once in a while, someone comes and puts together a rare aphex twin mix.
so true
SSNB has always reminded me of the DJ food mix "aphex twin rare gems" mix by matt
The more obscure and raw the better... Some of those old mixes from his Soundcloud are freaking genius.
His work has definitely made our messed up planet feel less fucked up... ❤
Been an Aphex fan since my uncle gave me a copy of "I Care.." as a birthday present in 1995. And I still feel his works just as much. Thank you for taking the time to make these SoundCloud comps! 🙏
appreciate it man! ur uncle did good
@@zurrizurzur No doubt 🙏
ssnb is so dense and emotional. Truly a great mix
This makes me go "WHOOPIE!"
this makes me go "HIP HIP HORAY!"
mix is rlly awesome dude 😍
Wow you put some beautiful tunes that I’ve never listened to. 💯
This is comforting
thanks 4 putting these together
Amazing playlist
thank you
if he could release these tracks as an official album, i would be so happy 😭
there are at least 15 volumes of ambient selected running on YT :)
yessir i've listened to a lot of them! 😁
Awesomeness!! :)
Awesome tracks
I've stumbled across many of these songs in 2015, while still in High School. Being able to listen to them again has brought great memories.
im very glad my friend!
Yeah. I was given a promo pack of SAW 1&2 back when I was just starting college. Changed my life. That was more than 30 years ago...
@@jeremysmith3163 You're a very lucky man! SAW 1 was my first contact with Aphex Twin's music, changed my taste for music forever
cornish spreek5b - brilliant
What a great thing!
Thanks for sharing.
if u r evil maybe you go to jail..
@@dominicduffin9936 Nah, me so evil, jail go to me!
Climbed to the top of the multi storey car park and put on my special hat then stood there with a balloon in my mouth whilst I did the ironing with my headphones on, nodding intently. When people approached me I lunged with the hot iron and barked. After an hour and three minutes, I headed home, feeling elated yet a little perturbed that I somehow lost a favoured sock. Loves
glad it's not just me
@@detepavidson1547 surely it’s ‘the norm’ - if it isn’t they’re not real IDM / braindance heads 😊
i see you
Since 2001, in my heart. ♥
Why is nobody else here
we shall never know...
because people do not search properly.
finest gems hidden under a lifetime mountain of pushed algorythm crap. thank u big corporations.
They don't know yet
Everyone else sheep
🙌
4:27 uffffff
s8v1 is beautiful
The first song feels like a remix of Polygon Window
I think you might just be high as fuck lol
I used to have it on a silver disc in a sleeveless case--I think it was analogue bubblebath. Wish I still had that.
He used the beat of the first track multiple times. Can't recall where though
@@aircon0 analord
nice one skinny chicken
Was doing homework and this put me in a trance, feels like i snorted c0ke or something lol... im about to get so much work done

tha2 is a masterpiece!
I'm not an Entertainment.................
Good tracks, but I don't understand how this is ambient. I thought ambient was little to no kickdrum?
i consider it ambient cuz of the vibe of the songs, I don't really pay attention to technicalities
Imo ambient is more how the piece is structured rather than the sounds used. The way it's, for lack of a better word, 'meant' to be listened to, or rather the many ways one could.
If you listen to any of Aphex 's other work (Analords for example), and compare it to the og Selected Ambient Works, you'll see how this leans more into ambient, and how the vibe of this selection is rather similar to the latter.
Might check out Boards of Canada (hip hop influences), the Japanese 80 's ambient scene (some jazz influences here and there), Satie 's Furniture music (could be considered the og ambient), and genres like psybient and downtempo.
You 'll notice they all share similarities, yet different than your 'typical Eno ambient' (which i think most people think of when thinking of ambient).
@@jaakbonenstaak8041 exactly this
Is this definitely AT?
yes
Qu1… heavy sigh….
as someone who got into aphex twin in the early 2000s, coming back to his music, wow, he is super overrated. windowlicker is his only lasting legacy lmao, one hit wonder.
Your statement doesn't make sense, Window Licker !
