Just a reminder for people before welding on a vehicle it’s safe to unplug car battery first it can short out pcms bcms and ecms. I’ve blown airbags before and scared the **** out of me.
You might be my favorite sequoia overland/daily build. You seem to share many of the unspoken ideas rattling around in my head except you have the skill and motivation to make it happen!
Thanks for the video that's a good mod. You have really inspired me many times. I have an 06 Sequoia. I just drool over your rig man. I know all about the triangle and circle. 27 years clean myself. No matter what club member. Keep on keeping on brother and I'll keep liking and watching your videos and clicking on your links to pump your algorithm
As always, a crisp well presented video, straight to the point. I think you take the award as the "Q" of the Sequoia world. Always doing things outside of the box - love it! Looking forward to the next one!
Thanks for addressing the under the hood idea. I think I'm going to hold off on adding a second battery under my hood. I also added my air pump under the hood but it's gets extremely hot because it gets hot from the engine and then hotter from pumping the air, I think I'll consider moving everything to the back like you did. Thanks again
Yeah I had my ARB compressor under my hood at first too bc that's what people do, but it was getting unbelievably hot. After a day of offroading in the Cali summer sun that thing was hot to the touch before I even turned it on. I was blowing 40 amp fuses so I decided to move it into the cab and I haven't had a problem since. Thanks for commenting!
Nice setup. I'm putting in a 1200 watt pure sine converter, in my 1st Gen Sequoia. I have a 70 amp hour starter battery. Lithium titanium oxide. These lithium titanium oxide batteries can handle minus 34° f and up to 164° f. So we'll work under the hood. For the power source. Runs on 14 volts. Pretty much perfect for the Sequoia.
Another great video brother! I always love it when someone says “ they don’t make that for my application the way I would like it” or they do but “How much do they want for that? F it I’ll build it myself” I just moved the traillimo from its 6 month storage to my friends house this last weekend …new rear axle going in this weekend and then I’ll be starting the rebuild and rework of everything over the following weeks… hopefully soon I can run it out to cali for a get together..fingers crossed lol
The trail limo I love it! Bro my wife and I have 4 kids so the Seq has been great for long family campouts. Then we added a Husky (as you know) and it's been a little tight but still doable. Well now we're having our first child together feb 2023 and I'm not sure the ol' tree will be big enough anymore. I know it's an eight seater but we only use one 3rd row seat bc we stuff all the camping gear in the back.... Toyota doesn't make an equivalent to the Ford Excursion, and I really don't want to buy a van....looks like it may be time for a trailer???
@@treehouseoffroad overland trailer for sure…congrats on the new addition to your clan we travel with three boys a husky and a cat so I know how it all goes I even built an excursion back in the day but the sequoia is the better all rounded vehicle hands down
@@theclan4adventures Thanks, people think we're crazy for having another (on purpose) but we're excited. Excursions are stupid expensive right now too, especially for the big diesel which is the one I'd want. I've heard the other models are under-powered.
@@treehouseoffroad the v10 is plenty I had both a v10 and a built 7.3. Thanks good question...I have a plastic group 24 battery box that I originally planned on using. It was too bulky and odd-shaped, so I ended up calling Battleborn and asking them if I'd be alright just running the battery alone
Hey appreciate it man. I tried doing the re-gear/locker install and ended up needing the help of a professional lol. I had like 20 hours into the front diff and 15 into the rear and got pretty close, but "pretty close" doesn't cut it when setting up a differential lol. I had to admit I was in over my head and hand them off to someone with a higher pay grade. I got a ton of footage that I'll probably use when I make a second part to the walk-around video. Thanks for asking!
@@treehouseoffroad Ill be on the lookout. Im looking at doing some locker work on my Tree next spring. Ill probably end up paying someone to do it too though lol. Some things are better left to the professionals.
thought about that, but i want to keep stock spare location, thought about putting spare on roof, but then why not just put battery in box up there. cant decide...
Put it under the hood! There are plenty of companies that make kits and there's a lot of empty room under the hood of a Sequoia, especially if you get rid of the stock air box and replace it with a cold air intake.
I did the FJ swap yes, it's great. My original plan was also to try and do a manual conversion on that case but it's definitely a challenging idea. It could definitely be done but I just don't have the time to dedicate to it right now
@@treehouseoffroad I have not been able to find a decent priced FJ case, so I am doing triple stick cable actuated setup. So far the engineering hasn't been difficult at all. going to use JB Custom Fabrications flush mount kit and cables. I'll have to let everyone know how it goes since I have not found anything like it online thus far....
@@treehouseoffroad shouldn’t have to remove the case. Just the actuator. The ends of the shift rods are easy to access when the plastic actuator housing has been removed.
@@TruckMelanoma Haha 😂 I know about that all too well, My actuator snapped off exposing the shift rods. I was just thinking it'd be a lot easier to work on it if it was removed. Good luck man keep me updated

🙏 Appreciate that 🙏

Of course Bro!
