I tried to learn this stuff a decade ago, it was part of my higher education course. Growing up in poverty, I had only just purchased my first laptop which was basically a fancy way to browse google, as I had absolutely no computer experience and had only just gotten the internet. My teachers and classmates were so condescending and did not even try to help me get to a point where I could learn anything. So I dropped out and haven't touched PS since, and have always felt a tug of shame about the whole thing. This video has been incredibly helpful and you are just so friendly! It honestly means the world, I can finally feel confident enough to begin my design journey. Thankyou so much!

Same, I'm just bored with what I'm currently doing, so on my road towards becoming a doctor, I figured that I teach myself something. I watched the InDesign course done by this gent and he made it so fun to watch. I complete NOTHING (usually, because nothing catches my interest besides medicine long enough), but the InDesign course was actually something that I completed. On to Photoshop (this vid) next. Hopefully this will be just as good as his InDesign course.

For anyone using photoshop 2021 when scaling an image you no longer need to hold shift, the image scales equally by default. It's actually the opposite now, if your holding shift the image will warp to whatever size you want (new to photoshop so I apologize if Im using incorrect terminology). ive used photoshop for 7 years and have 100s of hours in it on 3 different versions and got an A* in a media course and run an instagram page with photoshop art etc. and still learned fundamental stuff i never knew lol

Honestly, Dan, I CAN NOT THANK YOU ENOUGH for your tutorial. I've tried other tutorials previously and they just don't break it down as well as you do. I had little to no experience in Photoshop and I gotta say, I'm feeling a lot more confident. You broke it down PERFECTLY. :)

What a superb course, as a newbie, this was right up my street. I had a few problems with the "content aware scale", but worked it out, so I'm very happy with myself. I have learned loads, the next stop is your Lightroom course. Again, thank you for a brilliant tutorial.
I'm in highschool and just joined yearbook, and I do have previous knowledge of photoshop because of a tech-ed class in my 8th grade but this reminded me a lot of things I already learned and gave me some new knowledge too! I've gotten 2 hours into it and I'm so happy! Can't wait to watch the rest!!

I think I may have found my new Adobe teacher. Love the teaching style, the personality and the lessons themselves. Really feels like I'm coming away with a genuine understanding of the tasks after each lesson. Plus, I already have a sense of how I can take what I'm learning here and use it out in the field.

Thanks Dan for making and sharing this amazingly informative video!! Just a quick note related to Transform..When transforming a layer, it's no more needed to hold down the Shift key while dragging a corner handle to resize a selected layer to constrain its proportions. Anytime you drag a corner handle during transform and move it, the layer resizes proportionally. Holding down the Shift key now resizes non-proportionally when you drag a corner handle during transform.
