Ahhhh thankyou for this video. I first stayed there nearly twenty years ago fleeing the bombings in Bali..... What an incredible place it is. The food was truly amazing....A WONDERFUL MEMORY was eating in the dining room, in the wet season while the dining room flooded... A character filled place....i have returned again and again.
Bombings in Bali? Gosh I totally missed that part of their story! But glad you liked the video. It’s not on a trendy/popular topic but I thought that true and loyal friends of this hotel will appreciate it!
Oh thank you so much! I didn’t really except anybody who actually has been there to comment. It’s a lovely place. Can’t wait to visit it again. I suppose it’s much livelier now?
I wouldn’t be surprised! To be honest it’s a perfect set for some detective story. Frankly I’d like to write something like that. Imagine how much research you’d need to do to write a book set for examples in 1970? Who even knows what was happening in Bangkok back in those days…
I had lunch there once about fifteen years ago. Possibly the unfriendliest staff I have ever encountered. I came alone and was conservatively dressed. I left a tip even though one was not deserved.
Yeah it did feel a little bit too reserved for me too. I was not sure why was that. My theory was that because I was a new guest, and they felt rather cautious about some young man staying in their hotel. Also I thought maybe that was their thing, that they would keep their distance and let people mind their own business there…
Oh wow damn that looks gorgeous! Never heard of it before! Yeah it does have something in common. Though probably in American I’d expect to see something like this, while I’d never imagine seeing this type of hotel in Thailand. Genuinely I’ve got no idea how they managed to keep it.

I'm here/there now and was doing b&w photos but you covered it so well.

did the.wifi work in the room?
Yeah I think it did!
The rooms looks old but in terms of service everything worked flawlessly
I wonder if anyone has written a novel about this hotel...
I wouldn’t be surprised!

No TV?
Nopes. no TV at all! Well maybe in more expensive rooms, but mine was pretty much basic.

It’s got such a sinister vibe 🫣 And it does look like you time travel there 🤯🤯🤯
Haha yeah a bit, but just a tiny bit. It felt pretty peaceful out there☺️
It reminds me of the vibe of Chateau Marmont
in LA

Great video, Anton!
Thanks Sian!🤩🤩🤩
Мені сподобалась табличка про котів 😂
Вони люблять своїх тваринок там☺️
Мені дуже подобається такий story-telling style😊.
Цікава локація.
Майже містична історія.
Нібито побувала там.
Дякую!!!❤
