    Just sat back and enjoyed all ten videos. My son and I are doing the same thing with a 96 Cherokee. Project Okee. 3.5 rubicon express, track bar, same busted bolts on the rear shocks,end links, lower control arms, steering stabilizer which was causing our shimmy at 53 mph, our fair share of leaks including the high pressure line for the power steering, both automatic transmission cooler lines and the oil filter adapter. We went BFG 31" AT's on steel wheels just because steel will bend before it cracks unlike aluminum wheels. We had to do a headliner job, tune up, oil change and a neutral safety switch. thanks for the suggesting the bushing on the sway bar. Think I'll go get my son some. He's learning a lot form this project. I am enjoying teaching him everything I've learned back in my jeepin days with a 90 Wrangler. I did donate my high lift jack to his project and he has since been rear ended so the plan for a rear bumber upgrade just got bumped up. He is working hard and paying for most of this himself. Dad helps out some. Keep it up. Front and rear bumpers, winch, headlights and exhaust are in the future. His exhaust came with pin holes plugged with metal screws. Thanks for the videos. Ill subscribe. Seems our plans and repairs are mirroring each other. Happy Jeeping.

    There is a lot to like about your videos, but watching you work with your kids is the best part. My best memories from growing up were made in the garage working with my dad (bicycles, race cars, motorcycles, etc.).

    Enjoy watching your TH-cam. Just picked up a 1995 Jeep Cherokee xj and just took everything out of inside and going make me an overlander out of it and taking back seats out and try build pull out draws with solar panels. I waited until I was 63 to start but just started watching for a while now and it just looks like fun and looking forward to just get away. Even if I have to just go to a campground. Heck even if I have to set in driveway will be good to me. I'm in Ohio so it would be a long trip just to get out your way so starting out around here first. Keep up the good work and thanks for your service.

    I appreciate the vid. I've been putting this off for years and it only took 30 minutes to pull it out. Removing the foam only took a couple minutes using a Makita wheel brush.

    Great project for you and your sons. My son and I did his 2000 Nissan Xterra 4x4- some Maaco paint, new JDM motor, Bilstein shocks, Kenwood stereo and backup camera. He's been hitting the trails out here next to Lake Mead. Your boys appreciate this for sure.

    That's awesome! I'm trying to buy either a Jeep Cherokee XJ or a Toyota 4Runner to build with my brothers and my dad!! I have been super inspired by your videos, especially the Baja Trip!!! We live in Baja and with work, school, life itself... we recently decided "You know what? We live in this beautiful place, we need to actually get out there and live Baja!" So hopefully that is sooner than later!

    Very nice. I've been preping my '99 XJ for a lift. I've recently replaced the radiator and front discs and calipers. I've replaced a few seals (to include the rear main which was not fun!) and will have my rear disc conversion delivered this week. I'd have a lift already but shipping to Southeast AK would cost my first born! Keep it up, can't wait to see the finished product!

    • @TrailRecon
      @TrailRecon  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      A rear disc conversion is a great upgrade we may do down the road. We'll see when the desert heat kicks in if our radiator will keep us cool. Thanks!

    Nice work!! I love the project so far and I'm excited to hear that magna flow exhaust🖒🖒 I had a 96 xj in the early 2000's and loved it. It had a rubicon express lift, 32x10.50's. and a cat back. I think it was a magna flow, but can't remember. But I do remember having tons of fun.

    I need a proper exhaust so darn bad! I currently have a banks torque tube running into a 2.5' pipe that dumbs right before my rear axle, it sounds great but the drone is crazy! I was thinking about a side exit right before the fender flare since i own a two door dont have to worry about people burning their legs getting out.

    • @TrailRecon
      @TrailRecon  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A side exit is a good option. I think we will have to do some modification because of the drop down shackle getting in the way... we'll see how it goes.

    Great job!!! I just picked up a 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with the 5.2L 318....I'm gradually repairing, replacing, and upgrading. The headliner is on my list to do. I just received a letter in the mail that my Jeep is part of a recall. Something about the fuel tank, rear bumper, and tow hitch. On my list was replace/repair ALOT of rust on rear bumper brackets, support, etc as well as put a stronger weld on the hitch......according to what I read the dealership has to replace bumper, brackets, fuel tank, hitch, bumper cover??? You know anything about the recall? Would be so awesome to have all that done free of charge! :-) I'm gonna watch more of your videos...I need a keyless entry module. One of previous owners removed it for some reason. I think it's called several different things (located behind dome light assembly). Thanks again for videos and I will keep watching!!!

    Does your headliner have foam or is just the fabric? Great video thank you for slowing us your technique.

    My daughter and I have been working on her XJ (she just turned 16) for the last few months. I wanted to personalize her headliner with what she names her Jeep, but the factory head liner won't take the head needed to iron on fabric vinyl.
    Do you know the stuff you used can take the heat? Do you have any scraps left to test on?

    How many yards of the headliner did you end up using? It looks like they sell in 3 yard increments. Did you order 6 yards total or just 3 yards? Thanks in advance!!
