LSU brought in an elite defensive coaching unit. That same DC took Mizzou from 113 giving up 33.8 to 56th giving up 25.2
LSU wins no less than 10 games if they giving up 25 points per game.
You're not an LSU fan, so you don't understand that LSU fans KNOW their offense is loaded and KNOWS, they have another elite offense this year.

They downgraded at qb, they downgraded at rb, they downgraded at wr, and they down graded at OC lsu oline is imo the best in the country so yes they have alot of potential but they will take a step back offensively. And on defense they upgraded the staff like a mf but the PLAYERS and fball is a players game they did not upgrade in terms of personnel on defense. Plz tell me what I said that's wrong

The defense being top 30 is not required to win a championship, go back and look at defense rankings of the last 15 championship teams, and most were below 30. If LSU has a top 50 defense, 10-2 is the floor. Show me the 3 losses.
Agreed. If LSU has a top 30 defense, they are looking at top 4 finish. A top 50 defense last year would have been good enough for a championship last season. They definitely beat Ole Miss and Alabama...and likely Florida St in week 1.

Not true. Alabama and Georgia's defense in the last 6-7 years were all ranked in the top 20.And look at those Nattys. Who has a defense that was ranked say....45th and won a Natty?

Last time we were in the top 50 was 2019. Three years straight of having one of the worst defenses in college football

LSU is winning 10 games minimum this year. Offense is gonna be at or very close what it was last year. If defense is improved they will be deadly

Everyone only remembers those 3 god awful losses. Tiger defense came up with multiple big plays in all the Ws.
Especially against mizzou, gators, texags and badgers. Held state to 14 which was one of its lowest outputs for the season. Same with auburn 18 points. Arky win was the only win that doesn't fit.
For LSU defense to get to top 50, Turn a TD drive you gave up to a FG. That knocks 4 points off the score. Make an opponent punt instead of attempt a FG. That's another 3 off the board.
Makes sense for CBK to go after Blake Baker. His mizzou defense did the best job defending JD5 and the boys.

@@ginobling1828 LSU defense won us the mizzou game. Gators scored 1 TD last 22 minutes of the game. Last 26 minutes of the game held texags to 1 TD. Badgers last 27 minutes of game ZERO TDs. 3rd quarter wisconsin had 1st and goal at the 3. Settled for a FG. Tiger defense forced 3 straight fumbles badgers last 3 plays of the game.

@@diggs3006 Not going to argue about the secondary but, what exactly is a "fluke turnover"? They other teams RB just handed the ball to Perk instead of getting hit?
Everything I posted about those defensive numbers in all the games are 100% correct. Tiger D more than held their own in 8 of the 9 regular season wins. The outlier was the hogs. Our last four games against them were all decided by a FG. One way or the other.

I believe Dominick McKinley will be good to go as a DT starter right from the very first game against USC, and that will mean the defense will be very improved.
And then if LSU's new play caller can call plays like he called in the second half of the bowl game with Wisconsin and not like he did in the first half of the Wisconsin game, then LSU's offense will be off the charts.

LSU only needs a top 50 defense to get to 10-2. All our toughest games are at home outside of the TAMU game. With the best OL in the league, a skiled RB room that is getting to run behind that OL with a new running scheme and emphasis on running, and a QB that is primed and ready to take off, LSU only needed an average defense. LSU goes undeafeated in the regular season with a top 30 defense. We don't play any super elite teams on the road, and our tough home games are going to be at night in Death Valley.

No reason they shouldn't be top 50 with the blue chip talent and experienced coaching staff under a legit D-Coordinator
