Last year I had lsu at 11-1 and they went 9-3.
LSU is a little bit overrated the last couple of seasons. People want/expect them to be elite but they are just very good.

Never heard of Crazy Lou until an hour ago. I have been an LSU fan forever. Always will be. However, as a huge fan of College athletics I am slowly losing interest strictly because of the portal and NIL. I agree with CrazyAssLou enough to SUBSCRIBE to this channel. I agree that 8-4 is more probable than 9-3. Can LSU go 10-2 or 9-3? Yes but to me with all that Lou described they are an 8-4ish team. I can’t tell you which teams LSU looses to. It won’t be Arkansas and Florida! If we lose to them, we’ll be 6-6 or worse. So there’s that. Not that it matters but my guess is 93% of athletes that are cashing in on NIL are being paid for performance. Dunne, Sanders and Manning have the Name and the Image and Likeness. Everybody else, performance period.

As a LSU fan, it’s a fair assessment. Kelly brings some needed consistency to LSU but won't bring a championship to Baton Rouge.
Blake Baker tirned Mizzou defense around immediately and LSU has better athletes than Mizzou.

Love your videos, but LSU doesn’t have to be great on Defense to be much improved from last season, also their OC Joe Sloan was promoted from QB coach and His Co-Coordinator Cortez Hankins was the WR coach, they both coached the Bowl Game against Wisconsin after Denbrock had left, O didn’t show a huge drop off, also our New DC, Blake Baker, former LSU LB himself, showed what He is capable of at Missouri who had a great D last season, almost beat LSU in fact, that said, we won’t be Missouri last season but closer than you may think, also we missed our big DL targets in the portal, but did bring in two solid DT’s, plus a 5 star freshman DT to go along with Jacobian Guillory, and brought Corey Raymond back.. remember the secondary’s He used to field at LSU? Worth mentioning! I think the amount of emphasis BK has on winning the first game of the year for the first time in 4 years, will be an emphasis and they best USC, also Ark and Florida won’t beat us, that said I think we lose one or two games, to Bama and maybe OU, either way I give us 10-2 with some slight bias, good video, Thanks for your opinion!
Lou, I like your show but you are wrong about LSU. They won 2 of their 4 national championships with 2 of the worst coaches in football. Brian Kelly is building a solid program through recruiting. They missed in the portal because they refuse to get in a bidding war. LSU is loaded on offense with a great offensive line, one of the best tight ends and 4 or 5 deep at wide receiver. Defense is showing signs of being much better.
Been watching Lou for years ! He’s always had negative outlook on my tigahs most seasons! Point in case. U can ask 95% of LSU fans & we all know major burns was probably the weakest link on our defense the past 2 seasons! But Lou here calls him a probable in NFL player! 🤦🏽♂️ like WTF
Yeah I don’t know. I think Lou might have missed on some of his research. Majorly gets Burned and Sage Ryan are garbage, but hopefully it was the recipe and not the ingredients if you get me. Hopefully the new defensive staff will fix the issues because I doubt all of our guys are that bad. Look at Perkins, he had a great year 2 years ago, then had an okay one last year. Those defensive coaches BK had didn’t know anything.

LSU literally got rid of its entire defensive coaching staff, THANK GOD!😅 They also replaced Matt House with Blake Baker. He turned Missouri’s defense around in his first season, going from triple digits overall to top 40 in the country.
LSU has more talent than Missouri. It isn’t that hard to put 2 & 2 together to get 4. Will their defense be elite? No it won’t. It doesn’t have to be, just good enough to compliment the offense.
If Baker can get the defense to top 50 overall or better, they should be playoff bound.😅

Thomas Castallanos at BC is better than QB1Sanders at Colorado. Look at their records last year. Thomas almost beat FSU. They won 6 games cs 4. He’s more electric and just better.
LSU's hope for beating your predictions has 2 X factors.
The young defensive talent MUST step up and prove to be better than what is already there (so this does play into your "inproving trajectory" scenario).
Secondly ... the All-Star defensive staff Kelly assembled this off season could show a quicker turn around than expected.
I'm not so purple & gold colored glasses to think it will magically become a top 25 defense ... but if they can get them to go from 107th to say 60th, thats probably enough to flip those 2 major upsets you have at the end of the season (Arkansas amd Florida). Which puts us at 10-2 ... and likely making the playoffs (all else being equal and injuries dont pile up).
Other side notes: LSU offense will be more balanced run/pass (with traditional running backs instead of insane QB rushing yard numbers).
Kaleb Jackson is going to be a stud.
Also look for TE Mason Taylor to have ridiculous numbers this year.
Defensively in the secondary, one missed question mark is the recovery of Xy Alexander from injury last year. That time frame to getting him back to 100% will basically determine the defense from being that mediocre middle we are hope we end up with versus being bottom half of college football again. Javien Toviano also a name to watch as a possible break out player to help alter some game results.
I think LSU should be in everyone game this year.
My prediction is that they split ole miss/bama and Florida/Texas a&m. Then go 10-2

