@Tom_5ki7 it was back in April this year (2019) here's a link to one of the articles that announced the news: railnews.mobi/news/2019/08/14-first-trenitalia-win-west-coast.html The name of the service (emblazoned on the trains) has still to be finalised however, as far as I know
@Tom_5ki7 Basically, Virgin's partner, Stagecoach, has been banned from running for any new franchises due to problems with pensions. They've lost their East Midlands franchise as well, which has gone to Abellio.
the ex virgin trains are now operated by avanti west coast. the west coast main line trains were serviced with clsss 90's before the class 390's. The class 90's were handed down to what is now know as Greater Anglia which operates between norwich and london liverpool street. however Greate anglia now have class 745's and 755's. These trains are amazing.
I enjoyed watching this video. Thank you for uploading this
The 158 looks more like a virgin train than the 390 does now
great video at Birmingham International enjoyed many thanks
Such a pity that Virgin Trains will cease operation in early December

one day I hope to travel on the 745 / 755 trains. Just need the lockdown to end!
Good timing at the end!
Nice trainspotting its very inspirational
Pendolinos and Voyagers have made West Coast rail travel so dull over the last 20 years but you can't knock their reliability
Nice contrasts
excellent job mate
Thank You!
For what it's worth I think the unidentified 158 at 7:15 is 158780.
matthew O it’s 790
