I remember this is where fatigue started to set in. The game's not quite as good as the original, due in large part to the levels seeming to be much larger and longer and so I was kind of slogging through it. Started this mission, music just starts. Gun with dual SMGs. Ah goddamnit, more gunplay, this is gonna be tough. BASS IMPACT. Full-auto berserker-mode. Remember the lessons from the first game, throw caution to the wind and don't be afraid to die. Be aggressive. Kill. Did far better than any other level. Best level.
imagine bursting to a maffia's HQ like: Don't worry boss they wouldn't dare to attack here! Hmn... Perhaps, 50 gunman should take care of them if they do anyway... 4 dudes burst in guns blazing: SUP BICHIESSS!
This track can make EVERYTHING dramatic... Seriously, i played hacknet and when i first heard this... i was so pumped with adrenaline that i had to quit to menu serveral times because i just couldn't handle the relatively easy mission. Now i can always turn that on to set a time limit to something and create that tension
I had to quit to menu because I got the firewall pass wrong and because I had no shells *no time to waste, start the killing* - HM2, *no time to waste, start destroying this system* - Hacknet
My heart rate hit 205 sitting there typing away at a keyboard lol. It was definitely a "bust a** and do it fast" moment. Even if the tasks were easy you had to do them fast
Not hacknet related, but still good enough : On Warframe, in an Archon hunt's excavation mission, I switched this track on after listening to both M|O|O|N's Le Perv (first) and Carpenter Brut's (sencond). Roller Mobster made me rock on Narmer like I didn't think I would. This song reinforced an already strong "Both your and the entire system's destiny depends on this moment." vibe due to the difficulty. However! It also gave a "Yeah, you can do this! You ARE doing it!" vibe to it, as if I wouldn't lose. And I won that mission without going down/having to use Last Gasp after listening that tune. Carpenter Brut stan ftw
Doctor: You have 24 hours to live. Me: And if I take all the amphetamines in this bag ? Doctor: You'll have 31 minutes and 40 seconds to live Me: Worth it.
I love when music can make you feel somehing. The best thing a song can do is wake some feelings in you. It isn't important which feelings are they, so far as you can enjoy it. This song, along with the story of the game it is known for (Hotline Miami 2 - Death Wish), it makes me feel... Something special. For this feeling, that gives me goosebumps, I listen to this song over and over again and never have enough of it. Although, it makes me little bit sorry, one of the feelings that come with the music. But it only makes the obsession deeper. I hope someone understands to what I wrote, even though I don't really understand it...
Vojta Pilař When the level started, and the music hit , and I started shooting people with dual machine guns, that feeling was like ".......OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO YEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" PURE UNCUT ADRENALINE TESTOSTERONE. So yeah, I know what you mean man, although its hard to explain.
Vojta Pilař Well in that case this track suits perfectly with the situation in the game, so yeah when you go out of the elevator and the beats starts to drop... that's a damn good feeling...
Green Tea I never told that. I just wanted to express what I like about this song and why. You get here and start bitching around, thinking that you now got me and everybody who reads your comment. Think about it before you say something.
Just played it while trying to beat MAP07 on hard realism difficulty in brutal doom v21, instantly did a speedrun of MAP07 when beat dropped Edit: back after 11 months, just wanted to say that this track carried me through risk of rain 2.
I think the reason is because you are deleting all the hacknet files except yours, and it's a red line mission that needs its own standalone music. The idea that you are doing the last deeds of a dead mans hopes. It kinda is like June bug, in an emotional sense.

Kali Kali Are you serious? There is no way in hell you could possibly complete this level without cocking up at least once, unless of course you're God! And even then, there's very little chance of a flawless run.
Kali Kali I have no idea, somebody said something along the lines of "If you don't die, then the music won't loop badly". For some reason I thought it was you and the bullshit alarm did the rest. Because let's be honest. There is no way in hell anyone will ever complete this level in less time than it takes for the song to finish.
The technical term is a harmonic cadence. The melody drives the chord progression forward while more instruments are layered on top of it to make the chords fuller, which creates a sense of tension. What's the technical musical term for what happens at 5:10 up to 5:25ish
Just curious.
I'm gonna go with "a build-up"
Bridge?
it feels quite similar to a solo
The technical term is a harmonic cadence. The melody drives the chord progression forward while more instruments are layered on top of it to make the chords fuller, which creates a sense of tension. This tension is fully released at 5:25 so that a new tension may be created in the next section. It's essentially a "build up," but that term is somewhat of a colloquialism.
My favorite is right in 1:21
