Owned one for 7 years, never tracked it or anything but I beat the piss out of it constantly and the only thing that ever broke was a caliper and an AC relay. Incredible cars.
Damn straight! K20Z3 works for me! 07" Fa5. The most linear power curves are in the most entertaining engines if you ask me, and oh yeah, Enzo Ferrari and Soichiro Honda.
@@ScottMerrihew Ok, I'm genuinely thinking about buying one of these now. I was about to spend 20k on a very clean and low miles Fiesta ST, but I was a honda fanboy from my motorcycling days and half that buys a good one of these easy. Hmmmm.
@@R3LF13 as an 8th gen owner, do it, they’re very underrated. You can get an extremely clean 8th gen for less than 12k. The interior is laid out extremely well, with a buttery smooth shifter and sharp steering. They make the same hp and both have LSD’s but the k20 has much more tuning potential and support. Coils, tires, and rear anti roll bar and it’ll handle very well.
I really like this track content. I would love to see another episode on the brake upgrade and another track test. And I would not mind Kaval being a regular on the channel. Finally: happy birthday Dave!
We need more of these simple build videos with affordable/relatable cars. Most importantly the track sessions with results. This is what the long term subscribers love about SA.
Yes. more track content please. This is what I want to see after you build a car - see how much time your mods and work shave off of the cars you build.
Happy Birthday!!! Great build I love seeing it on track. I have the same car and the same color just the coupe version and I track it here it's Colorado at PPIR.
We had TSX calipers on the car and RBF600 fluid already but the brake pads were defective. We will be revisiting with a new set of brake pads and less-rusty driving lol
Wish I was there with my K20C2 GenX 6MT sedan. I'm also hitting about 150km/hr before turn 1. No one knows about the base Gen X, but it's the most reliable (and affordable) way to setup a car that can do 120s at TMP. Price are starting to come down for used 2017 model (avoid 2016 because of piston slap) and Quebec has inventory if no good deals in Ontario.
@@speedacademydave Awesome I can't wait, I would be interested in how they do as street tires as well. I live in Vegas and tend to run 200TW for my summer tires because of the heat.
Gotta say, from watching Kavel (spelling??) driving casually on the ‘reveal’ video on the 3rd part of the build series, I was not impressed by his hand and seating position. His track work showed me up, however. Great job, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Seriously, bravo!
Haha, thanks! For the reveal I just hopped into the car and drove. At the track we had more time to set our position properly. I like the attention to detail you picked up lol. All the best Jorge! - Kaval 😉
I need to do the head swap on my 13 Si. I love my car but wish I had VTEC on both cams. Does anyone know why Honda made that decision? Still a fun car with VTEC on the intake cam.
Fun fact: there's no need to K-swap your car if you buy a car with a K in it! - I like these.

Anyone else think this track footage should’ve made it to the main channel? It was hot laps that brought me to speed academy.
Also, happy birthday DP!
+1!
The production quality of the main channel is great but I do miss these more casual ones as well. Great stuff!
Fantastic driving, both of you! Being a track rat myself, I would definitely watch more of these track videos. Also, belated happy birthday, Dave.
Thanks Eric!
Glad to see more of the car, I love seeing them in action at the track as well!
I only found this channel cause you mentioned on the offhand in the Civic Si video. You guys need to promote it a bit more!
I really like this track content. I would love to see another episode on the brake upgrade and another track test. And I would not mind Kaval being a regular on the channel. Finally: happy birthday Dave!
Heck yea! This the content we want. Build, tune and test. Then rebuild and improve
Great to see you guys back at the track, very entertaining to watch any car being ripped around TMP.
NO point in wishing you a HBD when you spent all day ripping an SI at a track, what an awesome afternoon to have. Congrats man!
thank you, sir!

Makes me miss my civic. Always loved this year model.
Loved this build series. Great job guys. Fantastic content.
I'd love to see more EF content on the channel! I spent many years chasing down cars with 2 or more times the HP at Thunderhill.
Two questions...
1: Spring Rates of coilovers?
2: Where's part 2 of Dave's revenge?
Yes. more track content please. This is what I want to see after you build a car - see how much time your mods and work shave off of the cars you build.
Makes me want to take my dad’s 2011 si to the track! Great build guys!
Happy birthday 🙏🏾🙏🏾 one of the best builders on YT
Just discovered this second channel I like it
3:37 that'll be me once I get my civic SI soon. I can't wait to hit VTEC every day 😂
Happy Birthday!!! Great build I love seeing it on track. I have the same car and the same color just the coupe version and I track it here it's Colorado at PPIR.
Happy Birthday Dave, have a good one 🎂
Well done! I'm happy to see this video. Tsk brakes are a very cheap and worth while upgrade.
We had TSX calipers on the car and RBF600 fluid already but the brake pads were defective. We will be revisiting with a new set of brake pads and less-rusty driving lol
@@makeitshine108 ah! I must of missed that then. Hopefully with THR new pads and fluid it'll make for a more reliable setup!
Car sounds and performs awesome. Very nice job and happy birthday!
I missed these track videos a lot!! Need more of these!!
Happy birthday DP 🥳
Had no idea there was a second channel. Finding this is like a cool Easter egg.
Never miss an opportunity to rip some tec.
Nice work on the build. Makes me miss my fa5 a bit, but I guess the fk8 makes up a bit for it.
FK8 is a pretty good "substitute" :D
I have the 2008 8th gen si. 240km still amazing. I understand why this is such a have to have car.

