- In this weeks video I transform an old drawer into a Light box using our 2 can do it decoupage paper, cardboard, a string of lights and some paint. Something everyone can do with an old drawer.

Oh my! This is brilliant! It’s like the dioramas I did with my kids for school but on steroids! Really, it is so good and realistic I can see this on display at the Cleveland Zoo’s Rainforest ! Oh wow, I really do love this piece! Very neat idea and it looks just super on your wall! I was surprised at how quickly it went together too! The corner pieces to hold the plexiglass was a great way of doing it as it allowed for a very clean continuity of the piece!
As always, super fun to watch and I, like Martyn, get totally engrossed watching your magic and how you bring every element and the colors together!

Love it so much! My living room is a very similar color. It is called Painted Pot by Martha Stewart. It was discontinued many years ago. After Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Todd asked what color to paint the room after repairs…Painted Pot again of course. This looked great against your wall…I could look at it all day with jungle sounds in background. Martyn did a great job filming you.

Ive done something similar but with boxes. I've used fairy lights but looking at this project strip lights could be used in some of my projects. I've made clay flowers and painted them etc. I really love what you've done here. Further to my comment about 4 drawers on a lazy susan, lol, I've been thinking about it after i made that comment. In the centre of the drawers would be a big space. In this space you could do a 3d design with strip lights and put a perspex on top so that it can be seen or you could make a large hole in the back of the drawers to see through. Im thinking of a beatrix potter theme so the babies can look through to an enchanted garden with Martyn right behind the kids, maybe in front of them. Lol

Will we see this piece displayed in your living room? Of course, I'm so curious how you have decorated your home... Which of your pieces you've kept and enjoyed for yourself. This was such a fun project and the final result was stunning. Truthfully, I would have liked for you to include the bird transfer in front, but I do understand why you decided it was enough. Since I am a huge Alice in Wonderland fan, I would love to see how you would do a draw with Alice as a theme. I can never get enough of projects with Alice. I've been kinda down-in-the-dumps lately, so watching your create this fun project made me happy. Sunday mornings are always uplifting watching you make magical creations. There was a lip edge on the back of the drawer and marty put a rawl plug and a sturdy screw into the wall and it just hangs on the back lip of the drawer..... Hope this makes sense.

Lel, that's the kind of sheet I need for my ornate headboard, because it is such a 'busy' piece itself I need a more nondescript background (less busy, fuller image) for the framed openings it has, are THESE sheets available for purchase, don't recall seeing them. Prolly ain't gonna make the competition, but I'm good with that. I go as I go... 💖

Just a thought- I think you should have run a colored marker along the edge of the cardboard pieces so they looked less like cut out pieces. Oops, just heard you explain that. Sorry.
