Hey MT you're my absolute favorite reviewer of all media. bro, you could tell me about the easter eggs found on the back of a cereal box and i'd be all about it. Been following you since your GOTG breakdowns. keep up the great work man.
Call me crazy if you want but the first TMNT is one of the greatest movies ever made.. think about it, they come to you and tell you to make a live action teenage mutant ninja turtles… no cgi.. and you knock it out of the park.. the turtles looked so good you could do close ups in full light with no issues.. it is like an impossible task but they pulled it off…
CGI wasnt an option back then and wasnt the only movie using animatronics. Gotta remember Alien was nearly a decade before this. What im tryna say is the imagination and creativity was there , just nobody ever made the animatronics be the main character. If you think about it they grabbed a muppet character and made a real human in costume carry it around filming it while other people animate the thing and voice it. the tools were there the whole time , the creativity from this people made it seems a whole new thing .
Ain't gonna lie, he was the single most Mirage thing in the entire movie. He's also one of the few humans we ever see affected by the mutagen (in an adaption where ooze doesn't turn you into an animal hybrid). I always wondered what he looked like under the mask.

Even as a kid, I never understood how Shredder's clothes and armor got super big when the ooze only affects your biological parts. But then again, I was a strange kid.
I had the same question. My mom just told me everything must have been made with Spandex 😂 And, hey, a lot of the time, smart and strange go hand in hand, for real.
@@Machete87rights issues too. We had Toka and Razhor because Bebop and Rocksteady were created for the cartoon and the movie only had rights for characters in the book.

It’s great to hear that someone is paying attention to all the little things behind-the-scenes and around the TMNT movie, but forgot to mention that the turtles were going around as a music group singing for the fans, which is the reason behind the turtle rap
I remember getting a bootleg VHS copy of it while on holiday, which was just before the film was going to be released, and it was the best thing ever to have that VHS and be able to watch it on holiday before the official release 🤩
17:58 Krang actually made an appearance in the 2003 series as one of the Utroms. Long before the 2012 series, it was an amazing callback to the original cartoon.🤘🏼
They gave an Utrom the name "Krang" as a nod to the 87 Cartoon. The 2012 Series Made the Kraang (yes spelled that way) a whole race than one being and were more brain shaped than the Utrom. I Think the Kraang and the Utrom should both exist in some version of a TMNT series and have the Utrom on earth as refugees from the Kraang who were a warring race on a planet in their solar system... at least, that's my idea. I get 2003 did something like that having Sh'rell being a criminal overlord Utrom, but you could have him and the Foot just be a similar species alltogether.

I remember going to school and feeling so cool I knew someone in a movie. 😆 Looking back a 45 years old shaking my head to my younger self.
I think Michelangelo’s Ralph Nader joke was meant as a reference to Nader’s commitment to environmental causes like cleaning garbage out of the ocean- specifically things like those plastic rings they put on six packs of soda cans, which animals can get caught in if not cut up and disposed of properly. One animal in particular often used as an example was… get ready… baby sea turtles. They crawl in, get caught, and as they grow, their shell becomes deformed and they die. i dont care who says what. the first 3 movies are the best out of all the movies. and the third i like more than the second.
I was totally one of those impressionable kids. Made nunchucks and katanas out of wood scraps and chains in my dad's garage.
I always figured Keno knew the turtles stayed with April because they took and paid for the Pizza that was being delivered to her apartment and she never called to ask where her Pizza was which was the dumbest thing the turtles could do seeing as how they are trying to lay low and not be discovered.
