In Todays Video I'll be comparing every single One Of Dante's Trusty Sword Rebellion in the Devil May Cry Games to find out which entry has the best Blade by looking at all of them starting from the Devil May Cry 2's Rebellion DMC3's Rebellion Devil May Cry 4's Rebellion Devil May Cry 5's Rebellion I'll Even be Including The Devil Sword Dante Since It's The Rebellion and Sparda Combined Into One Sword to award the winning claymore with the heavy weight Greatsword Championship Tittle so I'll be judging them based on the following categories.

devil sword dante is by far the best imo like its just soooooo good it just expands what dmc3 4 did with vergil like formation swords that make the combat a lot better
DSD did add aton of quality of life Improvements to Dantes overall moveset even when you got something else equipped in DT

I love how you know the actual terminology for swords you refered to it as a claymore or zweihander while most people just call it a longsword which it is not this also goes back to your yamato video where you said things like tsuba as someone who got into hema because of dmc and zelda I appreciate this immensely

I really like the dance macabre move in dmc3. The rotation that Dante creates on the sword along with himself is wonderful and very suitable for crowd control

I miss the first DMC's focus on destroying the enemy as quickly and effectively as possible, without too much juggling around (I still love the combat from DMC 3 though).
Sometimes I still wonder what the franchise would be like if Kamiya Stuck around for all the entries gameplay and story would have flowed differently

This was such a great and interesting video, I just finished watching it all through the end and I learned a LOT of things that I didn't know about the Rebellion, expecially from DMC 2 (to be fair though I spammed guns all the time to be done with the game as fast as possible lol)...I thought dmc5's one was going to be the best since it's from the latest game, but I had no idea of all the changes and nerfs they gave it compared to the other games...Anyways, Dmc3 continues to prove that it is such an amazing game even in this category and this has me satisfied :)
I'm really happy that you got a kick out this video my dude and that I managed to shed some light on DMC2s tool kit with Rebellion it's understandable going through that game E&I only since their so OP in DMC2. With DMC5 it got nerfed on purpose to hype up The Eventual Devil Sword Dante that brought in alot of quality of life Improvements to Dantes play style but DMC3 is still the most G.O.A.Ted Rebellion

Well I know of DevilJho from Monster Hunter but before I came up with the nick name I didn't know anything about Monster Hunter Devil-Joe is more like a Nolan Batman thing When I was a kid I was afraid of Devils I got over that fear after playing DMC3 at the age of 13 the hyphen is a Spider-Man reference Joe was a nick name I hated but it grew on me when people started calling me by it more

Great video, and i agree with your choice, DMC3 Rebellion is the best. There's something about the sounds, proportions (although it's the same size as in 4 i suppose, it feels bigger fsr), and the ability to perform combo B without a transition to "million stabs" that buys me. Oh, and of course that sword-pole move, it's such a Dante thing to do, i love it. It's as rad as using a motorcycle or electric (literally, lol) guitar as a melee weapon.

As a single consolation prize to Dmc2's version, in SMT3, Dante uses his dmc2 model and thus rebellion too... and godamn he is a monster with it. Destructive melee hits, both wind and electric properties, instakill potential with stinger (because of course), and even piercing resistances with... well, pierce (at least in the remaster that came out a few years back).
Man I wanted to play SMT3 just to add Dante to my party I heard the game itself is a grate RPG
I would say the same that DMC3 Rebelion is the best BUT, you missed one thing about Devil Sword Dante. When you pressed Y or Triangle you can use Summoned Sword without Devil Trigger, and the Sword gains Range, power and crowd control automatically. So i wouldn't know if that's compensates enough to at least be the same as it was in DMC3.
Good old Sword Formations getting Dante to use summon swords no DT required while it is slightly stronger than Rebellion in DMC5 and crowd control improves quite a bit but DMC3 Rebellion was much stronger

FYI for a secret but fun af move in 4 and 5, the unholy masterpiece that is the quick drive, it's exactly what it sounds like, a drive, but fast. All you need to do is do a normal swing before immediately following up with a drive input. The only real "issue" is that you can't overdrive, though I think that's fair, imagine firing energy waves off at the rate of the shotty.
Wait with quick drive if it's mastered them I could let out a shock wave after each attack like Nero's Exceede
@Devil-Joe Only the first swipe unfortunately, but let's face it an instant Shockwave is nutty on its own.

