- Finally did it. This is a typical day in my life as a software developer as we have returned to the office. Of course, not all the days are the same but for the most part, it's fairly accurate! From meetings, designing, coding, eating, and hanging out in cool spots. So much more I felt that I could capture, but maybe that's for future content!

The best day in the life of a SWE video I've seen. Every other video is mostly just them brewing coffee, getting the free food at the office, playing with their cat etc. But your's felt like a genuine, full recording of your entire day.
Also, really aesthetic video. Clean apartment. Clean office desk setup. Clean looking matte black bike. Clean shirt. Clean haircut. Skincare? --> On point.

I've spent the last year and a half trying to become a software developer. I've spent god knows how many hours watching tutorials after tutorials, trying to learn HTML, CSS, and JS, github and git flow, trying to complete a portfolio and some projects to feature, etc.
I spent even more hours battling thru imposter syndrome, fear of failure, and wondering if I am even good enough. I am not quite sure why or what it is, but watching your video just now made me feel a little better and gave me some motivation to keep going.
Maybe its because I see you living your life in a career you love and it motivates me to accomplish and strive to do the same for myself. You seem genuinely happy with your career and life and it makes me want that for me.
I just wanted to say thank you for posting this video. As some other commentors mentioned already it was one of the best DITL SWE videos out there that shows the real DITL and not just a video bragging about work perks.
Sorry for the rant, but thank you again, Brian. You've got a new subscriber in me and I look forward to seeing more of your videos as well as using you as inspiration for my own journey.

I started coding not long ago. A lot is way above my head. But won't quit so easily. I hear programming interview is no joke.

Great video! Also can we take a second to note that the guy arrived at work at 10am, had a 15 minute breakfast, 50 minute lunch and left work at 4:30pm? That's like a 5.5h workday! Mark me down as envious haha. I'm a game developer in Sweden and we always spend 9h at work including 1h break in total for lunch. What I want to say though is, lets normalize that very few can spend 9h at work in total and be productive.. This routine looks wildly better for life balance and productivity :) Good on you!

Thanks also it’s important to note that not every day is like this for me. I specifically chose to film this day. But your very right!! After a certain amount of hours, productivity is diminished (law of diminishing returns). So it would be best to consider that into the work-day instead of an arbitrary number of hours.

I study programming here in Finland at school. This is so hard i feel like giving up. I only started learnint C as my first language and i am so fkin lost. Idk how you guys managed to get a nice office job but i am still printing hello world even after 2 months of coding. This is so hard. I don’t think most commentors know how hard programming really is. My teacher says i need to redo the whole course, because i have like 30 unfinished homework, so complex homework. It’s all weird codes and shit, i feel like quitting.
Don't be too hard on yourself, C is not an easy language to learn. Programming overall has a strong learning curve, but once you hit the inflection things just start to click!! Anything worth doing won't come easy. Best of luck 🤞💙

Almost 2nd course of c language at school ( doing this since august of 2022 ) and i've fallen behind a lot, probably not making it again, but there's always a new c course coming after one ends so i will keep studying until i make xD it's really tough, i've never coded before and i suck at math / problem solving but i just like this field so i will stick to it.
