During a guitar lesson, my teacher made me play random notes in C to this jam track. I got all sweaty and was unsure of what to play and how to play and it sounded horrible. A week later, I’m jamming amazingly to this video and I can’t wait to show my guitar teacher what I can do. Thank you so much for making this video ❤️
Wow what a trip to find this! We all at the same point on the guitar journey. Sounds like we have good teachers! Never felt that feeling before, because I never expressed myself in that way. Interesting how this has formed a bond with the guitar.
Just playing the c major scale with this makes me cry tears of joy. It’s almost communicating a feeling of some nostalgia that can’t be described in words
Isn't that the best though? It's like you surprise yourself and realize you're reaching your goals. I remember as a teenager wanting to be able to play like my guitar heroes of the day and when you pull stuff off that sounds amazing it's such an emotional thing. Congrats man.
Guys. Oh my. I am relatively new at guitar. I’ve been playing for two years now and tonight I spent two hours on c major scales straight. I put it all together here. IT ALL MAKES SENCE!!! the feeling of freedom I felt when I k ew where the note I wanted was and it came right out.
i started playing guitar 3 weeks ago, i have a keen ear for music so id like to say i've learned a lot super quick and today i learned the C major scale and the guy i was watching said throw on a backing track and just "play". so i did. it sounded dog shit at first but then i started to understand what sounded good and what didnt and i ended up really enjoying whatever shit i had just played 😂 thank you!
I never liked playing chords on guitar after years I realized I feel I want to play like solo guitarists do, and I'm totally beginner but this song is incredible, I just improvising and learning the strings how do they sound, and this is insanely effective, I just can't stop, hours are go by, awesome feeling, thank you for creating this music!!!!!!!!!!!
Pure soloing is boring. If you want to be a good guitarist you have to learn how to blend chords with licks. No one wants to hear boring guitar solos for an hour
BB King never played many chords at all though he did arppegiate , he mostly played call and response style . If you are not a fan of chords , try learning triads , you are still.playing chords but you,ll find them a lot easier , and they are all over the neck , the secret sauce 👌
Never improvised over a track before; only ever learned songs thus far. Tried to improvise solos without a track with little success. Noticed a marked improvement in a few hours playing over this, experimenting with different transitions around the fretboard. The on screen Ionian diagram is immensely helpful. Wish I had found something like this years ago.
I'm not sure why, but for whatever reason this particular track helped my brain click the way Aeolian and Ionian work together. I've always danced a bit in between the two but never really understood why it worked together haha. Thanks for the Jam brother!
This is without a doubt one of the best backing tracks I've found! LOVE IT! Is great, feels awesome to play along, and sounds beautiful! Thank you very much for sharing it
Big fan. As a new guitarist, I really enjoyed the backing track. The visual of the notes is perfect for me. I can just go up and down the scale to 'fake' soloing at a slow pace. Thanks
Learning to play chromatic harmonica ( have been playing diatonic for a couple of years). This track is a good one to practice with. Gives me practice changing notes smoothly. Thanks for a great track!
Thank you very much for this! Really reminds me of 'St. Patricks Day' by John Mayer. Gives me that winter-feeling. Really lifts your spirits playing over.
Yeah, 100%. I get that he needs to make some cheese, but I’m looking for other jam track options at this point. Ads at the beginning or end are cool, but not throughout the entire jam.
Thank you for putting up this absolutely gorgeous Jam track. I've only been playing guitar for 10 months. I've taught myself the diatonic and pentatonic scales and I can play up and down the fretboard to this thing all day. I can't wait to try this at open mic. Danke schoen.
I just bought the full Elevated Discography (Parts 1, 2 & 3) & they are FANTASTIC! Thank you so much for the creative & professionally produced backing tracks. I look forward to hearing more of your work in the future.
ethereal... totally dig this one, man! i closed my eyes & pretended that Sade (and her badass band) were right here w/ me in my groovy, little den! schweetness, dude ;-)) thanks ever so much!!
Been learning the major scale in music college recently and how to play solos with it and this is one of the best backing tracks I’ve come across so far
do u seriously learn the major scale in music school? im not tryna boast but it took me 2 days to learn all the modes to it at 13 like are you not taught something actually advanced?
Just started learning theory after playing for ~10 years and have been practicing scales over this. When I sleep, I can only hear this backing track haha. nice work!
If any of you guys struggling to get C major to work over the entirety of this, it’s not your fault. It’s because much of this isn’t diatonic to C major. The A7b13 (which is labeled here as A7addF) is blatant D harmonic minor tonality. [edit: So over this section, play a D harmonic minor scale.] Gm6-C13-Fmaj7 is ii-V-I in F major. So play in F, not C, over that part. [edit: over this section, play an F major scale.] And the G# is mislabeled. Labeling it as Ab is much less confusing because it’s borrowing from C minor which has a G note in it.. not G#... (although it does have Ab). [edit: over this single chord, play a Cm scale.] And that should fix all the scale clashing you might be experiencing! [edits are prompted by possible ambiguity I discovered after some comments below.]
now i know why people say put a track on and give it ago... to hear my note choices soloing over this that does keep up with changes is the reason why as beginner i keep going. lol..i can only marvel at peoples talent playing any instrument. it is not easy lol... many thanks .
This chord progressing is very cool! I've actually been playing the chords (after learning many of those) more than leading over this. Great work! Subscribed!
Man, This backing track unlocked my potential, i never played guitar before, while listening then booom i can play now on a pro level. Lol. Love your work EJT! God bless u

is there a way to see the chord progressions for all those tracks if bought?
The video says Gm7 but the chart says Gm6. Which is correct?

