Looks like it goes well 👍 Id personality get the xhp map done on the gear box now. Increases clamping pressure and line pressures to cope with the extra power now going through it. It made a world of difference on my e60.
Are you running stage 3? I've had it on my E61 for almost a year now, love it! Nothing too full-on in D but sports is fairly aggressive. Great mod though and an easy DIY. 👌

@Bryce Brown yeh stage 3 all the way. Mine has the paddles option so when in manual it no longer upshifts automatically which makes it more fun for certain activities 🙈🙃
Have the same E70 with 360 hp and 750nm twin turbo. Feels fast, but the chassis deals with the power very well. It is a lot faster then you notice. You can go ridiculously fast and play with the radio. Maybe due to active suspension and m package

I had a 3.0sd twin turbo, which was not slow. But I am sure this is great. Unfortunately my chain broke, which is something you may want consider changing.

If you still use 20-25 years old EU laws no changes are allowed! Short and simple. It's another thing if MOT would disassemble the "engine" and check every detail to see if they can find anything that isn't quite original. So, in fact, laws are one thing, and the reality is a quite different (!) thing in this case!

George I have a 63 plate/2013 f11 520d msport but I do fancy an X5 as my next car, I spend most of my days in me vivaro like but I get in the BM and it's just a dream to drive, totally standard like and it's only done 105 000 miles just, love the content mate hope you and the Mrs are well! 👍

BMW have called for it to go in for egr cooler and driver airbag to be replaced too which I need to book in for... As standard the X5 30sd (35d) feels quick, and as large SUVs go it probably one of the sportier feeling setups but I would think much more power would be a little scary to drive with all that mass. Great to see what's possible. How does it change the economy if at all George? Mine averages 25 mpg as standard.

Would be interesting to know if you disconnect the vacuum line going to the swirl flaps, if you would notice a difference in low down torque? Should be quite quick and easy to do and shouldn’t put on MIL. Only asking as I have an m57 engine and was considering reinstalling swirl flaps(on my engine they stay closed up to 2000rpm) Cheers
Unplugging the flaps should leave them open and thus not create the swirl affect of the intake air they were designed to make. Your torque below 2000rpm would be decreased.

Nice video George and good results. I only had 400 bhp from my TT Supra running 1.2bar, so this puts it into perspective. Am curious about one thing though knowing the rep of the auto boxes on e53s and e70s, it will be interesting to see if one of your next videos is upgrading the transmission. Hopefully you won't have issues but this is the reason my last 2 e53s have been manual. I have a E63 635d and have been looking at doing similar mods, but it's mainly the high mileage transmission that is causing me to hesitate at the moment. Anyhow, nice mods, enjoy.
@@k-9k-97 Gutted means the internals have been removed, which can often be done with no external visual clues. This will still pass an MOT for emissions. However if you have physically removed the DPF unit then it *should* be noticed and failed.

You don't seem to be answering the elephant in the room and a question numerous people have asked you. Given EGR and DPF delete is illegal in the UK this would fail a UK standard MOT test on emissions and soot particulates?. Can you explain how you are getting round this?.. otherwise everyone with DPF issues would just delete it, given its far cheaper than a new DPF ?
@@dansmith1846if tester can't prove it's gutted, they have to take it at face value, if you were to completely cover the engine bay top and bottom including any place where the dpf may be visible, then tester has to give benefit of doubt and can only advise that engine covers fitted and some components can't be examined. I regards to the emissions, it's not actually an emissions test on a diesel its an opacity test so as long as the car doesn't bellow loads of smoke it could still theoretically pass the test. Hope this helps
So basically if you can't see the testable item you can't physically remove the covering to test it. So you could cover any faults and the presenter is well within their rights to do that it's their car. The not tester has to give the benefit of doubt and can only advise.

I have the Sutphin tune on my 35d malone 2.9. Sport mode is ferocious!

The ZF auto boxes are generally a lot stronger than the older GM ones in the E53s 👍🏻

Old M50d has around 375 bhp (Tri-Turbo) and newer models have 400 (Quad-Turbo). Yours will be a little quicker than an X5 40d but not the 50d.
Pretty similar figures to the triple turbo one then.. Think this has more torque than that did! (775nm)

It passed its MOT absolutely fine and will do so if the engine is healthy and not smoking👍🏻
Dpf has to bee there visually also. So unless yours is there but gutted. Then u have a dodgy mot
