We freeze whole lemon and limes for juicing and cocktails. Freeze coconut milk, cream. We always freeze leftovers for when you don't feel like cooking.
Since i bought a ceramic butter holder, butter can even stay on the counter and always be creamy and soft for fresh baked bread. What a solution this was 😊
Freeze your ginger and turmeric, then use a microplane zester to grate it into your dish without peeling it. Melts right into your dish without it being chunky unless you want chunks.
This is great! I am curious to know the why behind these techniques. Not a critique, just curious "why a silver spoon would help a cucumber last longer in the fridge". Might be completely obvious to some but... 🤷♀️😊
@@user-qk2pv7uu5gactually was a cucumber, but I believe the American variety that’s much larger and looks very zucchini like. Think it the type often used for pickles.
It helps to alleviate the temperature..just keep them separate from tomatoes, bananas & things like that bcuz of the ethylene in the fruits can cause the cucumber to ripen a lot faster
@@PaulaZFI love this idea. Because even when I label stuff I will still forget it's there. That happens because I don't go to the store that often so when I go I get what I need for a few weeks. Great suggestion!

@@user-qk2pv7uu5g I've seen people just pop the loose pack pre-washed boxes out of their freezers and grab handfuls to drop into their sauces. I was windblown because I had no idea that no other prep was needed before freezing.
The cucumber and the spoon??? Never knew that. Once I just chopped up one and put it in a glass container with a paper towel. It worked; it didn't dry out the slices, but also, I didn't leave it there for two weeks either. lol Nice video!
I like a lot of your ideas but it would be great to use a lot less plastic or none at all. Beeswax wraps are reusable and much more environmentally friendly. Or at least wash and reuse your plastic ziplock bags.
We have a baby koala in the fridge because it serves my baby girl when she.s hurting herself. When you have kids you become inventive 😂😂😂😂 Seriously, a kiss from koala and few cuddles can heal EVERYTHING 😂
Plastic waste will be nothing compared to ALL THE PHONES, CORDS, COMPUTERS , BATTERIES USED TO OPERATE TECH, LITHIUM BATTERIES, ALL THE TECHIE GADGETS arriving in our landfills in the very near future....😢
@@JeffandLaurenShow Aah! Of course! I've bought frozen before, but they always come out soggy, but maybe if they're fresh...?🤔 Stay happy, healthy and safe!😊
Wrap each pepper (red, yellow, orange or green) individually in Glad Cling N Seal Wrap, don't wash the peppers! Put the peppers in your produce drawer, this works really well at keeping the peppers fresh for a longer period of time.
You can wash and reuse foil. If I use the same ziplock in the freezer for cheese or spinach, I leave it folded in the freezer door when its empty. I never leave it out.
Most people reuse bags, and a little piece of foil or paper towels isn't going to cancel the value saved. All those tips show food with multiple servings in one package, not like she's going to go open it up to use it all at once.
Majority of people don't have the time, care, space, etc to do that, plus this video was not just about herbs. It's saving money by preventing the food you purchased from going bad.
So cool. Thanks for this. I will do this with the lemons in a jar of water and all the great tips. 👍 yes, butter has a very special place on its own. 👑 . 😅 the salads I get go bad quickly and strawberries. Was that a cucumber 🥒 or a zucchini you put with the big spoon 🥄 🤔 and the celery and bread 🍞 idea awesome 👌 👏 im so glad I found your video. 👋 👋 sweet ideas. ✌️.
I actually wash and reuse my plastic zip lock bags. I don’t want them at the land fill, if possible. Once I don’t use them for my food items, I will start to use them for around the house. Ie storing Lego, puzzle (because the box broke), toy/game pieces... etc. I also use them in the car for children clothing, so if we are on the road and they get dirty, I have clean clothes for them to change into. But I don’t know if it is safe to use the bags so much like that though, especially after using it for food? But so far, we have not had issues. The only time I throw them out is if there is a hole in them or if my kids rip it accidentally when they try to open the zipper, which does happen on occasion.
объясните, пожалуйста, зачем покупать сразу 6 лимонов и думать, как их лучше хранить, если можно покупать по одному и иметь всегда свежий? 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
And how much of your "savings" are spent with this awful amount of kitchen towel, one way plastic etc? 😂😂 Buy only as much as you need - THAT saves money!
Id rather do these things if it means keeping food fresh for longer. And yes, everyone has time to. The same ones who say they hv no time spend hours on Tik Tok every single day😂
Tried the celery tinfoil one. I seriously still have celery from 3 months ago. I found that trimming and cleaning the stalks works better than not.
I don't need it to last longer, I just need someone to cook it all for me 😂
Saaaame! Me too.....me tired from cooking for other people, somebody else's turn 😂
@@SheriN1442For real!😂
I need it cheaper, to begin with!
Amen to that!!!
We freeze whole lemon and limes for juicing and cocktails. Freeze coconut milk, cream. We always freeze leftovers for when you don't feel like cooking.
Do all that and open the fridge door once... instead of a dozen times.
Wow!! The internet was really GOOD for something today!!😂 These are great tips!!

Especially Kerrygold butter, the best in the world.
Not falling for sales gimmicks that make people think buying more is cheaper is one of the best ways to save money.
That’s a great point! Always be a smart shopper!
Do the math and if it actually benefits you then go for it. It's the mathing part that tricks people 10 for $20 is more expensive than 3 for $5
This is too damn much 😂😂😂.
If you actually use or eat it all, it's not a gimmick.
The aluminum foil hack works for cilantro too!!! Keeps 3-4x as long!
Good to know! Thank you!
Aluminum oil is toxic.
Thank you this information is great and needed. ❤
You can put the lemon rind in the freezer for smoothies
A carrot peeler would probably be easier for the ginger.
Nope. The spoon is way better. It's easier and leaves the "meat" behind.
As a chef, spoon is better. Peeler takes off too much.
Freeze your ginger and turmeric, then use a microplane zester to grate it into your dish without peeling it. Melts right into your dish without it being chunky unless you want chunks.
I use the lemon zest technique for ginger, too. I buy a bunch, peel, then grate it and freeze it flat.
If you put a bowl of ketchup in the freezer then wrap your refrigerator in cling wrap you will eat less.
If you cant get though cling wrap eating is the least of your worries ❤😂😂
It’s ok we are having take away fish and chips. Oh the tomato ketchup is in the fridge 🤣🤣🤣
Too funny 😂😂😂😂
Brilliant!!
Solid strategy I guess 😂
The tip about how to store plain bagels is very helpful to me and my family. Thank you.

Was zucchini no cucumber

So the science I read behind it has to do with helping temperature regulation. Found it in an old almanac and was surprised that it worked for me!

You don't actually need paper or cups in the muffin tins. Just use a spray or grease with butter. No need to use all that parchment paper.
Did anyone else see the beaver stuffed animal inside the fridge? 😳
If I did that all the stuff would go moldy because i forgot about it because i can't immediately see what's inside when I open the fridge!
Label each package and put the date on it 🙂
Use a whiteboard marker on the outside of the fridge to make a list of what’s in there and a date.

I think we should avoid aluminium foil at all and a lot of plastic with food. Then we have aluminium and plastic in our food. Buy less waisted less.
I did not know about the aluminum foil trick for celery. But I will try it. I usually get my celery and cut the stalks up and put into water.
