The one is used is a generic puller you can get at any auto parts store. I now use the Eastwood EW14540 that we sell, its a few bucks more but much higher quality.
This is exactly what I am looking for from CJ pony parts. I'm looking for a fit for a 67 mustang. Black steering wheel is perfect. Can you help me find the parts I need?
I installed this wheel and horn ring with a new center spring. When I put the horn ring on, it sits uneven on the wheel. Any ideas? Spring uneven? I'm at a loss, it seems installed correctly.
Jack Johnson I am finding the exact same problem with the new Drake wheel. The new wheels tab, which is at the top side of the wheel, is not the same as the factory part. Neither is the plastic ring with 3 holes. I found the tab too tall, which results in the bottom horn section depressing. I also found the tabs bent end, twice the size as the original, which moves the tab closer to contact with metal around it. Both issues result in the new horn going off. Both issues are evident in the video. Solution? Washers under the attachment of the tab and ring to the wheel to shorten the tab. Also, Dremel the end of the tab to match the factory part. Not what I expected. The tab and ring parts threads and sheet metal screws quality is not great either.
Jack Johnson I am looking into M4 or M5 DIN washers as shims between the wheel and the outer electrical contact ring on the 2 attachment sheet metal screws to lower the tab height before cutting it. Interestingly this 65 does not have an outer spring, but it is also not the 64 1/2 design. I may need a spring, but that doesn't change the dimmensional issues. There is another 65 locally I can look at as well. I will keep you posted if I find a solution.
I buy for cj's all the time but it's pretty frustrating that they seem to only make videos for the 65 up 69 mustangs not for 1970 like I have bull crap
We offer the Eastwood puller which is much nicer than the old style one that I was using. www.cjponyparts.com/eastwood-steering-wheel-puller-set/p/EW14540/
Nice, the last guy sheared off a bolt in one of the two bolt holes used ONLY for extraction, aiyaiyai!!!

Look for HW492 on the CJ Pony Parts website, or HW494, which includes the hardware.

Do you sell the steering wheel puller featured in this video?
CJ, my horn start when I turn the steering wheel to any side or when I take a little press on the steer wheel. How can I check the problem?
2:41 Corona!
Nice video !!!!
Any chance there is an adapter to make that wheel fit a 74 Ford F-100?

What is the wheel made out of?
am i the only one who uses blue thread locker on the nut? only had to have a wheel come loose on me once to feel that fear.
These are really nice. Would be better if they were quick release
Pretty easy
We to not offer anything for that application
They don't tell you what size bolts nor do they sell that puller
We offer the Eastwood puller which is much nicer than the old style one that I was using.

Nut, not Bolt.
Rafael Block Thank you I couldn’t assemble my steering wheel before. Now I can and with Confidence. LOL
I think the more intelligent among us knew what he meant.....
Its NOT authentic looking. It is only an "original STYLE" steering wheel. Anyone who knows will laugh at the fake steering wheel you just installed.
you cant afford either one. so, stfu
