This was a great review guys! "Open it!" Thanks for sharing your saved bottle with us, Scott. Arran just keeps putting out better and better stuff. I like the comment below praising you two-- The Beatles of Booz.
Thank you guys, that was the great start of the day, last time I saw blue one in the store it was $150 by us (NJ,NY) definitely going to keep my eyes open that tropical was very intriguing)))). And thank you for opening up white one We all appreciate it.
Sipping my second dram of my first bottle of Arran 10 now. Amazing stuff. Local shop has an old blue label Arran 18 that I may need to grab unless someone beats me to it.
Great review! You have some old stock there! The new style packaged Arran’s have been out for around 2 yrs in the U.K. they have subtly changed the recipes across the range over the years but all Arran’s are good and have been on a consistent basis. An integrity distillery. Also, they haven’t gone silly on their pricing. The 21 yo is a stunner! Was £120 in 2021 when I bought a bottle.
I went and bought the 10 year old yesterday! (new style bottle) I still have 1 bottle of the 14 left that was tropical as well, Arran is great. If I saw that sitting on the self for 110 I would instantly buy. Great review guys.
Tried this at an event, had to order a bottle immediatly after. It's great. Still waiting for a good day to open it :) Oh and it's definitely different from the newer bottles. This design existed for at least 3,4 years.
I wish I had more options to find stuff like Arran. Good value for that 18yr. Stores near me gotta step up their game with scotch options on the shelf.
Golden! Baby! If they started distilling in 1996, 18 years later is 2014 minimum. That white label is a good find, I would be shocked to see one today. I just picked up a blue label for alot and saw it again for $125. Seems like the right price, I'm sure a new sherry 18 would be closer to $200 I'd I ever saw one. Gotta love a sherry/bourbon matured single malt. Ancnoc, Tomatin and even Springbank 18's are similarly matured. Sounds like a head to head challenge
Synthetic corks are often not as tight and can leak in air. Most wineries have quit using them. Randal Grahm of Bonnydoon Winery said using them was the biggest mistake he ever made.
Never got my hands on the old version, but the newest version is delicious. It's super dark coloured, but I wouldn't call it a sherry bomb necessarily. It's more fresh fruits instead of all those dark sherry notes. Probably because they use exclusively American oak I believe. Cheers Bart and Scott 🥃🇨🇦🇺🇲
This is definetly not the same as the new bottling (New bottle style and label) This one (blue label) is two thirds Bourbon and only one third sherry cask, whereas the new version is all sherried. Cracking stuff nevertheless, I'm very happy i picked two bottles in good time 😊
Great bottling. New one is amazing as well! Not the same whisky. New one is 100% sherry matured and the bottling in this review was sherry and bourbon matured.
I guess the next vid Scott gets to dig out one of Bart's long unopened bottles. "For the channel! The people want to know!" Let's see if he caves as easily 😂

I can see Arran from my window. You guys killed it. Funny, informative and DIY skills on point.
Brilliant. As always guys.
thanks Simon! great view!

We're always apprehensive to open those rare bottles but our time here is very brief. "Open It!" Should be on a shirt or coin😉
Open it! on one side & Scotch it! on the other. BAM

Nice background with the bottles
Boom
Amazing review! Great cork technique!
He’s got skills
White Label is limited edition and the blue one is when they added it to the core range.
Thanks Mackal. We don't do the research so you...

We hear ya
Loved my bottle of this. If you see the new one grab that too as it's very different from this. Much darker with all 1st fill casks. Cheers guy's
Will do
you have opened up an older bottle of the Arran 18 yr old. Now you should try a newer one and do a compare on both
We like the way you think Fox

I've had the new Arran 18 and its good. Problem is you can never find it. Scott, is that a new whisky room in your basement? Great review.
He keeps making new sets

Thumbs up for the open

Nice one, guys!👍What are you're thoughts on Loch Lomond 18? Sure I would like to see a review on that one! Cheers!
Coming soon!
Woohoo a comparison episode! Now we need a shootout soon

Good review gentlemen. Any hope of Cask 6 challenge coins in the near future. Suh-lawn-juh dudes.
We do need a new set

I love this one along with the old 14. Too bad both got discountinued. The new 18 is good but very different since its 100% Sherry.
It is very good
This 18 is a mix of Sherry, Ex-Bourbon, and refill casks. The current 18 is 100% Sherry cask. They are very different.
Very
Getting pressured to open up an 18yo bottle while recording, very mean 😂😂 Appreciated still!
I love when Scott shares his whisky
Guys. You need to give us the bottle code dates. These bottles must be years old.
We will work on it

He can open anything I got. Who knows when I will be dead!
Sorry about the Supernova last night Bart! P.S. You brought it up. 😆
Nice job . The Beatles of booze
Bingo
Is that Guy Fawkes next to Scott?
Could be
The new one isn't REMOTELY similar to that one! The new one is way more first fill sherry.
Ok. Good to know
@@ScotchTestDummies also buy both! :) And get the 21 (new)! Scott will love them all!
Bart is a bad influence lol
Peer pressure!
True true
No Corkscrew! Must not have been Boy Scouts or Winos
He just screwed it...
This doesn’t sound like the new 18 year I have.
Nope. Old one
Sadly Arran is not available in Utah. Neither are some of best scotches. Like the 'stache and beard.
The Double Stache & Beard is the BEST
