Though it’s been a few years since you’ve posted, your videos have helped me the most to help me decide to go ahead and get surgery. After 30 years of suffering with back pain, one day I couldn’t walk at all. You have explained things so well... thank you so much. ❤️

Praying for you. Your videos were so helpful for the prep for my recent microdiscectomy 10 days ago. My biggest fear is to have a reherniation. You will do fabulous and feel so much better in a few days. 🙏🙏

A couple of things you said rang a bell with me. The first is that you are an overthinker, and I'm like that; I can see many possible outcomes resulting from any particular action, many of them not positive ones, which understandably can cause more anxiety than it might in some other people. The second is that I've had seven various surgeries/procedures so far (I do NOT want another one, but generally life doesn't work that way), and before every one of them the scheduling came to the moment where I would be at the point of saying to the doctor: "If you don't do this RIGHT NOW, I'll do it myself!" Your advice on realizing that surgery is the right thing to do is well taken.

I am going thru the same thing right now and the surgery word has been thrown out there...I think you did such a fabulous job with your videos..I have been trying to see if there is someone else going thru what I'm going thru and you are it! I hope your surgery went well..would love to message you to ask some other questions...👍

I appreciate any advice. I had a 2 unit fusion L4-5 S-1 two and a half years ago and healed great, was painfree. Until 2 months ago, was pulling 2 grocery carts apart and herniated L3-4 bad. Have a new surgery scheduled for Nov 27, ‘19. I’m scared. Need new hardware, and sounds more involved. Any advice or experience.

Hi … my name is Jill I’m 52 .. have back issues for a while now… long story short I’ve seen 2 surgeons.. the first consult was either an orthopedic spine surgeon,, the 2nd was with a neurosurgeon. Basically both said that I need to have a laminectomy with a fusion at level 4/5. I also have faucet disease along with generative joint disease, as well as spondyolesis which means that I have a shift or spine instability with a 6 mm cyst pressing on my l5…… I don’t want the fusion because I would like to keep my mobility as I workout 6 days a week and don’t want to lose my mobility… I feel so scared… like u, I wonder if I “need the surgery” or thinking that my pain is tolerable enough. I have no one to talk to about this… not at all sure what to do at this point….😢

I have a herniated disk as well! I've had it for 2 years. I've been working throughout the pain, since I work in a non stressful job.

I wish you luck! I had a microdisc and laminectomy 6 months ago and I just got a reherniation a few weeks ago. You’re not alone!

Paul Gorman how did it happen? Were you strengthening core, etc? Always terrifies me, just had surgery a month ago myself

It turns out to be a mild central disc protrusion. It’s on my l5 S1 and it’s has been there for a about a year now. Good news is it is shrinking but still hurts a lot.

      Work that core daily

Turns out it is my SI joint and a tilted pelvis. The symptoms can mirror a herniated disc. Both my GP and surgeon could not figure it out, but my chiropractor knew what it was right away. Back surgery and the issue from it are the worst.
