Not sure it's a winning strategy to insult people who are watching someone in their declining years and also watching the polls and seeing that the odds of beating a felonious fascist and convicted fraud is essential a coin toss.
If it's a tight race, then it would seem to me we want to encourage and engage not only everyone who is supporting us, but also seek ways to bring in MORE people, those undecideds who will be essential for winning those swing states.
Brow beating people who are asking legit questions about whether Biden is our best option is NOT a winning orientation.
This isn't about Biden. It's about democracy. And he just said the other day that he would only drop out if pollsters told him he had NO CHANCE of winning. So we're supposed to be okay with this guy staying in the race if his chances are 20%? 30%? 40%??? 50%???
Why not face reality (which includes aging, which is not a sin or a shame), ask Biden to step aside and bless the next generation of leaders now? It would excite the nation and be a powerful demonstration of a peaceful transfer of power (huge contrast, right?) and a huge demonstration of faith in democracy and in the American people to lead.
That, to my way of thinking, would be a powerful way to defeat and repudiate Trump and Trumpism in a landslide in Nov. Picture 400+ electoral votes and 60+% the popular vote. We would have a new generation in the White House and, likely, control of both houses as well.
We could enact probably all of Biden's agenda and more. Maybe get rid of the filibuster, get the wealthy to pay more into Social Security, and continue the work Biden started four years ago.
And we would have Biden to thank for it, and he would be remembered with great fondness from here on.

"The media" is simply expressing what most Americans are saying, that there is grave concern about Biden's ability to win in November. Most of us know this is an existential moment for democracy. This isn't just about age, but it's one of the big issues that concerns people most. It is essential, imo, that democracy prevails in Nov. Biden MAY win, but I don't think that's good enough at this point.
The R candidate is a felonious fascist and convicted fraud, and we should be beating him in the polls by 30+ points right now. The fact that this is a close race at all is a testament to the fact that Biden has been unable to persuade enough Americans to see the benefits of his perspective. He has done a lot, absolutely, and I'm greatly appreciative of what he's done.
But in the same way Moses didn't make it to the promised land and a starting pitcher doesn't always make it through the whole game, democracy is a team/community effort, and doesn't depend on any one person to succeed. I think we could win in a landslide in Nov if we can open this thing up to a democratic process. I think that'd be a good way to express our support for democracy itself.

Yes, we knew he was 82. But we did not know he was seemingly incapable of crafting the anti-Trump message which is required to win this election. Elections are about policies, but also about the communication of those policies. Biden had a 90-minute debate and a half-hour interview, and did not mention Project 2025 once. He is simply not fit to fight Donald Trump on the electoral battlefield, and the polls bare that out.

Who is this "we" of whom you write? In 2008, 2016 and 2020, 38 million, 31 million and 36 million Democrats voted. This year, a grand total of 16 million. Not a very big "we", is it, considering more Republicans voted for Trump and Biden needs five times 16 million to win in November.
That's the problem. We have no idea if Biden can win, and we're not talking Eisenhower/Stevenson, JFK/Nixon, or Carter/Ford this time, where we knew that the country was likely to survive intact regardless of which candidate came out on top.

Biden's response to questions about foreign policy were really impressive. I really don’t believe anyone has underestimated Joe Biden. If anything we expected far to much. Years ago during the primary we had a long list of stellar Democrat candidates along with Joe. Our Democrat party leadership pushed Joe ahead of all and he became our candidate who defeated Trump. In meetings that we had I asked why we are leading towards Joe so much and I was advised that Joe is the easiest to get elected. Our leadership was correct.

Our progressive media has said even most recently that Americans would not vote for Kamala Harris because we are a racist country.
