Cliff - excellent review. Thanks. Other reviewers say their legs and knees have to splay apart too much due to the low sides of the boat. They say this is less comfortable than, for example, the Explorers. What do you say about this please?
I was going to wait for some real hands on review videos before buying, but I went ahead and ordered anyway. I received two of them yesterday and my wife and I are going to try them out tomorrow. Glad to hear you say good things about the kayak.
Well, you are lucky! Because, they flew off the shelves. First stocking order was 100 and they only lasted two weeks. Let me know how you like them, I think you will be impressed. :-)
Used ours today for a couple hours, no problems both of us were happy with them. I did feel kinda goofy having to inflate our kayaks while others at the lake were just pulling them off their vehicles straight into the water. I used an electric pump and a lot of staring going on. Packing up was quick.
Congratulations Jeffrey, you are going to love this boat! It is a great go-between as you mentioned. It's also a great stand alone if that's the only kayak you want to buy. You likely did get the last one in stock, their initial order was 100. And they blew out the doors. They have another hundred coming in at the beginning of July. @ralphkeith2905 the razor light has always been my favorite and now it is one of my favorites. The EZLite - is now a favorite as well. As somebody who has multiple kayaks, I use the easy light as a grab and go boat when I don't need to carry anything more than a small cooler, great for weeknight paddles or for a workout. I love how light it is! I love how much easier it is to roll up than the razor light. Once a 12 foot version comes out, that might be the best of both worlds. Hi Cliff, How would you say this tracks compared to the Razorlite 393? I bought a Aquaglide Cirrus 110 and did not like the way it tracked and handled. I am used to a hardshell, but would like less weight . Thank you!
Hi Sarah, if you paddle with the included skeg that comes with the EZLite, it tracks straight as an arrow. I like a boat that is a little bit more playful and allows for greater maneuverability while paddling. For that reason, I purchased the small skeg from sea Eagle and really like how it performs. With both skegs, I am able to achieve any type of paddling that I wanna do, including super shallow water paddling. @@KayakCliff Thank you so much for your quick reply! I actually have bought the Razorlite, just haven't taken it out yet! I kind of want both! PS I appreciate all of your videos. Keep up the fun!
Oh crud, sorry about that. For the razor light, now that is a different story. I prefer to not paddle with a skeg on the razor light usually. If I do put a skeg on, I only put the small skeg on. Without the skeg - the razor light tracks pretty well while you are paddling, but when you stop paddling, it will start to veer right or left. The small skeg helps to keep it centered or the standard one that comes with the boat. I just like a boat that's a little bit more playful, that's just me, so that's why I usually go without. Let me know how it works for you!

Great review! Please tell me about the pump you are using, I just purchased the 380X Explorer with the electric pump, but it needs to be close to my vehicle for the power adapter. Thanks in advance.
Thank you for watching Jeffrey and great question! Right now Sea Eagle only has the corded one stage inflation pump. This month, in June, they will be introducing their new battery operated super Duper two stage pump. This will be the replacement for the battery operated pump that you see me using in my videos. Keep an eye out on their website, you should see it probably in the next week or so.
I have not been able to go down any yet. I should in about a week and a half when I am up in North Carolina in the Blue Ridge Mountains using it. I will have a better idea then. I think it will perform wonderfully, I have been out in that level of wind and waves in a lake and itperformed beautifully.
Hi Bob, when I'm kayaking and needing to anchor, I just have the anchor line tied to a carabiner that I just clip to the front or rear grab handle. Being seated in the middle of the kayak, it is actually easy to retrieve the anchor, if you just do a couple paddle strokes forward or backward, then grab the rope as it comes alongside the kayak and pull up the anchor. Very easy and very low tech, I love it!

