Great video! It's really hard to see a huge difference between the two sometimes. I think that a lot of people will benefit from watching and choosing the one that fits their game a little better. I would never know what the difference and the amount of difference would be without videos like these! Thanks!
Such a sweet comment. Thanks Joe! These help me keep going when *stuff* hits the fan and it would be so easy to just skip a week or 2....but we persist :)
So glad you reviewed both of the NU balls. I have the Hammer Blue NU and just won a Rattler NU so very interested to see the differences and similarities. Enjoyed your review and happy to see that there are some differences. Thank you.
I hated my blue nu at first but after some games and seeing what it could and couldn't do I love it for my medium house pattern and my speed dominant style.
This is great, thank you! I look forward to the Urethanes vs NUs. I would have been interested to see you throw one of your favorite strong balls ("benchmark ball") during these short pattern, urethane-ish comparisons, just to see how the oil pattern is playing for you with a strong ball, how much it overhooks, to compare to these. I think that helps me understand the different motion and movement of the balls, since we likely throw the balls differently, I might be able to judge the relative difference from you throwing your benchmark. Just an idea. Still a useful video though as is. I have the original Rattler, love it as my go to house shot ball. I was sad to see it discontinued, then pearl, now NU. It's going through the motions!
Thanks again for your comment! I thought the same thing about throwing reactive. Definitely another video in the future :) It's tough because I want to keep these videos short and digestible, so I try not to put too much in them. The 6 ball comparison was a lot and I only threw 1-2 shots with each ball lol
I have both the NU Blue and Rattler NU, and the Blue is a feet longer and stronger down lane. The Rattler is earlier and smoother overall. I’d call the NU Blue a smoother reactive shaped skid snap ball. And the Rattler NU more of a urethane shape with more punch.
I thought my husband (editor of the videos) just forgot to put them on but he said he didn't and it's a strategy haha I drilled it just slightly different than my typical layout -- 60 x 4 x 35
How close is the Hammer NU to t he Purple Hammer? I love the Purple, but when it starts leaving 10 pins, would the NU be a good choice, or is the Rattler NU the better choice?
I will have the 4 ball comparison out this Sunday :) not sure I would have answered your question in the video...so I'll do it now - I think the blue NU is a great compliment to the black pearl and the rattler NU is a great compliment to the Purple. Hopefully you see why on Sunday!
I’m curious as to what layout you have on the NU Rattler? I too am working on rolling the ball more and am seeing higher tracks now. I don’t like urethanes and am considering a NU ball. Luke Rosdahl likes the Rattler so I’m leaning towards that one…
🙌 yay! That was my hope before I started the channel -- to connect more with those who throw with 1 hand and who don't have crazy high rev rates and ball speeds.
What are your spec's is that what they call it. Like tilt, rotation, rpm? I have higher tilt 20 degrees and rotation lower. Im steuggling on what balls i should be looking for
I wish I knew exactly, Steph! I am going to try to get on Specto and get all the stats ASAP. I would say I now have 7-10 degrees of tilt, 40-45 degrees of rotation and maybe 300 RPM. What do you feel you usually struggle with when you're bowling? Not enough hook out of your balls? Flat 10s? Having to open angles?

Thank you!! I thought they were significantly different, so it's great that you can have both and use them!
Love your videos, Val!
Thank you so much!

I can see that! I would probably hit mine with surface the more I bowl with it. It has shined up quite a bit since I started with it.

I know that they aren't available yet, but I would love to see you test the Atlas, Vaporize, and Mesmerize!

love that description! I would agree with that.
Hey Valerie great video again where did you place the pin on each ball I didn't quite see it. JIM
Great question. just slightly different than my usual layout -- 60 x 4 x 35
@@bowlwithVALue pin above the Bridge? Or?
@@JSBowling2011 Still pin up, but the 4" brings the pin a little closer to my axis, so it falls just to the right of my ring finger.
@@bowlwithVALue okay thank you Valerie that's what I want to know I appreciate the info. Jim
Of course. Thanks for the comments and questions, as always, Jim!
just curious why you dont share the layouts on these balls?

@@bowlwithVALue thank you for your honest answer, and I always look forward to your videos! Keep up the great work!
Aww, yay, thanks so much! Comments like yours are what keep me motivated to keep putting time and effort into these videos each week.
Were both balls at box surface when you started?
Yes - brand new out of the box. hadn't thrown any shots with them prior to recording the video.

@@bowlwithVALue Thank you! I enjoy watching your videos because it looks like you and I roll it similarly.

When this NU technology came out I instantly thought a performance house ball
that's amazing! I had no idea what to expect, but I would have to agree- it's a great house shot ball.
