I mean, yes and no. There is no copyright *on the composition,* so you can freely perform it without having to pay royalties to Bach. But each individual performance of it *_IS_* under copyright. So if the Chicago Symphony Orchestra played Bach in 2018, the recording of that is 100% under copyright and not free to use. So if cartoons want to use Bach they either need to; get a very old recording that's also out of copyright; or record it themselves; or buy it from someone.

I think THAT might be the inhibiting cost thing. Not so much the copyright on the composition. If you get them to do Bach, they just come in, play the piece for the 1000th time, it's routine. “Colonel Bogey March” we know as “The Bridge on the River Kwai” song. Great flautist and I love the serious intensity of the piano player. Thanks for putting this out!
El Condor Pasa was my favorite. When it came out in 1970 and I was living in Saint Paul Minnesota I must’ve played that song 10 times a day and I still play it to this day. There are many people who play it really well and you to do, and I really admire the people who can play it’s in give people that feeling of peace and anticipation at the same time. Thank you for putting this in your songs of 10.
One good example of a song you hear all the time in old Looney Tunes cartoons but probably never knew the title was the one they used all the time to depict any kind of machinery in motion (i.e., factory settings). It was called Powerhouse, originally composed by Raymond Scott and adapted by Carl Stalling for Looney Tunes.
What has impressed me the most is that the two musicians have dressed with elegance and respect for the audience. And also the great mastery in the execution of music, Bravooooooooo!!!!!

It's the right tempo to move people in a quick but orderly fashion, and in America it is innocuous enough to not panic guests but alert staff because they're listening for it

I've heard many of these tunes in cartoons from the 40s and 50s. So basically I can thank the likes of Bugs Bunny and Tom & Jerry for some of my knowledge of classical music.
I appreciate your talents and willingness to share, ...the only thing I would do differently is that I would leave the title of each song 🎵 on the screen for the entire length of each song 🙂

Zequinha de Abreu was a Brazilian composer and piano player. "Tico-tico no Fubá" (meaning "a sparrow kidding in cornflour") is an original piece for piano. There are hundreds of versions, arrangements for different instruments.

I had a solo & Concerto for piano and flute... I have never ever in my life lost control of my tears on stage but I perfectly performed our part still in Tears. I was so embarrassed, I realized the flute is my kryptonite... I wasn’t aware that musically our completely different two instruments like soulmates hehehe....

In Germany, there is a difference between serious music and entertainment music. The second one does receive less money when played by others. So, don't laugh at them when they play, they might get less lives!
You could tell El Condor was James' favorite. He was waiting for that piece the whole time; gave it the most time and he played it with so much passion. Those low notes on the flute sounded fantastic.

Tom and Jerry will forever be my favourite for making me fall in love with classical music. It's so good and clearly shows how even without dialogue the story or emotion can still be conveyed through the music and facial expressions. Wish more shows were like them.

The beauty of this presentation is that we were to hear with our eyes closed, you can feel the absolute tenderness of the pianist in harmony with the spiritual energy of the flutist, just like a perfect couple make in heaven. El Condor Pasa was my favorite. When it came out in 1970 and I was living in Saint Paul Minnesota I must’ve played that song 10 times a day and I still play it to this day. There are many people who play it really well and you to do, and I really admire the people who can play it’s in give people that feeling of peace and anticipation at the same time. Thank you for putting this in your songs of 10.

One good example of a song you hear all the time in old Looney Tunes cartoons but probably never knew the title was the one they used all the time to depict any kind of machinery in motion (i.e., factory settings). It was called Powerhouse, originally composed by Raymond Scott and adapted by Carl Stalling for Looney Tunes.

@@redtruth121 a lot of theatres, orchestras and other entertainment use it to signal to staff that there is an emergency and to start evacuating. It's the right tempo to move people in a quick but orderly fashion, and in America it is innocuous enough to not panic guests but alert staff because they're listening for it

I've heard many of these tunes in cartoons from the 40s and 50s. So basically I can thank the likes of Bugs Bunny and Tom & Jerry for some of my knowledge of classical music.
That's one of my biggest influences as well, just from the 90s... and my mom loves classical

I had a solo & Concerto for piano and flute... I have never ever in my life lost control of my tears on stage but I perfectly performed our part still in Tears. I was so embarrassed, I realized the flute is my kryptonite... I wasn’t aware that musically our completely different two instruments like soulmates hehehe....

That's why I laugh when people say it's not relevant to their lives. We wouldn't have soundtrack music/movie scores if it weren't for classical romantic, baroque etc. So much pop music borrows as well like that Maroon 5 song that's literally Canon in D and doesn't try to hide it.

I didn't know it was physically possible to play Stars and Stripes Forever without 300 brass instruments, symbols, and fireworks.
That part is actually the piccolo solo in Stars and Stripes.
Its because they are filming outside the United States. If you are inside the United States its illegal to not use a full brass section
Tom and Jerry will forever be my favourite for making me fall in love with classical music. It's so good and clearly shows how even without dialogue the story or emotion can still be conveyed through the music and facial expressions. Wish more shows were like them.
