    I just had a microdiscectomy last Tuesday 6 days ago. I’ve got a bit of back pain from the incision, but ZERO nerve pain. This surgery has been a godsend for me. I’ve delt with severe back pain since NOVEMBER, once I heal I’m back to normal I’m super excited to get back to backpacking, rock climbing, swimming, running 👍🏼

      @@bedbackandbeyond I'm 10 months in of back pain. I found out I have a disc buldge at L5 s1 I've tried physical therapy, chiropractor, decompression exercises, deep tissue massages, medicine, etc nothing helps. I got a steroid injection 1 week ago I'm waiting to see if it will kick in within the next week to relieve me of pain. My doc said if it helps with the pain surgery will help the pain go away. I have ONLY BACK PAIN on my left side when I sit not when I walk or stand I have no leg pain (Sciatica). Has your BACK pain went all the way away after surgery? Also did u have leg or back pain b4 surgery or both 🤔 I'm going to see my doctor in 2 weeks and ask will a microdiscectomy help with my back pain.

      @@freestylebully4849 Hi! Sorry that you are in pain. Mine started out as pain in just the butt, then moved to my back and then finally down my back/butt/leg. Surgery got rid of all of my pain. I still have a little bit of numbness down my leg and a slight tingling in my foot. But I only notice that occasionally. Surgery wasn’t easy but it was the best decision for me. And time has just flown by! I can’t believe I can say my surgery was three years ago! Keep me posted!

    I had the same experience.

    Only 4% of all back surgeries since the very beginning, needed to have surgery done.
    I was completely misdiagnosed (twice) by one of the best neurosurgeons in the Midwest.

    Hey I had gone through microdisectnomy last month due to herinated disc at L4-L5 level..... although my 90% pain is gone but I'm still feeling sciatica pain at buttocks and leg ...is it normal ? Will it disappear with time? Plzz reply I'm 23 year old

    • @bedbackandbeyond
      @bedbackandbeyond  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi! Sorry you’re dealing with this so long! It can be normal. It might be post surgery inflammation, which you could get some prescription anti-inflammatory meds for, OR it could be that your body is just used to being in pain and will need to be reprogrammed with therapy. Everyone has different experiences, but I would highly recommend talking to your doctor if you are concerned. I needed the post surgery anti-inflammation meds about two weeks after surgery because the pain came back, but they helped. Feel better!

    How are you doing? I need to have the same surgery but am terrified. More so of the general anesthesia. Did you have anxiety prior tu surgery? If so how did you deal with it?

      Perla Garcia Hi! So sorry to hear you are dealing with this issue. It is such a physical and emotional struggle. I’ve been thinking of doing a video on that aspect of it. To answer your question about anxiety, I had none poor to surgery. It was so clear to me that surgery was my best option I couldn’t wait to get it done. Not to say I wasn’t nervous, but I certainly didn’t have anxiety over it. My anxiety came after, because I was so afraid of re-herniating the disc. I haven’t though! I still have minor nerve pain, but that’s because of the circumstances of my surgery. I would do it again if I had to. I’m a pray-er, and that’s what gets me through anything. Belief that God is in control. Prayers your surgery goes well. Please keep me updated on how you do. Can’t wait for your agony & pain yo be gone!!

I pray that God may allow me to find peace of mind and strength to get through this difficult situation. Love your positive attitude and how you keep a smile in your face despite having faced difficult times. I would like for you to do that video please! I am am so glad you are doing so well 🤗

      My orthopedic surgeon, and my neurosurgeon both said it will be a permanent fix for me. 6-8 weeks I’ll be able to return to sports like I did before my main injury. There is a 10% chance that I could get a re-herniation if I’m not careful though, but I’ll be careful trust me

      @@freestylebully4849 I didn’t have any pain or numbness in either leg, I’ve had severe back pain since November when it came to a point, I work at a nursing home and I was transferring a heavy patient, it did me in. I’ve been in pain every day since then, severe back pain. Today it’s been exactly 2 weeks since my surgery, I’ve had ZERO back pain due to nerves and I’m walking 100% normal now!! For months I tried PT, did nothing. My orthopedic surgeon, and my neurosurgeon both recommended surgery, it worked 100%. My incision is 90% healed and I couldn’t be more stoked, I’d say go for it dude! Just get a good surgeon of course. Let me know if you have any other questions!