Two questions. Looked thru the links for your equipment, but haven't found one for your battery powered air pump. Did I miss it? Do you think that Sea Eagle might come out with a longer version of this kayak? I have a 13'8" & a 10' hard-shell & the former is much faster & straighter than the latter. I'm assuming that might hold true for this model as well? While watching your vid, I was wishing you into both up & downstream runs for your speed test & you did it!
Hi 👋 there! Here is the link for the air pumps. Air Inflation Pumps: bit.ly/3MjKN9z As successful as the 10 footer is, I would not be surprised if they come out with a 12 footer at some point in the future.
Cliff, finally got mine. Are you just supposed to force the locking end of the foot brace bars down into the clip.?? I'm afraid to push it too hard in fear of breaking that clip. The receiving end there doesn't seem to have too much give. Help ?? Suggests ??
Hi Bob, Yes, you slide the foot brace rods through both holes on the black receiver mounted to the boat hull. Then take the end of the rod with the black 90 degree plastic finger, then rotate it downwards to lock it into place in the receiver. Should rotate down pretty easily if you have the rod fully inserted. Let me know if you figured it out!
@@KayakCliff thanks ! I think i got it. I may modify the lead edge of the receiver slightly at maybe a 45 degree angle. currently it strikes that corner a little too abruptly. So much so i thought it was going to perhaps cause it to snap. Thanks for your help !!
@bobrich1950 Just keep in mind that with use and getting wet, it will slip in easier…… Don’t want to alter too much, then have it be too loose once wet and broken in
I tested mine today and would rate it 5/5 for performance, including speed, tracking, comfort, and stability. This kayak easily reaches 4-5 mph with great stability and tracking. I spent half a day fishing in windy conditions and still felt relaxed. However, I do have some suggestions. First, I tested the kayak on a windy day with 12mph wind speed and 25mph gusts. The wave brought a lot of water inside the kayak due to the low height of the side chamber. I would say bring a towel or hand pump if you plan to paddle in 10mph+ wind or 20mph+ gusts, or you'll end up with a wet butt. Second, I order the basic package with Deluxe Seat. I was wondering why the manual told me to be careful and stay balanced with the inflated Deluxe Seat until the first second I was on the water. A fully inflated Deluxe Seat is sooo unstable with this kayak. I immediately deflated the bottom chamber, and it became much better. I would say the Deluxe seat is not designed for this kayak. Last, the EVA foam on the kayak floor isn't very durable and gets dirty easily. Even though I wore Crocs with soft bottoms, a few pieces of the parallelogram EVA foam peeled off. This might not be a problem for me since I will not return this kayak. However, if anyone wants to use their 120-day return policy to return this kayak, this could be a big problem since Sea Eagle requires the returned product to be clean and undamaged.
Thank you so much for your feedback! I have not had any problem with the EVA foam becoming damaged, and I have had it out three times so far. I have had the issue with it getting dirty with each use. I remedy that by cleaning it down with some soapy water when I wash the boat down at the end of the day. This tends to remove, all of the stains, however, there's always a little bit that will be there invisible. EVA foam is a very popular product used on the floors of most every inflatable paddleboard, you do wanna make sure that you have nothing on the bottom of your shoes that could skuff it. I have found it to be inherently, pretty durable, however, I do see where you could leave some marks if there is anything sharp or jagged dragged across it. EZLite 10 Sea Eagle - alnk.to/60ZT3Sz
There is a sponge-like material on the chamber floor to protect it from scratches. Will it absorb water if it gets wet? If so, how long will it take to fully dry before I can pack it up? I dislike inflatable kayaks covered with fabric because water always penetrates through the fabric, and it takes at least two days to dry before I can store it. I do not have a backyard at home, so it will occupy my dining room space for a long time every time I use it.
