I'm a club owner/coach. Several of my players meet me in the weight room every morning at 5:30am four days per week. We do the John Terry run at the end of every work out. The age range is from 13-17. My guys are fit. They're a bunch of little beasts. We adjust the elevation and speed a little based on age, but the older guys get the full treatment. It's cold where we are, so training outside isn't an option. This workout has been fantastic for us. When we play futsal the difference in fitness level is very apparent. We just run teams into the ground. Our guys don't even call it the John Terry run anymore. They just say they're hanging out with John. It's just part of the culture now. We have one guy who just ran his on an elevation of 10, at 11mph for the first 10, and then did 12 and 12 for the last five. Kid's a tank.

Why is it when I know I am going to play a good player, I play harder and put in stronger tackles, but when I play an average player I just play average and OK tackles. How can I fix this? Please answer anyone
As a coach, I would say it's probably because you're playing against your opponent when you should be playing against yourself. You should always be attempting to elevate your own game rather than reacting to your opponents' game. You should try to be the best version of yourself every time you step on the pitch, whether it's practice or a game. If you can master yourself then it will be irrelevant who your opponent is. Be "your" best every time. Do not allow your opponent to determine what your best is. If you do then your opponent has already begun to beat you. If they get a lucky bounce here and there, you'll end up losing when you should have won. At the beginning of each practice and each game you need to ask yourself this question, "What is my standard?" If you live up to your standard every day then it won't matter who you're playing because you're not letting them dictate how you play.

Abrahim Elnaggar If you’re thinking about cardio, check out the John terry fitness regimen, but if you are talking about strenght, build your strenght up in the compound lifts (deadlift,squats,benchpress,pull ups) + core to see huge improvememts. Get the lifts up to 1.75x your bodyweight then you can start to implement specific exercises(power cleans, snatches, barbell jump squats etc...)
I did 16 sets of the John Terry routine but honestly I don't like it that much I feel like it causes a lot of pressure to the knees I prefer outdoor fitness but as you said it's good for when weather is bad

Why do you want to move up? Many great players learned how to play in street ball with their friends. If you like your team and your coach lets you play soccer in practice, just stay.
