It would have been nice if they molded the shell of Tokkah in brown plastic and painted the rest of the shell, that way you wouldnt have to worry about paint transfer.
there were two versions of the old playmates toys. the first were darker, movie colored. tokka was dark green. rahzar had black snout darker fur. then later on they made toon recolors. the tokka was light green with brown and rahzar had brighter clothes and a red coloration around his snout and eyes. their only appearance in the cartoon, they were eating. the device belongs to another character.
Both pronunciations were used for Rahzar in the movie. April said Rah, while the turtles, the professor and Shredder said Ray. I originally thought the difference came from Shredder and the turtles being dubbed while April actually said it on set, but the professor's pronunciation messes it up.
The wolf never spoke to me, the snapping turtle always made sense to my 7-year old self. Snapping turtles are known for preying on smaller turtles. The figure is also gorgeous. Thank you for the comparisons, as a father I had to quit collecting some time ago, so I only display a very select amount of figures from different lines in one tiny cabinet. Your channel is a great substitute to endless moneyguzzling collecting. These Neca turtle figures really speak to my kids, MLs look boring and uninspired to them and I can't blame them.

I just hope he’s available for targets geek out this coming Friday. Last year’s geek out didn’t have them & they just went up for international orders!: only to find out hours after launch, US residents were just ordering necas international stock…
I hope they re-release the movie versions. As amazing as these look, the movie ones are prey much perfect and I’d rather have those with my cartoon turtles than this version. If I see it, I will probably still pick up this pair in the meantime so I can try to find someone to trade. NECA Turtles and exclusives are the only things I still buy at Target. The 5% off Target Card makes it a bit easier to swallow the inflating prices, though Target appears to have discontinued the free 1% cash back program for Circle Members. Maybe because the invested too much into “June inventory” and had to eat almost a billion dollars in merchandise that nobody bought, dropping their year-over-year net earnings by 90%. It wasn’t “the economy”, as sales stayed the same- while Walmart increased their sales by 8.4%- almost exactly matching inflation, and net earnings by 20%.
They had a pre-order for the movie one on their site a few months ago and they're set to ship Q1 of 2023, so you might be able to find them in store around that time.
I never cared for Rahzar. He was supposed to be a wolf, but he was butt ugly. I've never seen a wolf with 3 toes. Now Tokka looked cool. He looked how I imagine an accurate mutated turtle would look. Spikes are also very cool.