This was a solid video, but I’m curious as to why the reboot rebellion wasn’t involved in this ranking. While not as good as 3-5 I’d argue it’s a solid interpretation of the rebellion

I’m finally able to play this game on my own time.
So far it’s amazing!
I just have trouble with my defenses but that asides I love this game! No wonder it’s the best in the series!

Yup DMC5 is a ridiculously fun game it takes some time getting used to some of the defenses but easier than getting used to it in DMC3 and 4

I discovered it completely on accident when trying to helm break some enemies.
Dante would Dante a round house-like kick when landing on the ground when pressing the primary attack button.
I’m not sure if it’s Rebellion exclusive but was it interesting and surprising when I found out about it.

I think its cooler and since the only remaining of rebellion was its hilt, this design is role accurate.

@Pooya_Krypton maybe they did redesign rebellion and sparda for DMC5 they might redesign it for DMC6 but there is a blade in monster hunter that was a direct inspiration for the DSD I found that out in this videos comment section after uploading the video

The Devil Joe, if they make a DMC 6, do you think they should do these decisions for The game?
1. Make easy and Heaven and Hell non existent
2. Make all hard difficulty options available( Normal, Hard, DMD, Hell and Hell, Legendary Dark knight) from the start.
3. Make a multiplayer game.
4. Non Dlc Content.
I think all hard difficulties should be available from the jump if any wants to play a brand new game on DMD they should go for it I don't think heavn and he'll should be axed. YES Local CO-OP and online Co-op needs to be a thing in DMC6 but if should be optional
It would be nice if DMC6 is a full game that doesn't have aton OF DLC from the jump if there'll be any DLC they should do it like how the souls games do it where the game is already massive (content wise not open world) but the DLC fills the game up with more content (more story missions no need to put in a DMC6 tie in manga)

Seeing the rebellion shatter in DMC5s opening sent shivers down my spine when I first saw it I think they should have kept Rebellions usually width and length with dmc5s rebellion while keeping the Damascus stuff on the blade

Devil Sword Dante is honestly the best form of Rebellion that we’ve been given so far design-wise since there’s so much you can do with it. Tho I personally missed its traditional longsword design.
Yup DSD granted The Wacky Woo-hoo pizza man summon swords that changed up his gameplay with the styles

I strongly disagree with the top list. The Dante sword looks like a Sparda sword rip-off, i know why it looks like that. But i much prefer the heavy metal vibes Rebellion gives. So my top 3 would be
#1: DMC4
#2: DMC3
#3: DMC5
Yup DMC5 rebellion is pretty metal but in my opinion it's a bit nerfed gameplay wise compared to DMC3 rebellion

Well DSD changed Dante's entire playstyle mainly through SDT and summon plus sword Master moves being a part of the rebellion based moveset but DMC3 Rebellion on its own with out them bells and whistles can be a pretty OP Claymore on its own

Am I wrong in believing that DMC4 has more depth to its combat than DMC3? Especially in terms of air combos and Nero's Devil Arm. Because I was playing as Vergil in DMC3 and found the moveset to be lacking compared to DMC4, where you could do a lot more with him. Especially air combos.
DMC4 is a more indepth Than DMC3 because of all them hidden mechanics but I'd argue that DMC3 has the better overall moveset and crowd control in my opinion

Dmc5 rebellion is SEXY to me. I also like the thicker design from dmc3 but i love the detail. I dont agree however with them taking away rebellion's moves to put them on the dante sword. Let the sword be the whole glorious king it always was
I agree they should kept Overdrive with Rebellion and other moves in DMC5 hell Sparda should have had some unique moves to itself really
I'm sorry, but i can't agree with you on your ranking of movesets. Devil sword dante is the best. It has everything other rebellions have and more, with some quality of life stuff and even more flexibility and usefulness due to summon swords( and the summon swords even carry over to other weapons which allow you to do even crazier stuff). I don't want to sound rude, but i just cant see how you would put dmc3 rebellion over DSD without a huge amount of bias towards dmc3. I love the video tho