Hi there, great question! The EVA foam on the inside of the kayak, does not absorb water. When you are finished with the kayak, if you completely towel dry it off, then unroll it at home, it will dry overnight with your air conditioning running. I always inflate mine at home and it even drives faster. Definitely does not take two days to dry. EZLite 10 Sea Eagle - alnk.to/60ZT3Sz
Hi 👋 there, the pump that I'm using in the video has been discontinued and they just replaced it with this pump. I'm actually getting one of these soon. This one actually has more battery power and pumps it up even faster, with the ability to pump up bigger boats or multiple kayaks. Air Inflation Pumps: alnk.to/9btN2h3
Thanks for a great review of Sea Eagle's latest kayak! With regard to performance and speed, would you say that the EZLite falls somewhere between the FastTrack and Razorlite?
I would say that's an accurate analysis! I do plan sometime this summer to do a comparison speed test between both of them. Then we will know! Bottom line it is a fast kayak.
Hi! My wife and i are considering getting these as we have bad backs and struggle cartopping/managing our hard-shells and dont get out for regular short paddles since its too much effort. These seem to support our weight (we're about 250lbs at 5'6" and they say 275 paddler, 325 total in the info). Do you think they'd be a decent fit? We could do maybe a fast track tandem otherwise, but these seem like easier to manage fun little boats for short fun paddles.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting and great question! I personally prefer to paddle in my own kayak, rather than paddling tandem. It is always a much better experience for me and most others that I talk to. The EZLite would accommodate both you or your wife perfectly! I would just make sure that you pull the seat back to the farthest rearward position, while still being able to put your feet on the foot pegs. I have conversed with several people like yourselves that have found the EZLite10 to work beautifully. As always, I encourage my viewers to give me some feedback after they have tried the boats. That helps me give better information to other people who have questions. Safe adventuring to you and your wife out there this summer! Hey Cliff. Bill S in PA with 393rl. I am interested in EZ lite as friend kayak. All my friends are aged and arthritic. You rarely show getting in and out of the sea eagles. I know getting out of my Razorlite 393rl is very difficult for me. Thinking the same for EZ lite and would be interested in you showing how to get in and out. A lot of seniors may have the same request. Thanks, and paddle on my friend.
Hey Bill, great to hear from you and great question! In the attached video, I go over this and illustrate it with my dad who is 84 years old in the tandem razor light. Simply wade out to knee-deep water, then simply sit down into the boat like you were sitting into a chair. When the water is up to your knees, all you have to do is bend and sit at a 90° angle, this makes it very achievable. Check out the video to see how we did it. Suwannee River Paddling Three Days With My Dad th-cam.com/video/m3eifjl1NZ8/w-d-xo.html
beyond Cliff's recommendation, i recommend you also use the paddle to get in and out of the boat. easy method: in knee-deep water, use the paddle as a cane to stand or sit. slightly more advanced, but more helpful method: put the paddle across the kayak diagonally and then use it for leverage as you sit and stand, like a grab bar that can take weight. you can then push off the paddle to stand up, or lower yourself as you sit. i say diagonally as you can make a wedge with it and the boat, with your body in the middle, where you can hold onto the paddle with one arm and the boat with the other as you stand or sit.
The lightening/thunder added an element (pun!) of surprise I didn't know I wanted in a Kayak video... but now, I think a lightening sound effect should be in all of your videos. Maybe at the end just before reveal if you ever decide to issue a score.

