    I agree 100% that the pain gets so bad you can't wait for surgery. There is really no choice! Good on you Chrystal for all these videos. They help and have helped me immeasurably.

    Crystal it seems like 10000 steps is a lot. After listening to your early videos you helped me decide on the surgery. I had it one year ago next month, and still having some issues walking, one of things my surgeon said was to walk but not to much it takes time for the body to adjust to the changes of the procedure. I do remember him saying to stay off the treadmill. I wish you the all best in your recovery thanks for your updates.

    Nerves have memory. We take discomfort and no nerve compression.
    Make sure when fusion gets done in the future screws do not migrate to touch layers of spinal
    Cord.

    Hahah this is so true 14:00 I was exactly like this. For 7 months I was in pain and got almost disabled to walk at all and I slowly started to go crazy. And then I called my doctor and said I want my surgery as soon as possible because I can't take it anymore. It's now my third day after surgery, thank God I have no nerve pain at all, like it never existed but my incision is hurting bad ass, but I will hold on. If I could live with terrible leg pain for 24 hours for 7 months then I can also survive few weeks of incision pain.

    Wow. You are so right. I am 6 weeks out of a huge discectomy that went down from l4/5 and it went down a second level. So much leg pain. I was ready to chop it off as you said!!

    Thanks for sharing! You are inspiring me to not be afraid. When I had 4 surgeries in less than a year, for other issues. Right now, i can’t sit for long. I can only stand and lay down and walk some.

    • @anneah1
      @anneah1 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      CDJ714 I've had double laminectomies, discectomy, 5 weeks ago, very successful in eliminating major nerve pain, now finding I CAN sit, for increasing time, if I use a special chair. It has support built in. It is an incredible relief when I sit in it, like nothing I could imagine. Didn't think it wd work when we got it sight unseen, but it really does. Wish I had one for every room. It has a lift function and lays back but I just sit in it. For other spots I want to sit in I got some support cushions, rally for the car but I can put them in any chair and they are also very supportive. Good luck.

    If you have more issues in the future at that level, please lookup artificial disc replacement.

    Walk in water slow that will suffice as exercise, control sugar intake

    Check out total disk replacement over fusion. It’s a newer surgical method.

    When we get injured out of nothing and herniate that easy we must pay attention to
    Instability of the spine

    I too had terrible shaking for two days post surgery. Then it went. Only when I lay down it returns faintly. But actually, I used to get it (for years) and wonder why it is only now becoming more frequent. The restless leg syndrome is (and always has been) in my case exacerbated when I don't eat leafy greens. I HAVE to have some daily or I got the restless leg. In hospital they didn't give me any for the full 5 days. Th RL got bad. Now I'm home I'm back on the greens. Try it. Give it a week. Real green, not pale lettuce. IM talking spinach, silver beet. If you can bear it, kale (yuk).

    Hey, I been following your videos and they been really helpful. Did you numbness ever go away after the first surgery and 2nd. I had surgery 9/16/22 and my main symptoms were numbness in my left foot. I wanted to see if you had any luck with the numbness getting better after surgery. Thanks.

    What pain meds were you on? I’m taking 800 mg ibuprofen 3 times a day and it’s stopping me from getting steroids shots or surgery but when I don’t take ibuprofen my blood pressure shots up to 180/101 and I get shakes so bad and head banging and my heart rate went up to 150 with panic attacks

    Hi, I have Spondylothesis. Surgery is recommend. I don't have major pain, but my feet is numb on the right side.I will have a fusion. You vehemently don't want a fusion. What do you have against a fusion?
    Also, how long before you went back to work both times? I am a teacher and I would like to be back at work in 8 weeks.
    I'm glad you are doing better.

      Fusion is when they are putting hardware into your spine. There is alot that can go wrong and can cause alot of problems later on in life. Just Google complications os a fusion.

    • @andicksoful
      @andicksoful 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Quality of life becomes reduced drastically. Movement, walking, so fusion is last ditch effort to help and it stinks, it just stinks.

    Hi Crystal how are you now. I'd like to hear some update from you about the numbeness. I just had the same surgery ang it was my 2nd time having the surgery as well. My surgeon told me that it will take 3 months to remove the numbness.

    Silly question but is it possible to herniate when you have intercourse? I’m single and don’t want to even think about being in a relationship b/c I have a fear of it. I also have a herniation on the L4/L5 level. I recently fell as I was walking down the stairs ~ I was wearing socks and I don’t have a runner. 😔😕

    Sweetheart try Water exercises! Check my channel!
    I actually had mine first surgery 9 days ago . Guilty of picking up heavy objects around the house.
    To everyone: consider being at the pool everyday! This is decompressing to our spine. Hope everyone gets better!
