    I received the Vism sight pusher for Glock and it came as an armorers kit with a front sight tool, pro tool and a mag popper. At first I wasn't sure of the quality, but after watching Len use it , I was convinced that it would do the job. And it worked flawlessly. Two quick comments and or suggestions; first the instructions advise that you oil all screw threads and bushings, very important because of the strain on the threads under pressure. Second Len mentioned maybe putting a pipe on the cranking handle to gain more leverage, and I felt first hand how difficult it was to turn, then I noticed the end of the threaded bolt where the "T" handle goes through is Hex shaped and a 15mm socket fits perfectly and you get all the leverage you need as well as pin point control. Worked like a charm

    Lenny, this was a true to real world demonstration which you showed the ease of completing and yet the patience of doing as many tweaks as necessary to accurately complete the job for precise sight alignment for accurate shooting performance and if necessary fine tune, if you find out you are hitting target consistently off to one side.
    Nice demonstration. Nice professional work.

    Good infomation, Lenny. One thing I would add. I place blue painter's masking tape on entire slide, to prevent marring it. In addition, on the bit of blue tape right behind the original sight, and in front, I mark the center of the rear sight notch. Easy to center the new sight by referencing these center marks. I put TruGlo's on my Glocks, and they install easily with a sight pusher. The one he shows looks really good, but I used an older one which is the similar design, square with "universal" parts. Worked fine, but this new blue one is better and really cheap, only $40 or so.

    You would think GLOCK would have a small mark either on top or on the back of the slide showing dead center of the slide for sight adjustment. For eyeballing though I might try looking down the muzzle to line up the firing pin with the sight. Just an amatuers thought. Great video thanks.

    YOU COMPLETELY FORGOT to use small windows cutout of each side of tool to check the clearance of your slide and the sight pusher oh, and they recommend that you have a gap of two business cards between slide and pusher.... they also state in the manual that rear sights might go in easier one way than the other and I found on my glock 43 installing for the left to the right was easier than the right to left, otherwise great video it really helped!

    Great video. I promise Mr Magill is telling you the truth. Get a sight pusher! If you want to use a mallet and punch...be prepared to work. I eventually had to shave a little off to install sights on my M&P Shield. It's no fun taking a dremmel to a very expensive set of sights. Spend 10 bucks and get a cheap pusher from Amazon if you want l. Just get a pusher. You also get what you pay for with them. Spend more on a good one and it will be almost stress free lol

  • @tudorbaraianosgoode8320

    Nice job ! In my opinion, the rear night sight would go in easier with a drop of WD40 and the pusher jaw as low as possible toward the base of the object!

    • @icolorcontactlenses7607
      @icolorcontactlenses7607 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Never put WD 40 on it, put the rear sight in the freezer for an hour, then heat up the grooves on the slide, there you go.

    • @defundguncontrol9131
      @defundguncontrol9131 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should absolutely put oil in the groove where the sight goes. Freezing it will help out also.
      In regard to tritium, TruGlo has their own source. Trijicon and Ameriglo are the same company, along with Meprolight. Meprolight does not use white rings around the viles. Then HiViz machines their own sights, uses Trijicon lamps, but not as good of quality of glass behind the lamps.

    Really like the channel and 99% your right on the money..except on this,placing sights on any weapon you don't just 'eyeball' there are incremental measurement numbers on that sight pusher for a reason.
    I use a different type that's a little more precise with its measurements but same principle.
    I guess it'd be okay if you're just shooting a paper I mean who cares right?
    But if you're using this as an everyday carry firearm you really need to set them sites correctly it really could mean your life.

    But is there a size difference in the dot itself, between the regular and the thin front sight?
    If the aging eye's acuity worsens, then you'd probably prefer the thin front sight. At least in poor light conditions, since the thin front sight allows more light through the gap to the rear sight hit your eye - i.e., the minimum external requirement to see.

    A word of advice to all who may not know - DO NOT USE THIS SIGHT PUSHER. I have 30 years of firearms experience. I have used many sight pushers and without this one being properly shimmed above between the block and frame, it will rock back and forth, changing the angle. If you want a good way to mar your slide despite your alignment, this is the way to do it.

    Just received night sights for my Glock 21 from the Glock Store, and made first use of the, also newly acquired, VISM sight tool. Everything went smoothly, and according to plan. However, for a dweeb-wannabe gunsmith, such as myself, do I infer correctly from this video that centering the rear sight, by eyeball, is adequate calibration for shooting accuracy? In other words, is there an assumption that eyeball centering of the rear sight in its dovetail is enough to allow me to shoot accurately (other things being equal) out to a reasonable distance for this handgun?
