Avenger #1's don't really sell for insane prices (6 figures) until maybe you get to the top of grade. That Avengers didn't do too badly considering an 8.5 sold just sold this month for $19800 and another 8.5 sold in April for $18,000. I've been trying to collect a few Avengers below issue #50 or so, and they've been taking a beating, but, of course, #1 is a different beast. I think the Hulk #1 probably got dinged on the tanning because, otherwise, it doesn't seem to be tooooo bad a copy. Thanks for the episode!