Omg same!!
Ome saem
yesss it’s so intimidating when ur teacher just asks u to improvise for the first time as if it’s that easy
Wow what a trip to find this! We all at the same point on the guitar journey. Sounds like we have good teachers! Never felt that feeling before, because I never expressed myself in that way. Interesting how this has formed a bond with the guitar.
Your comment just gave me the confidence to try soloing on this even though I have never tried it before. I HAD A BLAST!! 😊😊 thanks my friend

I literally cried doing my first soloing that actually sounded good with this track. Thanks man!

This song is just wonderful I cannot tell you how much I appreciate it it goes right along with being locked in. The best 11 minutes of my day

I am fairly new at the harmonica and I find it easier to learn playing along with this track. Thank you very much, from Chicago
Every add that comes on takes me out of the zone so hard.
Been using this track 5-6x a week to learn improving over chord changes, thanks a ton

Love how an add comes on a couple minutes after starting.. love jamming to adds.
Beautiful chords and perfect tempo for me as I’m just learning. Thanks!
Learning to play chromatic harmonica ( have been playing diatonic for a couple of years). This track is a good one to practice with. Gives me practice changing notes smoothly. Thanks for a great track!
So good, addicted to playing with these now.
This is my first time to feel that i can play solo, you are great!
Thank you very much for this! Really reminds me of 'St. Patricks Day' by John Mayer. Gives me that winter-feeling. Really lifts your spirits playing over.
One of the best for practicing the major scale I must say
EASILY the best backing track on youtube...
It's got blues, it's got jazz.... Thanks
bro puts an ad in the middle🤣
Yeah, 100%. I get that he needs to make some cheese, but I’m looking for other jam track options at this point. Ads at the beginning or end are cool, but not throughout the entire jam.
Did you like the track?
lol gottem
no cus fr i was cooking in the middle of my solo comes a liberty mutual ad
I think he removed the ad - never had an ad and playing that song recently quite frequently
Wondeful chords to play with keep rockin master of music
I was improvising and accidentaly played fly me to the moon
Just had a fantastic solo-ing experience with this track. I was starting with some R&B licks, and it just took me a whole other place. Thanks.
SAME!!!!
Probably the best track I’ve ever jammed to

This was so helpful! Thanks, man.
Because the presenter throws in a C Major 7th chord now and then I think just playing a "B" note works well too.
@@fredworthmn Yes, you're right that works, especially since B is the 7th in Cmaj7 (C E G B)
Thanks for the book.
@@AtlanticMarshall You're welcome
This was the first jam track that I connected with! Going to buy!
LOVE THIS TRACK. really really wonderful, awesome. Whatever word you want to use. Just great

i can feel that g sharp in my soul - perfect for mixolydian
I can't believe there's ads in the middle of these backing tracks
The remedy to the ad in the middle is get adblock. It is worth not having the interruptions
can't wait to go home and solo over this ooooooooooooooooooo im excited
Panatonic scale on this song is phenomenale
Nice, love having an Ad right in the middle of a backing track/song
I just close my eyes and play😌 so peaceful
OMG that G# is the icing on the cake

A Pentatonic Minor. Super Track. Thx so much.
This is so beautiful
This track is literally taking me from one level to the next!
Holy shit this scale just sounds so good at my current speed. Thank God I found this
thanks to you i'll practice the c major scale on a perfect playback, thanks so mutch, pentatonic is not enough for an entire life ^^
I'm just vibing to this man, so fun soloing over this 👏
beautiful track !!! i wish it were longer
I am a beginner, just playing with basic notes but this is so fun to play with!
Thanks a bunch without a doubt one of my favorites
Word of Trouble - Eric Johnson inspiration
That's not where I got the inspiration my friend but I can see the similarity!
I still got the blues
Amazing backing track, I loved this
The most beautiful backing track I've ever heard!
been playing my C harmonica with your song! it's been really helping me forget about the world and just be one with the music!! love it!!!
I REALLY like that G# in the B-Section. MMMM i love how that G# pentatonic fits with a C-Maj Blues
E Phrygian (E, F, G, A, B, C, D) works really good over this progression. As well as A natural minor and C major.
spectacular! so comfy!!
It reminds of 'Any colour you like' but with a more melancholic vibe
Of all the backing tracks dis is now my fav 😂💯
Sweet! Try these chord names: Dm7, G13, CM7, A7#5, Dm7, G13, CM7, Gm6, (Gm6 add C on top "Gm6sus4") FM7, G#Maj, CM7, A7, Dm7, G13, CM7
You should call the G#maj an Ab
It's an G6 not G13
Sorry, I looked it over. It's the same G6 or G13.
Thank you!!! This so fun to play with
Love your backing tracks...Best out there👌
Excellent Track
Perfect Backtracking!!!! tks a lot !!!!
hey ! thank you so much my friend
I love it !!! Amazing backing track !
diggin the gary moore vibe 😎
Wow, Just Beatiful
Great play along. New strings. LP Studio
