Great demonstration! Out-of-the-box settings are there for the beginner. It is set to allow the new player to find targets and dig less trash. This allows them to start to enjoy the sport and not get frustrated. The manufacturers want the new client to keep using it and not return it for a refund. We all see those people with comments saying the machine is erratic and unusable. They have convinced themselves that they just bought a defective device. It is normal for a beginner to crank up the setting to unearth grand and glorious treasures from ancient civilizations. A year later these settings are their presets.
@IffySignals this is my reasoning for ordering a deus II tomorrow. I've debated between the deus, excalibur and manticore but I scuba dive alot so it makes the most sense for me
How do they act with 11 inch coils. You can get a Deus with a 9 in coil with a Manticore you need to buy the 9 in so it’s really not out of the box it’s an extra couple hundred plus bucks.
I love the manticore especially on salt beaches here in Ct and RI I use the low conductor no discrimination with my 9” coil it’s so light and works great I got a 1916 merc it’s a S mint a silver crucifix first time out with the new coil.
Nice Video! My son and i both use etracs. We do pretty well with them. I have developed radial tunnel syndrome from riding a dirt bike. The etrac is getting heavy for me. Im guessing you have used an etrac and know what it is like? Would you rather have a manticore or a Deus ii? I know there are several variables to consider and it might not be a super easy question to answer. We hunt for mainly silver US coins. Parks, old schools and old home sites. With that information, could you give me your recommendation? We are basically coin shooters...These are expensive so i would like to buy the best fit for me on the first try. Thanks for any information you could provide!
I think as a coin shooter you would really like the Manticore. The VDI scale is allot wider on coins and the 2d screen really helps. On the D2 the high conductor coins are pretty bunched up in the 80-90 id range.
9” Deus coil vs 11” Manticore is not really a fair comparison, and should have been mentioned. Shocked to see the Manticore does not hit the Gold at all, in stock general settings.
What reel is on your Manticore? Manticore is supplied to our market with other reels, they are not at all similar to the one in the video. Yours looks like it is from Deus 2. I am from Russia.

Hi, just got the manticore; and had a question if you don't mind. When I am in all metal, does that override the mode settings? I mean, can I be in all terrain general and still be in all metal, or any other mode and still be in all metal? Do the different modes affect the all metal setting? Just wondering and thanks for your time!

Just recently bought the Manti.... so, I am no expert on it. But.... Top right of page 58 in the manual - "All Metal mode disables the Disc pattern.... All Metal is global, and is Off by default". So the answer to your question is yes.

Depends on your budget. Low end look at the Nokta Triple Score, Minelab Elite, Nokta Legend. High end the Minelab Manticore, Equinox, XP Deus 2.

I different stick away from General on the XP Deus 2, just does not seem to work well for me. Did you try Sen or SenFT on this test?
Sensitive stock hits it, sensitive ft you need to drop the silencer. Stock its at 3.

On the manticore you can factory reset each program or the whole machine.

Hey Linda, all settings remain. It just opens the discrimination pattern.

I heard its pretty rough out there. 8” dime is normal here, 10” if you push the machine.
