Yet another gorgeous piece 💙❤️ I love watching your videos and listening to you and Martin chatting away whilst you work. It makes your videos even more entertaining and enjoyable. You make the perfect couple and you compliment each other so beautifully. Look forward to your next project and video 💜
I just have to tell you grateful I am that you and Martin have brought me so much peace, inspiration and entertainment (you’re very funny) in this, the most difficult year of my life with very ill husband. I fly all the time and spend my time daydreaming in the air of your projects and mentally create my own. Someday when the insanity is over. God bless you and your beautiful family. You are a gift! 💕
I'm so sorry to hear your story.... I can never fathom how hard often life is with the ones we love I lost my dad 2 years ago and painting was my salvation... But while I was away from home nursing him I dreamed of painting and projects.... I hope your okay and I wish you some peace in your life. And both marty and I are so glad you watch us. Lots of love Lel x x
Layering is an interesting concept and not that easy to understand. Your explanation is perfect. Love the colors. 😊 After a zillion years of working with Photoshop, for work and fun, layering is second nature to me and a lot less messy. 😅
Sorry I'm replying so late I let my comments get out of hand. Yes layering is the key to giving things life and dimension and I'm glad you thought I explained it okay.... Its kinda hard x
He's only just found out.... He's wondering if anyone would like his feet he told me the other day..... The kids told him knowledge isn't always a good thing 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lel another fab video you do make things look achievable and they will be and are if you follow the lessons trust the process and paractice your a very lucky or talanted artist if you get it right on your first go .so please everyone give it a go start small do a box ect or even practice on a bit of cardboard. big amazing love Lel marc
Marc your so right start on anything just to play around it's so good to just have fun and enjoy it.... And often an idea comes from this.... As always can I thank you for your kind comment Marc. It's appreciated and sorry I'm so late replying I let the comments get away from me x x x
Jimmeny Crickets!!! That was such a fun video. Really education but a real fun one!!! You two crack me up. I think what i love so much about chalk paint on furniture with the layers is that it is using your hands and texture so much. Thanks again for a great time watching.
Sorry I'm only just replying I let the comments get way out of hand. Laying is great it stops things looking flat and one dimensional. Hope your well love Lel x
Again! this is what I needed to see. Enjoyed it. Enjoyed it so much!! Your amazing! You and Martyn are such a great team. Thanks Again for Sharing ❤❤❤🦋
I was actually struggling with layering on a large bookcase and thought I need to check Made by Marley. There you were inspiring all the way to the middle of Texas. Thanks to you things are moving along. ❤ You are a lovely couple.
OH MY! Eye candy for the artistic mind, brilliant tutorial. I have to go watch this one again, maybe a few times! How can you incorporate your paper into this layering design?
Very informative, with charming results. I’ve always been an artist, but furniture is a new thing for me. I watch a lot of videos, but I feel I learn the most from you. Thanks, you are doing good work keep it up❣️
Dana that's kind... I try to break it down so there's no mystery in furniture art. And I hope it encourages others to have a go. I'm grateful for your lovely comment and so glad you take the time to watch and comment x
Thank you for sharing your techniques Its wonderful that you make these available to us who are just working in our little creative spaces So grateful for all that you and Martyn put into making these Sunday lessons Love that you paint with blouses that have flared sleeves = Fearless lol
🙋🏾♀️ Lel and Marty! Lel I have a confession that I was one of those people who thought that way about layering😢 Like why layer when you will just be covering up what you put down🤷♀️. But many layered pieces later I understand that layering adds an authentic aged look that you can’t get with a one coat painted piece. Now I rarely do a piece that doesn’t have at least 2 paint colors! Who knew I would prove my own self wrong 😂. This piece is a beauty ❤❤❤
This is gorgeous! I love everything about it! I would never think to mix all those different stamps ….and the few times I’ve tried to layer….well it just looks contrived. You are an amazing artist and teacher. And Martyn is amazing on the camera and you guys make me laugh. Thanks. No need to reply, I just want to help your numbers with a reply!
How kind Lisa and I'm glad you like the table. The stamping part I understand what you are saying, my stamping used to very much look like it was all in a line and I started to move them around and use parts of them to fill in gaps and slowly my stamping got a little better.... I'm sure your stamping is perfect but I wanted you to know Lisa we always appreciate your kind comments x
I've figured you out Lel; you fancy yourself one of those fancy French painters with the frilly shirts & puffy sleeves, (but you are missing the little beret...) AND they painted flat canvases not dimensional objects, bet their wardrobe woulda been different if they had 🤔😜 Fun piece this, love the festive color combo's. 🥰
So so beautiful! 🙏 Just tried to do it, gonne all wrong 😞 I do not have any chalk paint, so I've done it with acrylic paint, dunno if it was the paint or it's just me that I'm useless. Thanks for the class, Lel❤ ❤❤
Probably I don't ever really use shiny I much prefer mat paint. However I wanted something heavy duty... I would just use a matt and then you don't need to do anything x

Yrs I truly love him.... Even when he stands in my paint x
“lets take it back 100 years and bring it up 60”. Martin is precious and a Keeper. lol!

Glad you enjoyed it! Yes I do feel a true connection with my hands when I paint and I think your fingers are a brilliant and under rated tool....♥️
Love the layering, the blue blended areas remind me of the beautiful sea ❤❤

Love the layers. I was glad to see so much yellow revealed.
