Megan you rock!!! I learned the drop spindle from you 2 years ago and then got an Ashford spinning wheel! I eased into the spinning wheel so easily after learning the spindle from you!! I love your videos they are hilarious AND informative. I now spin and sell my yarn and I also spin exactly like your style....it’s just what I like and I also said “f you” to all the nay sayers on my technique 😂😂 so anyways thanks again dude
Just wanted to drop you a quick thanks! I'm a beginner and ive watched quite a few of these kind of videos recently. I always end up getting annoyed with other people who ramble, stray from the topic or who spend too much time on things that I think are pretty intuitive. Almost every other video I've watched has been sped up x2. I watched this one all the way through on normal speed however, and even chuckled a bit at some of your comments. I think I found the teacher for me! You're pacing is perfect and I just love your personality 💕 So thanks so much for sharing your skills with us!
Nice straight up tutorials. This is the first time I've felt motivated enough to search TH-cam to find ALL of a person's tutorials, I like your style, friendly pure and simple.
Lorelai!!! From Gilmore girls that is who you remind me of. Love your videos, I have been trying to understand the spindle for a while and you did a great job explaining it. Thanks!!😘😘
Oh my gosh. This is a great video. Its nice to know that I'm not the only one who gives a middle finger to the rules when it comes to cleaning wool, spinning, and knitting (and pretty much everything else). You're drop spindle tutorial was great too. Thank you so much! And I always say, "If it can be tripped on, fallen over, slipped on, or there is any other way to thwart my fight with gravity, it'll happen to me!"
I love your no nonsense approach to teach. I am looking for guidance on how to control the pull. I am still experiencing too much pull and have tried different approaches. i have a schacht lady bug. I have about 40 hours of experience collectively for the past 5 years. Any suggestions would be great!
This was so helpful! I'm a super new spinner and am starting with the Electric Eel Wheel Mini (after some failed dropped spindle attempts). I get what you mean about feeling the twist. Now to practice consistency :)
I like how comfortable you are with the fiber. It's like it likes to obey you. I think we're still too intimidated by it for some reason and it fights us. Our spinning comes out so thick and gnarly that you could moor a submarine with our yarn. :) Great for tying up the kids, but not so much for socks. But what do I know? I'm just the alpha male. I'm not in charge of anything with five females around me. Thank you for your time and talent and all your vids. Much respect for your personality and attitude. Had to sub just for that reason.
This is the most important video! The spinning itself was very intuitive to me, I kinda figured it out myself playing around, but I had no idea how to know when to stop twisting. Thank youu! I've been making all my own tools and I'd love to figure out how to make that.. spinny dude that has the peddle lol, if you could I'd love if you made a slow/close up video of it running :D
I was so happy to see that you had posted another video! My favorite way to spin is with my Kiwi 2 wheel, but I am curious about the spindle spinning. I've done a bit of spindle spinning but I learned with a bottom whorl spindle. I've noticed that most of the Video Podcasters that spindle spin, use a top whorl or Turkish spindle. Could you go through the different types of spindles and the pro's & con's for them? Thank you.
your videos have been very helpful, I just started using a drop spindle a couple days ago. Any tips on drafting and reconnecting when the roving pulls apart? I have big lumps where I reconnect the yarn/roving.
i like that hospital chair! is it from a psych ward or a regular hospital? some times the say the name somewhere on the chair. if it was gotten at an old old estate sale it may have been a richie smichie person that was able to afford to buy it.
I can't see it well enough to see it. If it was up to white paper maybe we could see it. Everyone does the same thing, they show you but we are lucky to see the yarn let alone the twist.
LOL!!! BOB ROSSING SPINNING!!! LOL!!! SO HOW DO YOU MAKE HAPPY LITTLE TREES WITH A SPINNING WHEEL? LOL!! you just got a random fly by sub!! yes a random guy that likes spinning wheels. the time that goes into making one! or just the thought that ent into making a replacement part in the early 1800's. found a spinning wheel from the early 1800's and ill tell ya! that ladies husband was dang good!! he made the whole dang spinning wheel! $150 for a low end knock off if what it was being sold for! the line the antique dealer told me that there are scrach mark on the bottom is how you can tell. so i looked! i then bit my tong and said ill take it! and i ran! LOL!!! i ran out of there with a guesstimate of a grand! i ended up letting an ex keep it along with a few early 1800's i stole(got them cheaper then i should have. feels like i stole them)! back to the spinning wheel- using the top of a pine tree for the peace where the yarn ends up(dont know the name of the peace)! i would have never thought of it!

YES!! This makes me so happy! I'm so glad to hear you've grown as a spinner into selling your work! That's incredibly exciting! Good work!!

I have found many informative spinning videos but one that is informative and entertaining is rare! Love your humour! Thanks for sharing!!

She does look like Lorelai.
I just found your videos to be SOOOOOOO refreshing clear yet funny! Please return🤓
On my way ;)

I love your teaching methods. I love your comments also about following the rules.
I could watch you spin all day, it's mesmerizing 😃

I hate how easy you make this look!! This video has actually really helped me! Especially with my drop spindle journey!
+Melissa C Haha! I really wish I have footage of me struggling to learn to spin to reassure everyone.
Thank you so much. I'm a new spinner and it was really helpful to see how to check if I'm overtwisting.

Since you asked, I'd have to say it's been probably 20 years since I had a Nilla Wafer. I should change that, they're goooooood.
Thank you for this moment, I learn more with you Denise-Isabelle
You are such a cute girl! You make it so easy and following your lead has proved well for me. Thank you for posting your fun videos!

I'm looking at getting a Kiwi3. Would you recommend Kiwi3 for a beginner?
Love your vids! Actually made me pick my drop spindle back up and have (mild) success. Haven’t quite nerved myself to face my wheel again yet, lol
your videos have been very helpful, I just started using a drop spindle a couple days ago.
Any tips on drafting and reconnecting when the roving pulls apart? I have big lumps where I reconnect the yarn/roving.
Can you link what spinning wheel you got? Or ithers you recommend? Thanks
You're hilarious! Love your scarf. Now teach me how to crochet
I am just starting to spin and would like to know if this is your only wheel or if you own another kind?
I seem to have problems keeping my wool on the hook, it unwinds that which I have already spun and wrapped on the stick, what am I doing wrong?
thanks for the video! I've "tried" spinning with a drop spindle...unsuccessfully...I don't think I've ever had vanilla wafers!
+Claudia Merkel I was on a Nilla Wafer kick! Reminds me of being in kindergarten.
I need to get a box next time in at the store to try them!
+should a beginner spinner start with a drop spindle before graduating to a spinning wheel?
i've been knitting a long time and want to start spinning.

Haaa whole life I want to learn Oh pretty teacher...
THANK YOU!!
Can i make a suggestion? If you're demonstrating with a dark yarn, wearing a dark sweater makes it invisible. I could only see your hands.
Yes my name is dee I would to know do u have to soak all the fiber u spin
Next video: Megan rides a bike plz
+John Mørke It can only end in blood.
What do you do when you have to much twist.
Jasey Wrenn untwist or add More unspun wool
