My christmas wish list would be 2 things. That the owner of this would like a top end rebuild, and that you are the one to do it! Nice job and nice video. I have the exact same rattle in my RZR 800S. Top end rebuild will come in the spring when there is no more plowing
Wisconsin waving! I have a 2020 polaris 850 with 1000 miles one owner and last year i started to notice a small clunk coming from the rear when starting and stopping high or low gear 2 or 4 wheel drive hot or cold. I do plow my little 30 ft driveway. All fluids changed multiple times and no sign of metal. I have seen a couple videos of possible fixes but i really like your content and wanted your opinion maybe even a video on this problem if you haven't already. And Thank you for all you do for this content.
Finally got mine back on the trail ... paid $200.00 for it but it didn't run, previous owner didnt know what was wrong with it i replace the battery and voltage regulator, oil change, new plugs, and throttle body boot, fuel pump and now it runs and drives🤘
The air intake tube on my old 2005 sportsman 500 cracked and i knew immediately. The engine didn't sound the same, also replaced the carb boot, that thing cracks and the machine ran terribly. Of course its carbed. (last year of carbureted machines i think) personally, i have more knowledge of fuel injection. The Mikinu factory carb misbehaved, i replaced with a 30.00 amazon unit, been great for 4 years (luckily😂)
People may disagree but Polaris is by far the biggest money makers for shops. They have never been built with any sort of quality, unless there blow a 1999.
@@rockspowersports I will get ahold of you when we get closer. I have never ridden on opening day. I know some people do. Thanks for keeping in touch! Keep the videos coming
awesome video ....anyone with a 2008 Polaris Sportsman 800 EFI, lost my oil dip stick and polaris has them back ordered to June ....can someone give me measurement from where dip stick (pt# 1204368) seats to oil tube to end of it? i have a sportsman 700 it's 10 3/4" & i bought Pt# 1204369 ( length 11 7/8") which isn't for this one ...but it's longer so i can cut it to fit. possibly compatible to all 2008 - 2014 Sportsman, RZR & Ranger 800cc
Saving this video for when I need to fix my quad, thank you for all the info your sharing about this machine
No problem, glad to help.

I did ask them but they didn’t want it done right now. I’m sure when they decide to have it rebuilt I’ll be the one to do it.
@@rockspowersports Thats too bad, i hope they change their mind. Your Polaris content is the best!

Great video! I love the classic Polaris owner move: new belt on hand on the machine 😂
Gotta be prepared haha.. The newer 570/850’s belts seem to last along time but the older 800’s did eat them up pretty good if they got abused.

Baffles me, that people will spend a lot of money to purchase these Machines. But, then refuse the care or maintenance of them. 🤨🙄
Yeah, just simple fluid changes can extend the life of these by along time.
What’s that bottle called that you pumped fluid in the diffs with
Seems like the older Polaris’s were kinda ahead of there time just not built to take the abuse. But if taken care of they were pretty good machines?
They had the best ride out of anything and still compete with newer machines. But yes maintenance is key with any machine.
Does the oil pump always makes some noise even when functionning properly or they can make more "metal ticks" ?
So many four wheelers that are the same year as my artic cat
Never saw that fluid reservoir on the front? Active Decent control? Is that a fancy version of the EBS on my 05 500?
Is this a good quad? Looking at a used one, how many miles or hours is too much? Don’t want to buy a worn out engine
I have a 06 700 and my rear diff calls for AGL. It looks the same as this one, what's the difference?
They use to call for angle drive fluid. Now they call for AGL. Both are compatible. The AGL is much thinner and a synthetic fluid.
@rockspowersports awesome, great to know. I was being to think I screwed up and was about to burn up my diff.
Was the Scrambler 800 efi in series? Or it is some custom made from Sportsman 800? I can not find any info about it.
but if there is this metallic sound coming from the engine, what should you do? Do you have to change the pistons?
Good job! 💪😎

Hey Rock! Do you have any Polaris Sport 400L's on your property?
I have a 1994 Polaris 400L 4x4 and a 350L

Quality stops at 2005 as soon as everything went to EFI its junk lol
Look at all the snow! Ya
Yeah we got a good start to the season so far.

I have a 92 trailboss id love to get to you.
What does ADC mean?
It means active decent control. When you have it on it applies engine braking to all 4 wheels as opposed to just the rear.
Oh okay
was a cover band for ac/dc!!!!lol.
Lol

"Sportsman 800s only hold two quarts" Are there any Polaris ATVs that hold more than 2 quarts?🤣
Polaris atvs are trash!
