I hope you don’t mind my adding a second comment. But It is so enjoyable listening to a couple who have lived together long enough to be grandparents, work together, and still have as much fun and appreciation of each other as you and Martin have.
Oh, I totally agree. I love you both, and you bring light into my life by your laughter. I'm so glad I stumbled onto Made by Marley. I'm still trying to find the video Marley suggested I watch where Martyn is painting a table. If anyone could help me to find it I would be very grateful. ❤😊
Thank you Lel for your lovely reply. I too have grown in my creative tool kit because of your teaching of techniques and the many options available when working on a project. Creatively, you and Martyn have been mentors, and warm-hearted friends bringing joy and laughter into our home weekly. Every Sunday, you will know where to find us, eyes fixed on the latest MadebyMarley video. ❤️
I’ve seen a couple of tutorials on stamping, but this was the best stamping tutorial I have ever seen. Every little detail is perfect. When I first saw it I thought it was wallpaper.
It's so typical of Lel. Incredibly generous and happy to share her knowledge to such a degree. She is aware and thoughtful enough to know painting furniture, unless you are talented at painting by hand, can get very expensive, especially when you're just starting out. She has several tutorials that teach her students (us!) how to beautifully transform a piece of furniture with one color and one stencil!! I began watching furniture artists during the pandemic. I don't think there was anyone I missed. My taste for years was old New England because that's how I grew up. I didn't even know what BoHo was until I came across someone who painted in that style. I didn't like it all. It looked like an accident. Then one day Lel and Marty popped up on TH-cam. Between the highly original and colorful decoupage paper and Lel's artistic talent I found myself in another world that I fell in love with. Her painting, and use of color, stamps, stencils, moulds is a universe away from an accident. She has an amazing eye. That's where the magic happens.❤
I grew up loving Pennsylvania Dutch because it was all I knew. My mom said we were descended from Amish. Then Folk art painting in the 90s, and then during the pandemic, I too began to watch TH-cam, and I realize there’s a whole new world out there! I really love “ made by Marley“ Lei is so talented!
Thanks Judy, stamping is so much fun and I'm asked all of the time about it so I thought it might help others who are either starting out or want to do things but are unsure. Glad you enjoyed it x
Oh my GOODNESS!!! You never fail to surprise me. Here I am in Peru not feeling too great and you just excited me. Made me get up and check what stamps I have!! I know you may have heard it a million times, but I too must tell you that you don´t hold nothing back. You teach and give ideas and great examples. You truly inspire one to do more and improve one's skills. Can´t thank you enough. The big plus is you and your husband just made my day, made me smile when I wasn´t up to it today. God bless.
I bought my first stamp two weeks ago and have been practising since then and watching vids. But your tutorial just knocks the others out of the park, Lel. So much to learn. So much to do. Happy Easter both of you!❤
Hi Lel and Martyn, Maryka’s husband here….. this has to be the best stamping tutorial, thoughtfully produced and executed that I have ever seen. I especially appreciate how you demonstrated problem solving in real time, how to fix mistakes without having a meltdown or worse, collapsing into a fetal position in bed! I learned a lot and I am sure others will too. Your laughter is infectious although when you both really get going, I feel I need an English translation (lol). Thanks again for your contribution to this growing community. Avram
I often think the mistakes are what creators fear, it can put people of doing magical things. If I try to remove the fear and show that it can be fixed then hopefully more people will gain confidence to go for it. And we know that creating is so good for us.... As always Avram you and Maryka have been very kind. You have been with us a long time now on this crazy journey..... Much love to you both. Lel x
What a detailed, in-depth tutorial. Generous teaching to say the least.I love the colours you chose. They remind me of Monet's dining room in his home in Giverney (think it's Giverney). I've never been, but there are wonderful detailed pictures of his home. The end result of your design and free hand art work is exquisite. I always think I have a plan for pieces of furniture when I go shopping in my apartment, then I see something else you do and you make my mind spin in another direction. I have a small metal IKEA filing cabinet in my bathroom. I was going to slap some paper from Zazzle onto it, but those papers are from my old world. Whatever shall I do with those papers? The Ikea thing is perfect for practce Here are my questions: Are all the stamps from IOD? Those border stamps, which I love, looked different from what I've seen in the IOD collection on offer here