Interesting ball comparison Val. Great job as usual explaining whats happening on the lanes, targeting and foot position etc. Love the way you get so many details in your explanation.

Misses inside twice, then says that area feels comfy! 😜
I appreciate you saying your target and if you hit it or miss it regardless of the result.
I also like your habit of checking where your feet are at. I don't do that enough, your videos helping me remind myself to check. I am finding I drift different ways depending on if I'm throwing out, vs throwing more straight. Intereessttting.

lol I was super lined up in practice 😉 I should have kept moving right! By the time I finished with this review then the NUs (coming this Sunday), I had to keep progressively moving right.
Looking at where I slide has most definitely become a very good, unconscious habit. I like to keep the drift between 3-5 boards. anything more than that, I'm not as accurate & consistent. I also drift more or less depending on the part of the lane I'm playing!

Boy oh boy I love the purple hammer. I can use it on anything (except like desert conditions). I have the 16 pound, which gives me, 6 or 7 inches of flair because it has double the inter diff as the 15. It was my first 10 pin ball too. I threw 5 pin for 35 years, I was bummed out that there wasn't any 5 pin youtube creators. Thinking about doing it and watching what was avaliable, I came across a Brunsnick video and he was holding the most beautiful ball I'd ever seen, The purple hammer. So I bought it, never gone 10 pin bowling ever. 7 months later, I placed 9th at a tournament. My arsenal has grown, but purple is the first ball I always throw.

What a story! I went 5 pin bowling a few times as a kid when I lived in Canada, but because I had been bowling 10 pin since I was almost 3, I never quite liked/got the hang of 5 pin. It was sooooo hard.
      Do you still do both?

@@bowlwithVALue I practice 10 pin on cheap Tuesdays (when league is over and there is no more discount). I'll practice 5 pin on Fridays. In 10 pin, I do a 3 step approach like in 5 pin, but a video I found by JR Raymond showed the most efficient way to do a 3 step in 10 pin. I tried a 4 or 5 step, but I'm so ingrained in a 3 step, I end up tripping over my own feet. Although, dipping my toe into 2 handed, I can do a 6 or 7 step with a hop, no problem. I'm also bad at utilizing my balance arm and torso hinge in 10 pin, going back to 5 pin kind of centers me as to what I should be doing. I've now converted my 5 pin team mates to 10 pin, so I'm also coaching them, while still cementing my hand and arm movements. Also calming my brain down as it freaks out that we're aiming at the 6 pin from board 30.10 pin is just a different beast!

I can see how your approach would have to be different. They're really 2 entirely different games....it's cool you're learning so much about 10 pin bowling and influencing your friends to join you!

Could you please do a review on Hammer Scorpion low flare compared with Hammer Scorpion Strike please.

I think the new Scorpion Strike would be very similar to the Scorpion Sting not the LF.

I probably should add a purple hammer. I used to have one when I rolled 16 lbs. I have the black widow pink urethane, Double Cross urethane, and Black Pearl. I am pretty sure it would slot between the black and the double cross.

Wow, you have a lot of them already! The purple urethane is the most unique urethane reaction I've seen. and I think you're onto something - it would likely fill a gap.

the harder the surface (e.g. 78D) the less likely to pick up on the friction because it is not gripping the lane as much, creating a smaller footprint. In short: the harder the ball the straighter it will be.

    layout?

    • @bowlwithVALue
      @bowlwithVALue  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      60x4x35 on both
My typical layout on reactive is 65x4.75x35 , so my husband drilled these to roll just slightly earlier and to have a higher hook potential.
