i know it's cliche to say... but i sooo miss the 90s. i was 18 when this came out and was going to britpop clubs at the time. was seriously the best of times
I am very lucky to have had this very experience. 35 now. I haven't listened to the song in a good year or so at least - all the smells and colours and feels i was experiencing then came back as I listened. Amazing. Great to see the song is still sharing it's awesomeness!!!
I'm fifteen and discovered this song a few months ago, during quarantine... things are still weird bc of coronavirus, and listening to this song gives me sometimes hope for an interesting future, and sometimes makes me really nostalgic for memories that I don't even have. Anyway, I hope this all gets better, but rn im really glad I found this masterpiece, and some other really good alternative 90s music.
I'm 13 years old and I like some of their songs and Tim Wheeler liked my comment and then I commented back saying about myself because I was so excited and I told him that my mum thought this music video was by the wiggles and then he replied that he didn't realise that they had so many smaliaties to the wiggles 😂 FYI: This was on Instagram
Whoever you are, I hope you have an amazing life! I first listened to song in 1997 when I was 15. I’m now 38 and I hope you enjoy life as much as I have. Peace ✌️
In 96 I saw them in Berlin with my girl friend and after that I thought of her as my girl from Mars. She left for Mars a long time ago but when I hear this Song I am back there and I remember the time and I think: I still love you my girl from Mars.
Its the summer of 1995, Chris Evans is doing the breakfast show on radio 1. I awake to this track swaggering out of my £5 tanyo clock-radio straight into my heart. Ive not heard it for many years, but i know all the words by heart, every turn of the melody, every note of the guitar break are fresh in my mind, levered from whatever little used synaptic pathway that harboured them, hidden, but never forgotten all this time. The 90s was it friends; the pinnacle of this civilization.
This song is one of those you hear for the first time and it feels like you known it your whole life. Almost Déjà vu. Feeders High and Supergrass Caught by the Fuzz also gave me the same feeling on first listen.
Await with yet, I was born, bread in northern Ireland. Your voice is our voice. Beautiful, incredibly beautiful. Thank you for the madness and everything that comes with it xxxx
Such a cool song. I remember it from 1995, I was on a family holiday my cousins and aunties in Northern Ireland. I remember seeing it on MTV in Enniskillen in our holiday chalet. Everyone was flocking there on holidays due to the ceasefire and the lovely weather we had that summer here in Ireland.

I mind seeing the band back in the 90's. They always stick out as they were one of the loudest live acts I ever heard!. Loved that 1977 album, played it to death at the time!.
32 very soon, and going through a 90s music renaissance of sorts since pandemic. Just discovered this today!! Love it. Looked up related songs to The Wannadies having just watched Romeo and Juliet (1996) for the first time, haha.
Tim Wheeler, Mark Hamilton and RickMcMurray where a trio known as Ash, when they released this Dylan-esque pop, bubblegum favourite which reached No.11 in august 1995. K-Billy's super-sounds of the 70s just keeps on....truckin.