in Italy. The backing on the stamps...are they meant to be left on while stamping? You always use your fingers to get the details on the furniture. I would think you wouldn't get the same effect using the backer. IOD also sells some tool that looks as if it would be used for stamping, though I don't know what it's called, or have a clue as to how it's used Again, your work is remarkable. It always is, and each piece is different in its remarkable ness. I don't think that's a real word, but I don't care Poor you Marty having a difficult day 😢 You laughed it off. I need to take a lesson from you on that 😊 Thank you both, and Happy Easter. Tomorrow in Italy is Pasquetta--Little Easter. The italians are brilliant at stretching out holidays. Christmas goes for nearly a month. Love to you both. ❣️🤗😘
Hello lovely lady, I will try to answer your questions if I can. All the stamps I used for the project are IOD, Here are the sets I used. The middle sized peony from the peonies stamp set. The middle sized flower from the lady shallot stamp set. 2 leaves both from the peonies stamp set. The rose and leaf stamp from la campaign stamp set. The border I used most was from the penslyvania folk art stamp set. And the border I put along the back of the cabinets and around the bottom came from the bohemia stamp set. When the back is on its easier to control. It stops large long stamps from being bendy and hard to manage. Taking them off the backing enables you to stamp around corners of furniture and around recessed areas. The back on or off gives you about the same look. IOD sell an acrylic block you can stick your stamps to to help Keep you straight. I have not used one as I don't think it would be useful to me as I often go rogue and don't use a whole stamp and I use my hands to manipulate the stamp so it doesn't all touch the furniture. It gives me more control. However I can see the value of this acrylic block if new to stamping as it will apply even pressure across the whole back of the stamp. I think it's great you are so interested and your ikea piece would be ideal to have a practice on and get the feel of it all. Much love Lel x
Lel & Martin I thank you so much for taking the time, while somehow making the little details Interesting, while teaching us, the things that slipped through the cracks, between the lines, and that only experience can teach you. Thank you that is so helpful. The best part is that we get to spend time with the two of you as we learn to do something that we love, I just don’t take it for granted. OK I just thank you.☺️😚
I’m very appreciative of this video because I have stamps and I’ve been at a loss of how to use them. These are absolutely beautiful! Thank you so much!!!!
Yes look at them separately as well as in a set, you will very quickly see other designs and changing colours often really works.... Thanks so much for watching and for leaving me such a kind comment x
Oh Lel, this was a wonderful tutorial. Learned so much and the outcome is beautiful and lovely! Love the soft colors of spring! Thanks for the laughs and good humor! Have a blessed Easter Lel and Martyn! 🩷🩷✝️🐇🐣🐰🐤🥚🐥
Oh my goodness! You absolutely captured Laura Ashley, if the company could see these they would snatch them right up for their showroom ❤ I have an old vanity that I have been planning to separate into two parts for bedside pieces. This is really wonderful. Thank you so much (Martyn... stop knocking over buckets and bowls 😂)
This is a wonderful video. There is so much useful information on techniques. It was brilliant how you make the same border stamp look different just by adding different colors and simple details. How you repair a small mishap is also such a valuable teachable moment. And if that wasn’t enough, the banter between you and Martyn is so refreshing and entertaining. Thanks so much!!❤
They are absolutely delightful!!!!! So soft and beautiful, perfect for the spring. Lel you looked stunning today, the yellow blouse suits you! Martyn, next time make sure you record yourself after dropping the mic in the water bucket so we can see it. We need additional entertainment! 😂 Love you guys! Hope your easter is lovely and happy. 💗💛💗💛💗
I'm speechless, surprising huh ? 😂😂. I just don't know what to say, your ideas and imagination are incredible. You make paint and a stamp look like lace, I love these victorian vintage looking night stands. You did a spot on look to Laura Ashley linens. Thank you both for everything you do. Martin makes you laugh and I laugh along with you. You two are the best. 😊
Hello tonia Thanks that's such a kind comment and I'm glad you like these. You and I sound very similar as we love wham and Laura Ashley ha ha Although maybe Laura Ashley is slightly more classy 😂😂😂😂😂
Oh Lel what a great tutorial, thank you and when I get some stamps the whole house will be covered 😂😂. You and Marty gave me some many giggles and smiles today, thank you lovely 😁❤️✌️
OH LEl, i CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH for making "THIS" VIDEO!!!!!! 💃🕺🤸♀️🥳🥳🌟💫❤️💗💕🥰 I "know", how to use them, but YOU taught SOOOOO MUCH MORE!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!! Btw, i missed you!!!!
