    I am a traditional storyboard artist. There is much debate on Linkedin with pushback regarding A.I. art. I understand that it mostly comes from fear of jobs being lost to A.I. as well as people's work being used without permission. Just like when Digital art was first introduced, artists felt threatened. myself included. Until I started learning how to do it. I realize A.I. art isn't going away. So I must learn how to do this too. This is art and animation evolution. 👍🏾

      if you are a talented and creative, you have nothing to fear, the AI is a tool, that will end piling up the job for the talented ones

      Your job may not get taken solely because an ai is too random to make a proper storyboard in my opinion. This guy has A LOT of skill.

      Lol. There's no fear of the tech. The tech is garbage. Built off others work. It's the people who use the mass thieving machine and pretending they did anything....Riding the backs of creatives while pretending to be creative.
      The fact people will openly use these mass AI spybots is insane. The fact that people pretend they did the work or have the skill...it's just fake...which seems to be what everyone is loving. Not many real people anymore. Just clout chasers and untalented AI suck off idiots. Copy paste, copy paste, generate, auto fill, blah blah. It's boring, untalented and uncreative.
      Everyone has happily put the power into corporate and studio hands and screwed the artist, so they can feel good...dopamine hit after dopamine hit. Even the drug is fake.

    I loved this entire tutorial! This is probably one of the best videos I've seen online on the practical application of AI art. I was in a creative slump but this pulled me right out so thanks to you. I'm relatively new to animation and would love to have seen the entire process you did. IIf you are interested I'd be willing to pay for a tutorial based on how you created the short film as its an animation style I think would suit what I have in mind for my future projects. Thanks again for the incredible work!

    Big applause here. Normal AI tutorials go very surface level. They just kind of stop at the AI programs and never talk about how AI excels between the marriage of manual work and AI work. Your end result is one of the few things where I wouldn't think an AI made this. Great job.

    Thanks for sharing this tut. What you've demonstrated is exactly what I've been looking for. I love the parallax created by the layers in depth, and adding the details like particle emitters for leaves and effects used in water and on the fish really bring the scene to life.
    I've been fine tuning an art style that I like on MJ, and I have wanted to create an animation with it. I'm going to model, rig, and animate the character, but I've been trying to brainstorm how to use a consistent artstyle that MJ can create for the environment in a way that is better than plastering a flat image on a plane.
    Great work, and thanks for sharing your techniques 💯

    Hello. Photoshop update made me excited. (I create cartoons using the same pipeline)) Before that, I used the usual fill for the lower layers, which had to be adjusted. Now everything has become easier. By the way, I used automation in Photoshop. You press one button and it fills everything automatically, creates a backup layer and deselects it. Pay attention if you haven't used it. Speeds up the process.
    And one more moment - very cool work with effects in your video. I like it!

    This is really beautiful! Your videos have been so helpful as I’m trying to learn about these tools and plan a project. Is there a way to combine the 3D effect with the depth maps from your previous videos with 2D animations of Midjourney characters in the foreground?

    • @mickmumpitz
      @mickmumpitz  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely! You could either animate the characters in After Effects with a static camera and transparent background and then import the sequence as an image plane in Blender.
      Alternatively, you could first animate your 3D depth map scene in Blender and then export it as a .png sequence. Then you can either export the camera or track the scene using After Effects' internal 3D tracker, which is probably easier. Then you can add and animate all 2D elements on top of that.

    • @cak6831
      @cak6831 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mickmumpitz thank you so much for this detailed reply! I’ve been working on learning about Blender and image planes in the meantime as well as rewatching all your videos. I’m curious, as of today, is there a simple way to add a depth pass (if I’m saying that right) to a simple 2d video in order to make an animated version of the mesh in Blender? I see in your horror film you talked about an issue with flickering if you try to add a depth map to each frame, but these tools seem to be evolving by the day/week so maybe there is an easier way. I suppose the video about adding a normal map to video also works towards those ends but you had to do some deflickering magic there as well. In my mind I’m picturing a static background mesh made from an image and depth map plus a character in the foreground who maybe also has some depth so they look like they’re part of the scene.

For example village could be 2d or semi 2.5d, ground, water and trees could be easily auto animated from the UE library... That kind of type tutorial would be very interesting :)
