    Excellent product! Couldn’t be happier! Thanks Brian! Remember to smoke the mold a lot. It helps with casting lines and of course release. I was staying patient as Brian told me they are swamped having it two weeks later and I’m a happy customer! Thanks again! Edit: I’ve found that CCI, Remington, Winchester, New Norma and some shorts I reloaded work with no resizing needed. I only have issues with Federal casings. Side note, I use the 25 grain for 3 things. They work as a “stinger” type round a 22 short and I also have great performance from them in a break barrel 22 springer.

    In s.e. Georgia the humidity is high, almost year-round. For other situations, I have left items that need to dry in a closed plastic container that had a dehumidifier. These are chemical traps that you can get from the dollar store and remove moisture from the air once activated. I've got a big one in my gun safe.

    Be a lot faster if the compound were a thin paste dropped in the base and the casing spun to 10,000 rpm for a split second in a 1/4" rotary tool. You'd want to use a keyless chuck adapter that can take the .22 case. It would make quick and very uniform work of using centrifugal force to sling the compound into the rim where it belongs. Hint: Factories do this.

    • @bilbo_gamers6417
      @bilbo_gamers6417 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. It would be a lot faster. However this is actually surprisingly reliable. I have done this several times doing my own research testing 22 repriming, and you can pack match head powder into a case rim by hand and it'll work 100% of the time. If you have a lathe or a pneumatic rotary tool, then this is probably better, but for those who don't, this manual method certainly works.

    Why has nobody thought of making a serioud version of this for 22 magnum? It's mostly a novelty to reload 22 long rifle, but reloading 22 magnum can genuinely be kind of useful, because 22 magnum can be a fairly potent round, and someone might genuinely be interested in experimenting with it.

    Well my 1st try was a dud. Used the Prime All, did the exact scoops, used aceatone Went by all the instructions, no short cuts, or substitutes. Packed the rim, even let it dry for a few days. Then added shotshell powder, and crimped projectile. Stuck it in my S&W 9 shot revolver (which has a hard hitting hammer), and "click". No Bang! waited about a minute, spun the bullet (to try hitting another spot on the rim), still nothing. Spun it again, still nothing. Idk, maybe I did something wrong. I'll try another one later. Next time I'll try just priming the rim, and fire the empty shell to see if it works.

      @@CanabalasianFury i didn't load the shell. Just test fired the primers in an empty casing. The prime all primers hardly make a snap sound. Factory primers sound like fire crackers going off. All the primers made from prime all either do nothing or they just make a weak pop.

    • @bilbo_gamers6417
      @bilbo_gamers6417 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly, it might now have been you or the powder. Reloading 22 can be a huge pain and unreliable. One thing I might recommend however is that you mix some nail varnish in with the powder to cement it. It might be that the powder fell out of the rim because it wasn't affixed in.

  • @Whistler84
    @Whistler84 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Question 1: Have you tried powder coating the bullets? For velocities and twists where you normally use copper plated .22 LR that would be the boss, but I'd think the heel of the bullet would need to be smaller since you can't size that?
    Question 2: What does the priming compound consist of? I imagine you won't ship the compound internationally, so I'd have to be able to source it locally since I'm in Scandinavia.

    • @thewatcher611
      @thewatcher611 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Zinc is your enemy, other than that, it's finding a temp that works for your mold. If your lead is castable, it will not be hard enough to hurt your barrel. I've see sinkers loaded into 12 gauge as buckshot, so yeah, it works, it's lead. PPL cast sinkers with the same ingot that will cast a bullet.
