When Tray Dee wifey said he's not lying to you...she wasnt lying when she said that. I remember me & the homies was chilling on the block in Upland CA...it was like 7-9 of us....Tray Dee rolled right by us...MAD DOGGED us for no reason 😂...dry jerry curl flowing in the wind with a white T, music blasting out the trunk. We didnt even tripped that he mean mugged us...we was lowkey star struck & was in awe that he even acknowledged us lol....this was like 20 something yrs ago tho...but I remember it like it waz yesterday.
Tray Deee definitely has a unique voice. Surprised Dr Dre hasn't locked him in a studio full time yet, considering how important he thinks voices are in general
This album and duces and treyz I been banging my whole childhood until now I'm 37 now 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 this my go too when I need to harden the f up sometimes lol 😅
When Crooked is talking about what makes it so special bc it made the section come together…from a fan standpoint what makes these collaborations so special from the Snoop camp is you get to hear from everyone that snoop brought out…when they were discussing the chronic album and how each artist held their own it introduced us to someone we could follow…and to have all these artist still be together on each others albums just makes me a s fan excited and in tuned to keep rolling with this group…I haven’t heard from soopafly for awhile but to know he still has production credits is exciting….to hear the lady of rage and rbx on the last dogg pound album and to see everyone from the dogg pound family tree the twins Warren g soopafly rbx that we don’t hear from a lot makes us happy…no other group has kept the longevity and togetherness like the dogg pound family tree….RIP to Nate dogg, Bad Azz, Slip Capone, Big Pimpin….also to hear Butch Cassidy too again on the new Eastside album is beautiful too…to see big c style in pics with snoop…we miss doggy’s angels but glad Yak and Deee are together…E-white and Lil C style were 2 of my favorite rappers too
One of my all-time favorite westcoast LPs (top5)!!! I luv the whole "crip-hop" era!!! Lyrics, beats, flava, all was perfect!!! Above all- Tray Deee is one of the dopest MCs!!! Luv this album till i die!!! Greetings from germany! LBC 4 Life!!!
That first Eastsidaz album is a CLASSIC i still bang that album front to back. Production and lyrics hit on all fronts and im from Chicago and i was telling all my guys hey this is the business. So glad you did a video for this album.
Man I had to come back and leave another comment on the East siderz cause damn it that new shit they just dropped tonight that hood been good is 🔥🔥 and the other 2!! Mini movie s/o to y’all still making that hard shit to this day!! 🫡💪🏿💪🏿
S/O to The Eastsidaz, I said all the time Tray Dee was the hardest one, fav songs was LBC Thang, G'd Up, Be Thankful, Got Beef and Another Day #classic
Pls do the following albums next: Warren G - Regulate the G funk era Snoop - Tha Doggfather Ice Cube - Death Certificate NWA - Efil4zaggin Nas - It Was Written Tupac - All Eyez on Me
That Dogghouse label could've been special with Doggys Angels, Tha Eastsidaz, Snoop, Bad Azz, and you add in Warren, Kokane, Nate Dogg, RBX, Lady Of Rage, Lil 1/2 Dead, Tha Twinz, Soopafly, and RBX . Dogg House / Doggystyle could've been bigger than any label.
I have been a fan of Tray D since I heard 21 Jumpstreet off the Murder Was the Case soundtrack. When he said “No snitches allowed, beside the crowd…”, I knew he was serious business. Then I heard him on features like Out The Moon off Gridlocked soundtrack, and then my favourite verse of him was “OG Wake Up” off The Doggfather. His 2nd verse was monumental: “I break fools off like leprosy/ If they dare, you stare when they next to me/ I'mma threat / to whoever sweat my style Hard gangsta aim to represent 'til death/ Reality, you battle me you be in the dirt quick/ I'm clever with whatever type of weapon I work with/ The bare hand man sleeper/ I even banked up and shank motherfuckers in the peeper/“ What a lyricist. Then when this Eastsidaz album dropped in 2000, I played it till my CD melted. My favorite jam off the album is “Ghetto”. When Tray D cited Rakim as an influence I can see it. Tray is fantastic with the double entredes and rhyme schemes
Fucc yeah! Don’t know what took y’all so long 💯 album was 🔥 now do Suga Free first album and Xzibit’s Restless. Then maybe UGKs Ridin Dirty and Scarface’s The Untouchable
The beats alone make this a classic. It was just a different type of G funk this is definitely Tray Dees album he went tf off every time he showed up. My all time favorite Tray verse on Nigga 4 Life he lit that shit tf uuuuuuup!
I’m from Philly, and I still bang that Eastsidaz! G’d Up! Is a BANGER! I luv it! Got Beef? (Pause) Back to ‘85! Man listen…”We can scrap or slap a clip if you want it to crack!”
Their debut + Sophomore are in my favorite collection. Been a fan since 21 Jump Street track. The intro was from Doggy's Angel album Wasn't Crook an original Eastsiders?
I been a huge fan of Tray Deee since 21 jumpstreet. This is the first I ever heard of his "This is the Life I Lead" solo album produced by Daz and Soopafly. I'd love to hear more about it. How many songs were recorded? Does he have those songs? Will he release them?
classic album that still gets play from me.

Maaaan Another Day is that joint the harmonies right before Tray snaps is just perfection!
Tracy Davis was a PROBLEM on this album!! Love from the South
I appreciate how Crook broke down Tray Dee's lyrical style with them 223's! Bars & syllables and like he says reading makes a great lyricist!