Geez Martin you’re having a time of it today!! I can just hear it all now! I’m obsessed with stamping. It’s just so much fun. I’ve been spending the weekend creating a better space for painting furniture and now I can’t wait to pull out those stamps. Thanks again for sharing the techniques. What a memory you mentioned too. I was a Laura Ashley gal too. And I also loved Holly Hobby Cottage Style too. Gotta love the 80’s!
Brilliant and beautiful. I see the many mistakes I’ve made in the past, now I can try to get it better. You are so very talented and I am so thankful you put so much into your tutorials. Thank you both. ❤❤❤
Ahhh Lisa not mistakes learning curves..... I've made so many that I can share with confidence the right way.... But even then as you see in the video I still make mistakes 😂😂😂 It's all good, thanks so much for watching x
Is there any part of stamping that you find more difficult than others? You make it look so easy and it comes out so great! You don’t seem intimidated by it at all - I feel intimidated when I think about doing it and when I tried, I always mess up even though I started out with real small ones. How do you get the confidence to do what you do? You are amazing and I could watch every part of your process even when you think it will be boring to viewers. It’s not boring at all!!! You guys make it real!!!!
Marla I promise you if you know how to fix things then there is no fear. Remember there is nothing bad that can really happen. If you don't like it paint over it... I think I'm confident because I've just done over and over again.... So don't be hard on yourself just dive in.... Face the fear and the confidence you will gain from doing this will be vast..... X x x
Stamps are my favorites. Definitely economical and so versatile. I stamped a small table and chairs using six paint colors and two IOD stamps. Easy and so much fun. Until I realized the chair needed hand carved dragonfly backrests. Then I needed band-aids. Ouch, but so worth it. All inspired and executed using the inspiration and techniques from Made by Marley TH-cam channel. 😊 😊 😊
Oh but they sound so much worthy of your band aids.... They sound fabulous... Yes stamps are very valuable in furniture makeovers. Thanks so much for watching and for your kind comment x
I can't believe how in sync we are. I am doing the same thing with a dresser right now! Obviously nocwhere nearcas absolutely stunning. Those colours are gorgeous...do I say that alot. I think I should just copy and paste. I have 2 more in the shed plus all their mirrors 🥵
Great creative minds think a like... I'm sure your stamping is stunning your work is beautiful Linda. Well I went muted this week but next week I think I'm going to throw a lit of colour around just to keep everyone on their toes... 😂😂😂 I will not be stamping those at the end I was sick of looking at them ha ha
I am absolutely thrilled to discover your channel and seeing your remarkable and creative pieces of art on furniture. You are a true inspiration and I am chomping at the bit to try out some of your techniques. Your style is full of whimsical creativeness, so refreshing. Thank you for sharing your artistic masterpieces and tutorials!
WOW!!!! WOW!!!! I can’t say think of any words other than that!!! You are an amazing artist! What you do with furniture is phenomenal!!! Love, love you and Martin going back and forth! And yes Martin you were having a rough day, lol! Hope your phone is ok, lol!!! Thank you for an awesome, informative, creative, fun video!!!! ❤❤❤
@@MadebyMarley I'm terrible with technology Lel but to be fair I thought your ones that you recorded yourself were great too. I couldn't have done it, you would just see my double chin throughout 😂😂xx
Oh I was always filming my feet, I don't mind filming myself but it's so much easier with martyn.... But he always captures me in un flattering ways. Having lupus my hair is thin and I'm always saying to marty stop filming my bald head ha ha ha
@@MadebyMarley do you know what Lel I've never even noticed and I've watched almost all of your videos now. I'm that busy watching what your doing and smiling at the crack it has never caught my attention 😁xx
I enjoyed this video so much. Stamping is next for me, I just have to decide which I want. 😂 I also love to hear you two on the videos. Martin was having a Monday wasn't he? 😂❤ Thann you for sharing.
