I kept the swirl flaps on my M47, but I cleaned the whole manifold system (using your video on that subject) and removed the EGR so only air and oil are coming to the manifold. It’s been ~110k km since then, manifold is still perfectly clean and flaps are holding strong 💪🏻

Hope you’re enjoying that extra power, I’ve an F25 35D with twin scroll turbo, mapped to 375 hp and 650NM and it pulls like a train, well worth doing 👍
Will be taking it for a good proper drive soon!

The m57 sd (twin turbo) has meaty meaty injectors and can essily be tuned to 400 with bolt ons.

Hi George I'm new to BMW's I bought a really nice 2008 series 5 e61 M57 engine I bought new swirl flaps gaskets and blanking plug to find out that this does not have them it's a early 2008 I was informed it was only the later model that were discontinued. Just a quick question is it illegal to blank of egr and other items fitted when taking it for the MOT. Cheers.
EGR and DPF delete is technically illegal👍🏻
This is never cheap to do turbo and tuning sessions with custom mapping only thing I ll do myself after this is the gearbox fluid the diff and an oil change possibly add fresh coolant , enjoy the beast waiting on road test
I have a 35D that needs all the deletes and a remap. Starts with 286, so it should be similar output as I probably won’t touch the turbos or intercooler. Despite twin turbos, it does still have awful lag. I hope the work will clear out some of that. It’s in my queue… 😀

Common for the smaller turbo to become lazy you should have full torque from 1700rpm I believe.
@@piovo5222 thanks, yeah, it’s a bit higher than than before it all takes off. I can hear the whistle now too on overrun, there might be a leak somewhere or a problem with the throttle body.

do you have 6 speed transmission or 8 speed transmission? im planing this car but im not sure which transmission to pick

So the turbo you installed also failed? Was it due to oil in the system?
It didn’t fail, it just had play in the shaft👍🏻
@@GeorgeAusters was the return process easy enough? Kind of scared to buy a turbo from them now.
If you don’t mind me asking. How much did the tuning set you back? Not including the turbo.

Hi, George have got roughy idea how much a specialist will charge to delete the EGR and Cooler on my 535d.
Not sure but I did do a video installing the delete kit👍🏻
Had a ECU and gearbox remap, with a Upgraded MTC intercooler and a KN filter. Got to 392bhp and 737nm. Only problem is traction now. Wish I had the luxury of 4WD, the torque is brutal, gets too hairy on damp roads.
Never delete egr cooler, risk of overheating.
I’ve deleted the EGR and cooler on all my cars

Is that legal with no dpf?. I'd like to delete the dpf on my e61, but only if it would still pass an emissions test.
If your engine is healthy and the map is good then it should pass an MOT no problem👍🏻

Is it illegal to remove EGR and DPF?
Although it is not illegal to remove the EGR from your vehicle, it is an offence under the Road vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations (Regulation 61a(3))1 to use a vehicle which has been modified in such a way that it no longer complies with the air pollutant emissions standards it was designed to meet. Stop listening to Amateurs who do not know the LAW

Im getting an error code im told relates to the dpf being end of life.....

He had to buy it off him mate as George knackered the big turbo on it trying to tune it. No clue

You'll need a new clutch shortly. Standard clutch will start to slip from 3rd gear upwards, when you plant your right foot.
It’s an auto👍🏻
Torque Convector will most likely slip then.
@@AlanRafferty these have a 6HP28 healthy ones easy hold 1000nm all day everyday, there's many in Europe with 1200nm and still no slipping.
@@piovo5222not true. I have a 2011 and 150k it started slipping and throwing trans codes. Just a matter of time now till another trans or rebuild. There’s that and the timing chain issue.
@@casperyourfriendlyghost7552 I said a healthy one mate😂 yours has 150k and probs never been serviced and since yours is the 2011 it will have the 8HP which is far better gearbox. As for timing chains yours has N57 not M57 like in this video and it’s known for chains to go on N57s not like M57s

Reman units are a waste of time in fact reman engines are not what they appear. I told you a few weeks back this vehicle is illegal on the road and you said its a track car ?? So which is it ? PS why is it on false plates ???????? DY58 XOU