LSU has probably the best OL in the country. Two first rounders. Depth at WR. They will run the ball at will. Defense is much better than last year. Less than 10 wins is a disappointment

You had some great talking points till you said a win against Ole Miss. The only reason they stayed in that game last year was because of Jayden Daniels. Now this year you have communication in the helmet till 15 seconds. Now you really take away home field advantage.

Thus far they have not earned any faith confidence or trust… but for me that doesn’t mean I’m going to treat them like Vandy level talents.
LSUs defense was just fatality in the wrong place and tackled poorly.
I blame the secondary more. Injuries a players playing CB when they really should be safeties. And then missing tackles giving up a ton of 3rd downs and letting 1st down catches become touchdowns. That room needs to be better.
LSU could have a defense about as good as Texas.

Florida's schedule is BRUTAL.
LSU's schedule isn't easy either. As a ND fan, we never knew what BK was going to give us from week to week. Sometimes, he'd have the team looking like a NC contender. Next week, the team just didn't show up at all. In the really big games, he had the deer-in-the-headlights look on the sidelines. 11-1 is possible, so is 7-5. He does a lot of things really well as the CEO type coach. At a win-at-all-cost program, I don't know if he will last throughout the full contract. 10-2 at ND and a cheap bowl win was good enough at ND. LSU expects a NC. I don't hate him, I would have taken the money too. I wish him well at LSU.
You are probably the most level headed ND fan I have seen 😂 and I agree. However the thing most people forget is the advantages at LSU. If LES MILES and ED ORGERON of all people can win national championships, so can Brian Kelly. And as an LSU fan I think it’s safe to say most people would agree that BK is a better coach than those two. If BK doesn’t win a natty at LSU he will go down in the history books as awful. But yeah LSU has zero recruiting competition in Louisiana in terms of in state options, and since Saban is gone Bama won’t be stealing our recruits as much anymore. La produces the most pro football players per capita of any state by far, so hopefully we will capitalize on that.
@@cane870 Thanks. I just don't see BK winning a natty. I wouldn't be upset if he did, but I see him setting it up for the next coach to do so. BK is a good CEO type. He will stablize the program and build depth. His weaknesses at ND were his ego, big game coaching and recruiting. BK had 3 solid chances to win a natty at ND and we saw how those games turned out. BK is about BK. He never bought into ND. I doubt he'll buy into LSU. He only hires friends (until the ND AD stepped in and started hiring and firing his assistants after he lost the team in 2016) and he'd rather lose than win someone else's way. He left the program a lot better than he found it and he was easily the best coach since Holtz, but he is no where near the coach Holtz was.
I can see Freeman having a better career than BK before his time is done. His gameday coaching is pretty close to even at this point in his career. He recruits a lot better. The big one is that ND is finally willing to open up that checkbook a lot more too for better assistants. Anyways, best of luck this season.

Excluding the 2022 class because Freeman didn’t have much of a hand in that, his average is 11.5. ND has the 6th ranked class (247) for 2025, but only the 12th average player rating. That class will fall to the 9-12 range.
BK’s average at ND was 11.3 (247); even if the 25 class finished 6th, Freeman’s average would only be 9.6.
Also ND didn’t have 3 solid chances to win a natty, y’all were out matched in every one of those games. (No offense) You can blame BK for that when Freeman starts pulling consecutive top 10 classes with a few top 5’s sprinkled in every 3 to 4 years.
I don’t see our offense taking a big step back, our oline is one of the best in the conference and we’re stacked at WR. Nuss can sling it and with a complementary run game they’ll score points. I still have questions about the defense, the staff is a huge upgrade though and should get the most out of the players.