A lot of people prefer the inflatable seat, try it out first. I like the other high back seat. Sea Eagle has wonderful customer service, call them and perhaps there is something they can do to help you.
Hey Cliff 2 questions please: Can you advise how stable the ELite vs the 393rl? I do rivers, streams and creeks that have large boulders in it. When the 393rl goes over and makes contact with a rock it turns into a teeter totter and is very susceptible to flipping because of the ridged floor. Wondering with the "V" hull on the EZLite if this would be better or worse? I see there are no drain holes? Does the water get trapped in the folds when you flip it drain and you have to sop it up with towel? Thank you.
Hi 👋 there! The EZLite is much more stable than the RazorLite. With the V floor, if you get high center on a boulder I would imagine your stability will be greater than when you do that on the RazorLite, especially if you can position that boulder on the flat side of the V. The nice thing about the RazorLite is you can paddle extremely effectively with no skeg, that is my favorite way to paddle the RazorLite, which makes it an awesome boat for shallow rivers. If you are in the EZLite, I highly recommend purchasing the small skeg that Sea Eagle offers, that is the only skeg I use on the EZLite10 and it works very well! Huh? In the video I stated that the kayak is 26 pounds, then with seat installed it's about 28 1/2 pounds. Not sure where you're getting 35 pounds plus......
Cliff, please tell us how tall you are and how much you weigh so we can compare your experience to our size. What do you recommend for the maximum rider height and weight? I am 6’4” 245 and I am looking for a fast portable kayak. Please let me know if this one would work for me. Thanks.
Hi JR - you should be good to go! You definitely fit within the maximum rider weight and I have freakishly long legs with a 34 1/4 inseam. I think 35 inseam would probably be the maximum. If you are under 34 inseam, you have plenty of room. Even at a 34 you will be fine. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions! Here is my affiliate link below. Oh, my height is 6 foot. EZLite 10 Sea Eagle - alnk.to/60ZT3Sz
(6.1 mph + 1.8 mph) divided by 2 = 3.95 MPH Say you have a boat that can go 5 mph. with a 1 mph current, you would go 6 mph downstream and 4 upstream. 6+4)/2 = 5
Yes, but if you add the two speeds together, then divide by two, you are just getting the average speed not the difference of the speed going up stream versus the speed going downstream....
I ordered this last week and am still waiting for delivery. It's the newest inflatable kayak and looks amazing, so I want to give it a try. It is a light kayak, but I wouldn't call it 'Ultralight.' There are many other drop-stitch kayaks in this weight range, such as the NRS Kuda and Kokopelli Platte, but they don't label themselves as 'Ultralight.' The only 'Ultralight' kayak in my mind is the Aquaglide Cirrus, which weighs 14-18 lbs and is truly lightweight. However, based on reviews, the Cirrus seems to be made from very thin material. Since I go fishing sometimes, I'm worried that a simple contact with a hook could damage the inflatable chamber. My main concern about the Ezlite is the storage space look small. I'll give it a try next week when it arrives.
Thank you for watching and commenting! I truly think you will like this new boat! I am aware of those other boats that you mentioned, but with regards to this boat, I consider my title to be correct as this is a high-performing, affordable, and light wight kayak. I don't think those other boats have those three attributes. Compared to plastic boats that the majority of the population has, I definitely consider this to be ultralight ,while still within the affordable realm.
@@KayakCliff Definitely. Both Kuda and Cirrus show relatively poor tracking. I also searched a lot about glued seam vs heat welded seam. Indeed some ppl mentioned their sea eagle seam failed after a couple of years of storage. So I added another 3-year extended warranty. Hopefully, this product will cover me until I am tired of kayaking.
@shortiaw6850 well, don't ever get tired of kayaking! I believe most seem issues occur from improper storage. I refrain from storage in un climatized spaces. I store mine indoors where the temperature is a constant 75° to 80°F.
I've had my FastTrack almost 10 yrs. Last few not used. I regret to inform you its leaking at the seams. I really wanted to take it on the river this year. Loved the kayak but I just got a Crescent Primo. Inflatables are awesome but won't last forever. Great video.
Sorry to hear that about your seams. I tend to hear from a lot of people that 10 years and the seams start to go out. Just wondering, how did you store yours? Was it subject to the hot and cold elements out in a garage or was it in a condition space?

