Hi, II V I it's a tipical chord progression. In this case: C= 1 D = 2 and G = 5
( 6 =A) I suggest to see some videos about 2 5 1

It's called a secondary dominant -- A7 is indeed not "in the key", but it works because it's the V of the next chord (D minor). You can precede any minor chord with that chord's V, even if that V is not in the key. For example, C - E7 - Am.
The roman numerals could be written as ii V I VI or ii V I V/ii -- the slash in the second one means secondary dominant of ii.