I do agree that DSD offers I ton of quality of life Improvements because of sword Master moves being apart of the same moveset as the standard rebellion moves with summon swords changing Dantes entire Gameplay style however with out the summon swords the damage and crowd control of the sword on its own is kinda weak compared to DMC3's rebellion that's what I found the opinion might change in the future
@Devil-Joe If this is your perspective, then I can definitely see how you choose dmc3 rebellion. But still, I see the summon swords as part of DSD moveset, so I think that would give DSD an edge in even crowd control, but dmc3 rebellion damage is still higher and it has some cool stuff too. Anyway, I agree with you to some extent. If you're including summon swords, then I'd say DSD is arguably better, but if not, then dmc3 rebellion is definitely better

The problem with DMC2 as a whole is how it's designed as a game plus the overpowered guns and paper thin AI make you not want to experiment
DMC3 Rebellion is the best because you can penetrate 5 guys at once
You can go for more once the style meter goes up to SSStylish using million stab

I've seen some of these MODs to DMC5 where it Kept Rebellions skull and the perfect Amulet as a pommel it was a pretty RAD design

DMC3 & 4 rebelions main differences are drive and sword piercing/round trip. While dmc 3 being my favorite game I don't think that kicks after sword pierce are very useful. When I just began playing dmc3 I liked that idea and was questioning why that was deleted from 4 and 5 (5 was my first dmc) but then I realized that it is more effective to just change your weapon in most situations. Also sword piercing itself has one issue in comparison to round trip - it can't hold oponent in air.
While overdrive in 4 doesn't have any steps back in compared to 3's drive. R3belion has another problem, this time with dance macabre. If you lanch enemy in the air while still standing on ground, using prop for example, and then do dance macabre after some hits enemy will be pushed far away from you and upcoming DM attack won't hit him. This was fixed in 4 & 5.
Number one is DSD just because of 3 reasons
1) it is THE ONLY Dante's weapon in entire saga (without reboot) that has aireal rave without Sword Master
2) it has buff that exends properties of almost every D5nte's move
3) as mentioned Chaser Tech it is DSD that gives D5nte SDT ability.
I see why you wound up putting DSD in the Number 1 spot because of them summon swords and sword Master attack plus the Sweet SDT I didn't include SDT while talking about DSD because I already have a video comparing every single DT in the series
Hmm come to think of it I'm seeing where you're coming from when we're talking about sword peirce vs round trip since you can hold afew demons in the air sword peirs knocks em back

Yeah I meant that many combo makers expessialy in 4 use round trip to make enemy stay in the air while preparing another attack. It is impossible to do with sword piercing

I've always disliked the dmc5 rebellion, I always have to mod dmc4 rebellion into the game, same with yamato's ribbon, I always have it that golden yellow.
Understandable DMC4 had much more girth to it than DMC5's rebellion The Gold was a nice ribbion color for Yamato it even had dragons going through it

DMC 4 is the Best Rebellion
It's pretty solid not gonna lie
I know DMC: devil may cry is a bad game but its combat is actually good and rebellion feel good to use and the overdrive is really cinematic. I know the story is dog shit but try the combat, only reason why I play the game tbh.
Also not having a lock on sucks....
I didn't mention DmC in this video and my other videos because I'm planning on making afew separate videos on that game one for Vanilla and one for Definative Eddition I'm might make a video on why it ended up failing at some point
That's what turned off many people from the Reboot I remember the PS3 and Xbox360 versions glitching out like crazy too
@@water8974 Soulstice (2022) took some examples from DMC: DmC's combat in terms of feel from what i know, as well as DMC5 and Bayonetta. Has its issues but story and general moment-to-moment gameplay are *not* among them. Good newcomer in the genre.
And it *does* have a lock-on and seven total weapons, one of them being a flagellation whip with a grappling hook move.
