Nice review. The DE v Talisker 10 would be interesting given they’re both on profile for Talisker.
I’ll record this one once I’m back! 👍 have a few videos uploaded and waiting from a while ago for the next month so will probably be on the channel late August time but I’ll try and record this one in the next week or two for sure and I’m excited to compare the two too!

Cheers Jon! Yes I think the port’s uniqueness took the win for me too although the DE definitely feels more talisker DNA and I think takes the edge with complexity. Posted my challenge video last Wednesday - excited to see your picks! It made me realise I don’t have too many speyside or lowland whiskies!

Jean and I haven't spent enough time with Talisker. We need to track more of the down. Really nice advice here. Picking one up for uniqueness and one up for complexity. That's great advice. I'd lean to the Port Ruighe for the uniqueness. Cheers to ya.

This is a hard one for me to decide. The DE being thicker,"darker" and more complex and PR being sweet and light. I think they're still a bit too similar. I can see why you think DE is the middle between 10yo and, PR. But the watery mouthfeel is reminding me of the 10yo, even though the 10yo for me is saltier and smokier than the PR. But I also think DE is more complex than the 10yo. I'm comparing with the newest release of the 10yo wich for me is sweeter, less salty and less smoky than the older 10yo.
But I think I'll choose DE 6 times out of 10 over PR...probably 😂
The war between DE and the 10yo is going to be exciting.
The war between either one of these against Dark Storm will be legendary 😂

Haha I definitely have that dark storm in my notes from your recommendation! I’ll record the DE vs. 10 in the next week or two :) but since I have some older videos ready to go for the next month it may get posted late August.
I think you’re right with what you say about the DE vs the 10, I’m probably going to say similar things but I am excited about warring the two of them soon. Yeah I was torn about which to give the win today but I ultimately found the port to be slightly more unique and I can use it as a summer relaxing sipper more than I can the DE so I think that’s the reason it took the win, close though! The DE definitely has some pro’s over the PR