Interesting piece of lore with the Alabama vs LSU game going back to 1981 the home team has a losing record in the series Alabama is 7-14-1 at home against LSU, and LSU is 3-17-2 at home against Alabama since 1981.

You haven't a clue about LSU and its football history my good man. Tigers didn't get the moniker DBU just because someone thought it was cool. LSU has a history of putting elite talent into the league. ALL positions.
Now for the kicker. A lil history of LSU offense. Last time LSU lost 1st rounders at QB and 2 WRs in same draft. The VERY NEXT season LSU won the whole shooting match. Tigers were led by an offense that increased its numbers in PPG.

Nuss has 1 start at QB. In that only start he had a game that would slot is as JD5s #3 passing game in his 27 game LSU career. As for the LSU WRs tigers lost. Very few people knew who Malik Nabers was heading into '23 and NOBODY had a clue who Brian Thomas, jr was.
Do any of these names sound familiar? OBJ, Juice Landry, Jetts Jefferson, Jamar Chase, Terrace Marshall and Keyshon Boutte. Those are just the recent WRs that have played in purple and gold. Jetts just signed the BIGGEST non QB in history of the NFL.

@@wickedrollerI highly doubt the only issue was the players. BK brought back a lot of the defensive staff this off season that made LSU into DBU. Hopefully they will remedy the old staffs mistakes and use the talent we have to make a decent defense this year.
The offense won't be as as good at least looking now. But that defense won't be as bad either. I think they move closer to the mean (the offense and defense)

Also, the problem last year was giving up the most 3rd and 7 or longer plays in the country. They will be top 50 at worst.

Last time that I checked, USC’S defense isn’t anything to write home about either. To be honest with you, there was a lot of talk earlier this year about Lincoln Riley trying to get out of playing LSU first game of the season.😅

Even with Saban, Alabama struggled against clearly inferior LSU teams (2008, 2012, 2014, 2016)or lost to clearly inferior LSU teams (2010 and 2022) in Death Valley. Also, our new head coach, Kalen Debour, has not coached against a team with a home field advantage as much as Death Valley, the worst stadium in college football for a visiting team to play.

@2xxNorMacKxx2 just moved to Arkansas last May from Louisiana and I watched that game against the Hogs and LSU was begging the Hogs to beat them the last 2 years and 3 years ago the Hogs beat us in Death Valley. I see the same effort and the Hogs getting a win this year in Fayetteville.😢

I wouldn’t crap on their d-line that much. 2 of the linemen are 5 stars and they missed in the portal but they still got 2 vets for the middle. They won’t be as bad there as people think
If nothing else top 4 DTs got the experience. All four are in at least their 5th season of college ball. All they have to do is hold their ground and occupy blockers. Edge goes at least two deep on each side.

I'm not convinced of Greg Penn III to be able to pursue much. He always looks pitifully slow.
But he may actually shine in the USC game (west coast USC ... not SEC USC). Trojans will likely be a more run focused team this year. Penn will need to run stuff ... and weeks and Perkins kill anything outside.

As an LSU fan, I think if the defense can be solid, they can probably get to 9-3 or 10-2. The schedule is pretty manageable for the most part. Great video. Keep it up
i can see a 1 or 2 loss season for LSU. Anything worse than 3 losses would kinda suprise me.

Sage Ryan was the best db and they move him to his nature position at safety and brought in Gilbert from the portal. They have a stud Delpit level freshman in Mcbride. Safety should be much improved. Burns was moved closer to the line since he was so bad in space last year. LSU should be good at edge as well. DT and CB are where they are iffy. They have good talent but unknown. The offense will still be top 10.
Getting Gilbert has allowed Sage and Major to move to positions that will make better use of their talents. Kylin Jackson will crack some skulls on the backend too. Tiger safety room in good hands going forward. LBs too.

Kelly seems to be the polar opposite of Miles. Whereas Miles was a great coach during the summer and would bring a team into week 1 that was rock solid but lost down the stretch due to boneheadsd game plan and play calling. Kelly has brought a sloppy team into week 1 but has cooked up some wizardry to pull off wins. I hope coach Kelly is working hard right now to get them ready. Losing to USC would be NEXT level shame
I'm an LSU tiger fan, but I'm also honest. LSU has an Achilles hill this season, and it's the D-Line. We are top-notch just about everywhere else. I think we go 10-2. If we can't fix the D-line, it'll probably be worse! We are going to have to score 45 points a game to win.