Great to see you guys back at the track!
You can feature this channel on your main channel page so more people can find it, if you want to.
P.S. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVE! 🎉🎉🎉
Happy Birthday! Ripping vtec yo! What a treat.. 2 vids in one day 😍
That is the way to celebrate a Birthday. Many happy returns of the day!
Good to see you back at the track! Been a while and how better to shake the cobwebs than with the VTEC (yo).
Hooray some track content! Cool build, happy birthday Dave.
Happy birthday Dave!
Great video as always! Keep it up guys!❤️
Hybrid shift knob sans Hybrid shift assembly??? SACRILEGE! Please make it your next mod!
AWESOME driving! That was some good rippin'.
Happy Birthday! Miss my Fa5 was such a solid car.
Are the two of you going to test a set of the new Continental 200TW track tires?
Yessir, we have a set going on our 350Z shortly. Standby for a quick build on that car and a tire test.
@@speedacademydave Awesome I can't wait, I would be interested in how they do as street tires as well. I live in Vegas and tend to run 200TW for my summer tires because of the heat.
Why was this not included as the final episode of the build on the main channel?
I didn’t know about this channel!! I was really missing your track videos, glad this popped up on my feed, subscribed!
Happy birthday Dave!
Thank you, Commander!
HBD DP!!
Feliz Cumpleaños Dave!!!
oh hell yeah another speed academy channel
Bro!!!!! Didn't even know this channel existed. SUBBED!!!!!!
Happy birthday DP! Gotta show those younger whipper-snappers how it's done.
I'm impressed with the times with a lightly modded civic. I underestimated these cars.
Happy birthday Dave. Nice build. Rippin some Tec!
Ripping Tec!
Fantastic job guys!
Missed the track stuff!
Happy Birthday, DP! Great content.
Happy Birthday
Happy Birthday.!!!!! Whens Connie back?
Thanks and Connie will be back from Baltimore pretty soon. Tim whose painting her and doing the carbon work is trying to wrap things up this month.
Happy Belated birthday 🎂
Happy birthday young fella
I miss my car so much after watching this 😆 the weakness of this car are the brakes. Don’t even bother getting the TSX caliper upgrade.
Can't wait till you upgrade to bigger brakes!
Great vid ❤️
Back to the track!!!!!
You guys should mention this channel on your main channel, since I had no idea it existed.
In pakistan this car named as civic Reborn .. and i have this 2010 model i loved it
happy birthday fam 😁
Providing the lap times of other cars tested would be great for comparison!
1:39 wish I could be in car build hell 😭 regardless happy belated birthday Dave
WOAH A SECOND CHANNEL
Happy Belated Birthday 😁👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Makes me miss my fg2!
Happy birthday pal.
I want to take a track training course one day so I can get better at driving manual, especially with short shifters
And rev matching
Happy birthday broo
Is this the first track footage we've seen this summer? Btw summer is over
I would love to get a set of that Annex suspension if they made it for my car 😩😢
@speedacademydave just curious how have the annex suspension held up in the last year? Is there estimate of when they need to be rebuilt?

Happy belated birthday 🤙
What is that center screen?!? Lmao
Happy Birthday!
Put a little heat in the clutch
Rip that fn tec vtec rules the world!!!!!
Happy birthday 🎊
I need to do the head swap on my 13 Si. I love my car but wish I had VTEC on both cams. Does anyone know why Honda made that decision? Still a fun car with VTEC on the intake cam.
Happy Birthday Buddy!
Was that 7am or pm?
PM. Evening lapping session 😎
Makes me a bit sad I didn't spend more time with my folk's 8th gen before they sold it (pov Aus spec with no K though)
Happy birthday sir :)
What spring rate was it using?
Happy bday
Sad we can only click like once on your videos.
Take it down the 1/4 mile
13.743 is my best
What was the rpm limiter set at? I saw him touch 9k rpm.
8600rpm. The tach on these always tend to read a bit high for some reason.
Yeah I love my fg2😂
So spend $4-6k on a 8th Gen then spend $6000 in mods and a tune, for a 1:25 at cayuga
$6k in mods? Only things they got for performance was rims, tires, intake, exhaust and a tune. Idk where you got $6k from
Happy birthday Dave!
Thanks!
Happy birthday DP!
