  • Thank You For Watching. Please Dont Forget To Like Also. Peace and Respect.
(GOOD WING CHUN = GOOD SIFU) (GREAT WING CHUN = GREAT SIFU/LINEAGE = GREAT STUDENT)
I dont claim to be the best because everyone is best at something. I havent been on a wooden dummy a while, just trying to remember my wooden dummy form on someone else's wooden dummy. Taken somewhere in Sapang Palay, Bulakan, Philippines.THE MOVEMENTS ARE JUST FORM MOVEMENTS AND NOT ACTUAL FIGHTING APPLICATIONS. APPLICATION IS DIFFERENT WHERE POWER AND SPEED ARE ALSO EXECUTED. THEY ARE NOT EMPHASIZED HERE ON THE FORM. actual application behind each movement are not shown here. Thank you.
    Wing Chun Syllabus
Level 1& 2 - Beginner/Foundation Level - Sil Lum Tao (小念頭 Little Idea)
Level 3 - Intermediate Level - Chum Kiu (尋桥 Bridging the Gap)
Level 4 - Advanced Level - Biu Ji (标指 Thrusting Fingers)
Level 5 - Trainee Instructor Level - Mook Yan Jong (木人樁 Wooden Dummy)
Level 6 - Assistant Instructor - Look Dim Boon Grun (六点半杆 Dragon Pole/ 3 1/2 Point Pole, 6 1/2 Point Pole)
Level 7 - Instructor Level - Baat Jam Dao (八斩刀 Butterfly Swords/Eight Cut Swords)
You can not become a Professional Boxer overnight by watching Manny Pacquiao or Lloyd Mayweather fight, everyone knows that. You join a club that will teach you how to box and put in hours to years practice.
My point is some people watch and copy wing chun forms and think they are masters already. Yes its easy just to copy but to know the meaning behind each movement can not be copied but taught (there are 108 movements per form and each movement has multiple applications and when combined with other movements multiplies to more applications). Besides you may think you are doing it right but I am 100% sure you are not.
I used to copy them too. I had full sets of them 1st form to wooden dummy forms from different masters. Yes I got the sequence right but the movements looked wing chun to me but to a real practitioner... NOT. I knew I was wrong when I finally joined a club. I did not see my mistakes at first but only later on when I learned the deeper or real aspects of Wing Chun, I realized I was only fooling myself early on by copying videos. I realized I made a funny monkey out of myself by copying them especially performing in front of my kung fu brothers. One can not learn by watching, actually embarrassing like I embarrassed myself in front of my kung fu brothers.
It is a PACKAGE with not only forms but instructions, ideas, concepts, principles most of all touch.
Wing Chun is not complete without CHI SAU and chi sao is about touching, feel, sensitivity to energy, reading intentions through touch and feel. These are not in the forms. Forms are just a guidelines or reference point. Wing Chun is not 100% forms. Its only a fraction of less than 1 %. 99.9% are concepts, principles and chi sao, drills and applications including sparring. You can say only 0.1% is form.
Obviously when I realized I was making a fool of myself copying videos, I stopped doing it and started taking instruction from my master and senior brothers who are/were far more advanced than me. More importantly I found the instructions from those videos to be wrong and taking me to a WRONG direction.
My advice if you wish to learn Wing Chun find a master to teach you because Wing Chun is a hands on touch hands experience. Its the only way and no other way of learning Wing Chun.
WE TEACH COMPLETE TRADITIONAL YIP MAN WING CHUN SYSTEM AND LEE SHING GULAO OR KULO OR SIDE BODY OR WOMAN WING CHUN

hurt or be hurt. that is contact sport its brutal and no mercy until theres a winner, even in a draw someone still get hurt. but i dont do contact sport, i do self defense only. only as a last resort, only if all options to avoid a fight is no longer available, when there is no other option but to defend myself only then i have to eliminate that danger by any means. in training wing chun there is no reason to hurt anyone or get hurt by anyone. training to fight without getting hurt. you get your body physically conditioned as in stronger in the process too. its hard work but its worth it. but i stress theres no pain in training wing chun kung fu and there's a lot to gain like physical and mental strength with all the fighting skills too. thank you and much respect to all martial artist.

thanks for the likes. i dont know you but thank you for the effort. thank you for the dislike or thumbs down too.(though there is not one yet i am expecting one or more sooner or later) if you did not like it you must have a reason. and any reason is valid good and bad.i take them both good and bad and learn from them. to be honest the forms looks absolutely nothing, just 108 movements. its the actual applications that matters really. they are really effective and brutal too worse than mma but i can not show you on youtube. they are hidden in the form.they can not be seen, only in applications that makes them effective fighting movements, multiple usage too not just one or two but many applications, endless even. and only those who attend lessons that i teach them how and proper but never in public as in here on youtube and i dont make videos of them too not even for money. just for me and my students. i dont mind doing the forms on youtube because the intentions are hidden anyway. those with knowledge will know what they are those that dont i can not show you here but there are plenty on youtube that teach online. personally i dont recommend it though because wing chun is learnt only by touch not by sight.sight helps but not much.

i saw this wooden dummy on youtube which lead me to meet a fellow practitioner. i wanted a remembrance with it so here it is. the design is different so i have to adjust as i went along. good experience and a story to tell.

i approached this wooden dummy with care because it was new to me and the design was different that was probably why i went slow and easy as supposed to be fast and powerful. if i hit harder i felt the dummy would fall or fly even though the base is weighted with extra weights also the leg if i kicked hard it may split also if i swept it proper i would have cut myself thats why i kept a gap when i swept under it. all in all good experience still and its captured on video.

I RESPECT ALL FORMS OR STYLES FROM KARATE TO TAI CHI HOWEVER BIG OR SMALL THEY HAVE THEIR WON MERITS. BUT TO WING CHUN HATERS DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE GO AND WATCH SOMETHING ELSE.

first time i have touched a wooden dummy for more than a year since leaving London for Philippines. i like the design so i made one like it in baguio city but my arms longer and made from natural wood with unique character.

a true artist will never hurt anyone not for competition not for money. mma and other contact sports might be for those seeking for fame and money and good luck to them. i watch them hurt and get hurt but thats for them but not for everyone certainly not for me. i trained in karate and thai boxing then later on wing chun but purely for self defense and certainly not to hurt anyone through sparring or competition. wing chun provide safety in training even in sparring.i learned how to fight good without getting hurt myself or hurting anyone. to you might be impossible but that is you or your experience but certainly not mine and not me.

+Wing Chun Phoenixifist there is no wing chun in the philippines. i brought a wooden dummy to a park where we trained. most have positive attitude or just turn their heads but there is always someone that knows best. there was a professional boxer (i was told he was anyway) he said the wood has no use to him. to him maybe but to me it has many usefulness. i asked him to spar with me so he could show me his speed and power he was telling me, he showed me from a distance punching the air, i said come here do it to me but he would not come near me. he said he would come back tomorrow. i never saw him back and i was there the following day as a matter and everyday after. i spar without hurting anyone and thats the beauty of wing chun, all about control. you can actually control the person you are fighting with. if i intentionally want to hurt, yes they would get hurt but i dont. there is no need to hurt you. i can practice all my skills without hurting anyone.

Performing the techniques in wooden dummy must execute properly with proper posture.. Some Filipinos performing wing chun isn't executed properly... I Joseph Nanoz a Filipino also learning The Wing Chun Martial Art.. I can show the proper way to perform the 116 techniques of the Wooden Dummy. research, know the history.. Have respect to Grandmaster Yip Man. one of this video performing the wooden dummy training the opponent will be the winner. In short Lousy performance.