I did feel kinda goofy having to inflate our kayaks while others at the lake were just pulling them off their vehicles straight into the water. I used an electric pump and a lot of staring going on. Packing up was quick.
@jason00794 yes, but I can promise you that a majority of the people lugging those big boats off their roof racks are looking at you with jealousy.
I bought this yesterday. Looks to be a good in between for the fasttrack and RZ. It seems I may have gotten the last one in stock.
Enjoy that new kayak and let me know how you like it!

@JeffreyAlvarez1 I previously owned the FastTrack and a RZ. When I saw the video, I thought the same thing. You've had yours a couple of months now, how do you like it? Do you wish it was 12'? Thanks

I will put the link below 👇

Wished there was a trade in program for our almost new Fasttrack boats. The EZLite boat seems to fit our needs almost perfectly.
I hear ya! I usually sell things that I'm not using on craigslist or Facebook marketplace, then get what new model I want. That EZLite is a great alternative to the fast track. If it's in great condition, consider posting it and selling it.

@@KayakCliff Awesome - thank you so much for the information and clarification.
How did it end up doing in the C1 rapids?
I have not been able to go down any yet. I should in about a week and a half when I am up in North Carolina in the Blue Ridge Mountains using it. I will have a better idea then. I think it will perform wonderfully, I have been out in that level of wind and waves in a lake and itperformed beautifully.
Cliff, do you have any ideas for anchor mounts ? Possibly in conjunction with a Scotty anchor mount ?? Thanks
Cliff, If you could only own one inflatable the 393RL or the EZlite, what would it be? Storage space is a big a factor as speed.
Hi, definitely the 393 RL razor light! It has the speed and it has plenty of storage. I have done several camping trips out of it with no problem! Not a lot of storage in the EZLite.
Below I'm going to paste a bunch of adventure videos in the razor light. Also, my affiliate Web link to the product in case you choose to purchase. It's a great boat. I use it more than anything. With this new easy light, though, I see myself using that a lot as well, just not a lot of storage.

As successful as the 10 footer is, I would not be surprised if they come out with a 12 footer at some point in the future.
Then take the end of the rod with
the black 90 degree plastic finger, then rotate it downwards to lock it into place in the receiver. Should rotate down pretty easily if you have the
rod fully inserted.
@bobrich1950 Just keep in mind that with use and getting wet, it will slip in easier…… Don’t want to alter too much, then have it be too loose once
wet and broken in
@@KayakCliff Good point. Hadn't thought of that. Thanks.
@@KayakCliff Good point. I hadn't thought of that. Thanks !

Check out the video to see how we did it.

th-cam.com/video/m3eifjl1NZ8/w-d-xo.html
beyond Cliff's recommendation, i recommend you also use the paddle to get in and out of the boat.
easy method: in knee-deep water, use the paddle as a cane to stand or sit.
slightly more advanced, but more helpful method: put the paddle across the kayak diagonally and then use it for leverage as you sit and stand, like a grab bar that can take weight. you can then push off the paddle to stand up, or lower yourself as you sit. i say diagonally as you can make a wedge with it and the boat, with your body in the middle, where you can hold onto the paddle with one arm and the boat with the other as you stand or sit.
Thank you so much for sharing that additional information! Very useful!
The lightening/thunder added an element (pun!) of surprise I didn't know I wanted in a Kayak video... but now, I think a lightening sound effect should be in all of your videos. Maybe at the end just before reveal if you ever decide to issue a score.

Hey Cliff 2 questions please:
Can you advise how stable the ELite vs the 393rl? I do rivers, streams and creeks that have large boulders in it. When the 393rl goes over and makes contact with a rock it turns into a teeter totter and is very susceptible to flipping because of the ridged floor. Wondering with the "V" hull on the EZLite if this would be better or worse?
I see there are no drain holes? Does the water get trapped in the folds when you flip it drain and you have to sop it up with towel?
Thank you.
Hi 👋 there! The EZLite is much more stable than the RazorLite. With the V floor, if you get high center on a boulder I would imagine your stability
will be greater than when you do that on the RazorLite, especially if you can position that boulder on the flat side of the V. The nice thing about the
RazorLite is you can paddle extremely effectively with no skeg, that is my favorite way to paddle the RazorLite, which makes it an awesome boat
for shallow rivers. If you are in the EZLite, I highly recommend purchasing the small skeg that Sea Eagle offers, that is the only skeg I use on the
EZLite10 and it works very well!

Say you have a boat that can go 5 mph. with a 1 mph current, you would go 6 mph downstream and 4 upstream.

I just got the Aquaglide Cirrus 110 last month, I’m sold and all in on drop stitched kayaks. This new Sea Eagle looks amazing, might be my next once I finish school and get back to work.
Hey, thank you so much for watching and commenting! You are correct, drop stitch is definitely the way to go!
