special fighter, as it was Mario who chosen him to join the roster.
@@kylelacey1212 You mean it's not up to Disney, as they own the character, the series, and pretty much everything else for Kingdom Hearts that wasn't already created by Square Enix. But you are right, the song is owned by Hikaru Utada, thus not in the game.
The impossible has been achieved. A Disney property in Smash, after six long years. A true legal nightmare, finally defeated and turned into a dream. Welcome, Sora. Enjoy your stay.
This song is just perfect for the reveal. It captures the magic that Sora has, as well as the magic within that moment of the reveal. It also has a sense of a sombre, yet celebratory finale. The finale of Super Smash Brothers Ultimate
Nintendo and Disney bringing us magical stuff like this. It honestly made my day. Thank you Sakurai. The amount of people that just had a dream come true with this like dang. Snake, Sonic, Mario, Pac-Man, Sora, Joker. I don't think anyone ever thought Smash would get this big.
The key this song is in just tugs at your heartstrings given the sheer gravity and symbolism of Sora's addition. And that's coming from me; someone with no emotional stake in KH at all. This was the perfect choice. And the fact that his mere inclusion today was enough to drive fans to tears across the globe is enough to make me cry too.
It really does, everyone involved in dragging this kid into the absolute nonsense that is Smash knew what a miracle bringing him on was, and the way Simple and Clean is orchestrated here just... god its so heavy, this is the end... but it'll never end... a game made of impossibilities Time and again we've thought this and that was impossible for the series, from Sonic, to Snake, to Cloud, to Snake a second time, to half the fuckin DLC, to this boy, Disney's boy
I never had much of a care for competitive Smash. But after seeing this character, a character who I’ve grown up with be introduced as the final for the roster, I want to become one of, if not, the greatest Sora player in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. It’s time I finally commit to something that I truly love.
The lesson that Sakurai taught us this week is that, a dream is a wish your heart makes. Whether you’re awake or fast asleep. And that no matter how your heart may be grieving, IF you keep on believing, the dream that you wish will in fact come true. So thank you Sakurai.
@@choodle9729 No… Nomura writes Deus Ex Machina cliches just so that good always wins by saying “Your heart is everything”. If we put logic aside… Sora’s inclusion was just perfect because its proof that anything is possible if you just believe and hold true to your dreams.
Just like Super Mario 64 inspired Nomura to create Kingdom Hearts, Mario is the one who brings Sora in by forging the Keyblade and passing it to him. That was spectacular symbolism. Thank you very much Master Sakurai.
This was the most beautiful and magical trailer for Smash I’ve ever witnessed, and I could not be more happier for Kingdom Hearts fans across the globe.

I should point out that Sonic had more interaction with Disney through Wreck it Ralph prior to Mario shaking Sora's hand. Not trying to cause dispute on purpose, I'm just saying.
Yeah Disney ignores us fans pretty bad. Which is weird cause my friend went in Disneyland as Sora once and was getting called out all day. Such a great song. It's good Instrumental. I listen to it, rarely. I played one Kingdom hearts, wasn't my style, but I'm fairly certain my sister (God rest her soul) would have loved it. She was very much into Disney. She literally made Disney as part of her lifestyle. She played some video games, but just as a side hobby. Whenever she had time to kill.
I like to imagine that when Mario saw the Key Blade on fire for the first time, he knew what was going on and only he could "invite" Sora to Smash... but it would be extremely risky to without getting burnt to a crisp. That risk scenario is a metaphor of how Nintendo invited Disney and Square Enix to get Sora in Smash; *risky* But they did it! #ThankYouSakurai
I wasn't ready. It's not the nostalgia bomb. It was the reminder this was the first game I beat after my dad passed away before I transitioned to a 360 (before Halo Reach). The finale was so fucking hard for me because he and I would grind on Kingdom Hearts for gear and killing the big baddies. I still tear up a little bit seeing Sora come to this. 20 years of being known as a complicated-plot-weeb game with a strangely silent fan base now gets its biggest win that I'm happy to be apart of. Hats off to SquareEnix and Nintendo. I think it's time I bought a switch.
This character, this event, this whole spectacle means so much for so many different people. There's not anything more magical than this. Going through comments, seeing just what it means to each person who found this video. I still can't believe it's real.
Perfect choice of music for the final smash trailer, its so emotional and epic, I dont even play KH yet I could still feel the greatness of these collaboration (and I would say hearing such beautiful piece as my first exposure to KH is actually great, first time listening it and its already stuck in my head definitely going to check out more of KH soundtrack), that final trailer with game footage was beyond perfection.

Imagine if in World of Light, Sora is nowhere to be found or even unlocked. Instead you go fight Dharkon like normal, but nobody can beat him. That’s when Sora does what Sonic did to Tabbu, and he defeats him on his own, joining the roster during the final battle
Knowing this is the end of smash made me tear up, and especially since sakurai gave a farewell at the end. It’s been a great adventure Sakurai and I’m glad I was there to witness it.
I never played Kingdom Hearts, but I knew Sora was the most wanted character in Smash. I knew enough about KH to understand his importance.
Seeing so many people excited, Simple and Clean's orchestral cover, Sora's excitement over finally making it to Smash after so long, it honestly made me so happy.
I never played a KH’s game before in my life, and that’s because growing up all I had were Nintendo consoles so I honestly don’t share the feelings of what the KH fans are feeling.
However watching this reveal and listening to this instrumental brought back memories of when I was a kid seeing the first KH trailer I ever saw in my life and the feelings of joy and excitement I felt whenever I saw it even though it was a game I could never play.
Honestly I thought that mouse was never going to budge, but I’m glad they did. Congrats to the long time KH fans who’ve waited for this day
Please pick up a KH game, it’s honestly an amazing franchise I can’t explain how much the this meant to me from me being a little 11 yr old kid to almost 30 now, this is beyond words for me.
I tell you now, I never played a single kingdom hearts game in my childhood, but this trailer almost made me tear up for God sakes, they put their whole soul into the music