This was absolutely beautiful!!❤❤❤. Could you please do a video on stamps and how to use the mask. They are a little confusing. I have bought quite a bit of the iod stamps. I want to use the rural scene stamps on a lumbar pillow cover. Thank you, Pamela Jordan from the USA 🇺🇸
Hi Pamela next time I do a stamping video I will include the masks, basically it's so you can layer them and have one on top of the other so it looks like it's behind the front one. So stamp a flower then cover with the mask then stamp one over the edge of the first masked one.... The first flower will look like it's at the front. Hope this makes sense. X
This is the video I knew I needed and now I have it😂. Exquisite talent and you make folks feel like they can do it with the right products, time and patience. You and Martyn are brilliant and I enjoy your humor and laughing. Thank you again for the Master Class. Question: do you sign your pieces?
Well I never sign my work usually but as I had done the flower in the drawer I thought it would be fun.... X x I'm so glad you enjoyed this video.... It was lots of fun and marty survived all his mishaps x x
Lel there was a song from the 70s by a group ABBA called Dancing Queen. I loved that song! Well I’m crowning you the Stamping Queen😄! These are lovely! ❤❤❤ Tell Martyn to keep moving so he doesn’t get stamped😄
You also can mount them on a laminate sheed, just run them thru the laminator without paper and tada a mount sheed . I use archival and tsukineko permanet ink also , you just need to make a sample with the sealer you are using ,soetimes (archival ) the colors get lighter . Whe I have a curved surface I use masking tape on the backside so I a have handle and can stuck them on the surface that they dont move when I press down .
Hi again! On this piece (love it!) in the second panel - the flower. Is it a dog rose or cherry blossom? Please put me out of my misery, I can’t find it in the IOD stamps. Which set is it from, it’s exactly what I’m looking for - maybe I’ve overlooked it, but I just can’t find what set it’s from. Thanks again for the fabulous videos. Vicki x
The large floral was from the peonies stamp. The one flower border was from Lady challot, the small edge border was from the bohemian stamp. And the border I used paint was from the penslyvania folk art stamp....... I think I've covered them all Maryka.... X x x
I hope you don’t mind my adding a second comment. But It is so enjoyable listening to a couple who have lived together long enough to be grandparents, work together, and still have as much fun and appreciation of each other as you and Martin have.

Awww he's a good guy.... I'm so glad he's technical ha ha I'm not sure what you would get if it was me x x

Oh Genie.... He really was ha ha
His mic fell in the water x x
@@MadebyMarley 🤣🤣
X
Happy Easter you Two!! 🐰✝️ Lovely Springy pieces your makin here! ❤

Question: do you sign your pieces?
Sorry I didn’t wait til the end. Your answer is “yes”!!!!
Well I never sign my work usually but as I had done the flower in the drawer I thought it would be fun.... X x
I'm so glad you enjoyed this video.... It was lots of fun and marty survived all his mishaps x x
Very nice, I like your mix of colors. Happy Easter
And happy Easter to you x x
Just finished my first MBM inspired piece!
How did it go Cat?
@@MadebyMarley it was fun! I tried to upload a photo for you but couldnt figure out how!
Lel there was a song from the 70s by a group ABBA called Dancing Queen. I loved that song! Well I’m crowning you the Stamping Queen😄! These are lovely! ❤❤❤ Tell Martyn to keep moving so he doesn’t get stamped😄
Now I'm humming the tune, marty is prime for stamping.... X
@@MadebyMarley 😂😂😂
You also can mount them on a laminate sheed, just run them thru the laminator without paper and tada a mount sheed . I use archival and tsukineko permanet ink also , you just need to make a sample with the sealer you are using ,soetimes (archival ) the colors get lighter . Whe I have a curved surface I use masking tape on the backside so I a have handle and can stuck them on the surface that they dont move when I press down .
Yes all of this..... Thank you so much for your kind comment x
Can't wait to watch 😁❤️
Hope you like it ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful work ❤️❤️
Thanks so very much x

I love them!

Vicki x
Ha ha I think it's a dog rose and it's from Lady challot....... X x
Hi Lel, me again, did you use "lady of shalott" stamp? Thank you. Forwarded the video to Avram. 😊
Blessings
The large floral was from the peonies stamp.
The one flower border was from Lady challot, the small edge border was from the bohemian stamp. And the border I used paint was from the penslyvania folk art stamp....... I think I've covered them all Maryka.... X x x
What is the roller called you used to roll paint on stamp? Thank you fabulous video❤
In the UK they are jyst called rubber ink rollers...
I the US I think they are called brayers but fact check that 😂😂❤️
Hello, I love your videos, the problem I have is where to find these beautiful stamps. Help please
