Three things I distinctly remember from this game are: 1. Fiona's Hero Time song. 2. The fact this game NAILS atmosphere, seriously from just the lighting alone, you can tell what the mood of that level is supposed to be, and how densely packed the backgrounds are with moving parts really brings the game to life. 3. The icon that appears when the camera is fixed looks like it was ripped straight out of Donkey Kong 64, and once I noticed it again, I couldn't un-notice it.

Ok no joke, this is one of my favourite games I’ve ever played almost entirely due to nostalgia. I loved playing this on my PS2 and if I got it working again I would play it again but it was a great blend of combat and adventure style gameplay for me with levels that had many different styles like the potion factory or the prison, including how the hero time segments that switched things up. It may not look that good nowadays but for little me all those years ago it was perfect....except that Puss and Boots boss fight, I sucked at rhythm games and it goes for three times and speeds up along with each character dying in like three hits!!!! Anyway thanks Rad for making this video to fuel my nostalgia, and sorry if I vented too much I just love this game. Also by the way for how pointless Little Red is in the story she is really OP from what I remember. She could hit enemies from far far away with her apples, she could jump really high being one of the only two (the other being Gingie) who can do it, her attacks were pretty strong and she could attack mid air!
Apparently there are two versions of Shrek 2 for PC. One is just called "Shrek 2" and it's different from Shrek 2 for the PS2. But then there is Shrek 2: Team Action which is a straight port of Shrek 2 for PS2... No idea why.
Yo this brought back so many memories of this game. I barely beat the Donkey and Dragon mini game. I'm pretty sure I never beat the Puss In Boots game, it was so hard for my child mind and I remember nothing after that.
I played this on the xbox, but I sympathize with you so much! The dragon level I could not finish for the life of me when I was little, so I had to of had my mom beat it for me.
Dude some of these clips unlocked long buried memories, like the Fairy's voice or seeing Gingerbread Man throw a cookie (I used that as much as I could it was fun to the dumbass that was kid me) and even the beeping of the bombs at the end, like that specific pitch and rhythm made me remember how much I sucked at that fight, loved seeing this, Incredibles, and Finding Nemo on this channel cause I played them all as a kid (and loved them like the fool I was)
I can confirm that this was my first game and I really appreciate that you put in the right sounds at the right clips... also ... the best review of this game and really brought me back to the good old days. You earned a sub

This was the game my original xbox 360 red ringed on, during the far far away escort mini game. I have a very vivid memory of my grandma comforting me as I bawled my eyes out over the death of my beloved console.
Shrek 2 still ranks as my favourite movie tie-game (yes, even over Spiderman 2) to this day and I hope to see you have as much fun with it as I did. Strange that you're playing it on the PS2 (well, emulating the PS2 version) given it's a 4 player game which is more ideal for a GameCube or Xbox (my fond memories are of plaything through this game with my 3 brothers). 1:09 - Funny enough, I think my first personally owned game was Sonic the Hedgehog 2... or was it Pokémon Red Version; one of the two. Licensed games have their allure, particularly as a kid where we don't know of their reputation. 2:21 - Hilarious reaction and all but I honestly can't recall ever noticing changes in voice actors when I was a kid. Perhaps it was just something I didn't pay attention to. 3:46 - Glad to see it being at least played in 2-player; I've noticed a surprising amount of TH-camrs who'll cover/review games without even considering the multiplayer aspect, which typically enhances most gaming experiences. 7:35 - I recall this being oddly difficult with 4 people. It's also always funny when games have to go out of their way to justify having only a certain amount of party members available. 14:38 - I... I completely forgot about Pinnochio as well. I thought Fairy was added because they didn't have anyone else (an thus the reason why she was only included in a single level), but they really could of had Pinnochio. It pleases me to see a more positive opinion of this game. It has plenty of charm and ideas with co-op being the ideal way to play indeed. The video itself was also very entertaining with numerous funny moments, and plentiful of nicely delivered and running jokes.
It thought Little Red Riding Hood’s voice sounded alot like Twilight Sparkle from My Little Pony. Looked it up and it is the same voice actor, Tara Strong.
