What bumper is that?
By far the best video I’ve seen in a while. Awesome build.. reminded me of the many times I’ve wanted to quit a project just to smile when out in the trails telling myself breaking it and rebuilding it was all worth it
Thanks man I totally agree
Nice sequoia man👍
Thanks man
Did the wheel speed sensor work ? Thinking it’s a bigger axle so the tone ring is bigger also
I did not bother with the speed sensors as I haven't used ABS in a while
I’ve got a 05 sequoia for a Highschool car, it’s bare bones but I would love to set mine up similar to yours. What bumper and roof rack are you running? Coastal off-road and gobi rack?
Costal Offroad and Sherpa!
I was watching this and thinking, he is going to regret this… and then I saw the ending. Haha
Haha I still regret it...this ARB install is testing my patience. Might be above my pay grade, we'll see
After watching the entire thing and the way that it worked out, you put a lot of thought into it. I'm curious if it ever crossed your mind. Two lower the subframe area that all of the ifs bolts to, to make room for the center carrier And if you have any input on why, that would be a bad idea from the way that you went about that, I'd love to hear it, i've been pondering, i'm building an ifs, set up myself. And this hits a lot of spots that I would like to shoot for!! Cheers man!!!
Yes, a drop bracket style build was my plan initially. I decided against it because I wanted all the ground clearance I could get. One thing I've noticed that all the drop bracket trucks have in common is horrendously low ground clearance. By doing it this way and moving the hub location on my spindles up a little, I'm able to keep my CV angles in check while still having a decent down travel. The limiting factor for my front setup is the upper ball joints and the tie rods at this point. Great question
What upper shock mount is in the rear?
He fabbed them out of 1.5in dom
Well...after seeing the rear axle conversion...i had to start from the beginning...thank you for making me loosing hours and hours of sleep😂😂😂
You're very welcome Sir!
I can't imagine how much a shop would charge for this kind of work
The number would be large and I feel like they would have your vehicle indefinitely
Sounds like that you know what you are saying but at min 5...I got Lost ...I love the technical point of view...but I have so much to learn...it's 6 am in London and I'm completely devouring your videos...
I have learned a lot from watching videos and reading forum posts man, you'll get there. I'm definitely learned the most by just trying stuff though
Your truck is my inspiration...only thing being European...if I ever be able to move to America will be a diesel conversion to a mercedes OM606 ...I can't imagine how much fuel that truck is consuming 😂😂😂
I used to keep track of the MPGs but not anymore....
Nice ! Any torque loss with these short tube headers ?
Judging from my butt dyno I gained power. But I also removed both catalytic converters and increased the diameter of the exhaust pipe throughout
Great video ❤❤❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome, I'm doing a 2500 ifs swap on my 1500 gmc because I want to go IFS with this one. I've don't many many SAS in jeeps and toys, just want to do something different. So I totally get why you would take this on. As you put miles on it, just be sure to check those welds on the cast parts regularly. For what you are doing it will probably hold up for a long time.
Sounds awesome man Good luck with your project. And checking the welds is very good advice that I plan to follow, thank you
These trucks are worthy of all that work. I've done mine out differently but effectively. I like what you've done with it.
Thanks for commenting
Inspiring....lmk when you have that 1st gen lift kit available in the market. Total Chaos is just too high on prices rn 😂
Haha you got it man
This is definitely a weak link. You can hear all the old sequoia front diffs ticking away or clanking away as they offroad the mudpit where I live. But this motor they developed is a beast. Sometimes I think when I start her up. This engine shouldn't still be going😂
Yeah dude this thing is so reliable. The 4.7 is a work of art
Think we have the same fleet
This was a customer's truck, I wish it was mine. Cleanest Toyota we've ever worked on
Why not just run a grizzly locker that doesn't require air or switch to turn on
That’s what I was thinking lol
Don't think there is a grizzly for that Toyota diff.
Bro you had me for a second, I was like nooooooo!!!! Then you pulled out the ARB at the end 😅
@@tj_offroad yukon sale some too
@tj_offroad if that's a 8.4 diff yukon dura grip at yotashop
😂😂
I like what I like, what can I say...
Going to use these products to redo my rusted out exhaust
Awesome man you can't beat the prices
Currently sourcing parts for my 1st generation sequoia, Toyota for life.
That's right man! Good luck on your build
@treehouseoffroad already solid axle swap on a 94. Stepping it up on this one.
Turning a $5,000 sequoia and turning into a $90,000 work of Mad Max Art!!! Love it dude
Hell yeah thank you brother
Any issues with your awd system ?
I actually swapped in a manual FJ cruiser transfer case, but prior to that yes I had issues. The truck was stuck in 4WD and I had to have my transfer case actuator replaced.
Greetings. What front caliper do you use?
Greetings, front calipers were from a 2011 Tundra
That was a fuck ton of work. That was a serious undertaking.
It sure was man thanks for checking it out
3 inch rear spacer to?
That is correct
Forgive the non-related question....desperate to find answer: Do you know which fuse is tied to the O2 sensors? Thank you!
I don't
this is why i didn't get a sequoia and ended up with a ZJ, I have zero skill to make something badass like this. But i do love seeing it. you don't see much sequoia's wheeling.
You really don't but I'm starting to see more and more
Pretty cool & a clever uncommon project. I wouldve went solid axle overall
I hear ya brother I think a lot of people would have. Thanks for commenting
@treehouseoffroad Still awesome for a sequoia, let alone a odd rarity type ride of the toyota family
Really cool bro. Great job
Thanks a lot!
Bro you are a machine. Mad props 💯
Appreciate that!
ho...ly...shiit lol. thats dedication. awesome video!!!
I'm nothing if not dedicated....my wife might say a little too dedicated
Awesome video bro keep the videos coming
I appreciate it I sure willl
You do some amazing work. I enjoyed watching.
Thank you brother, I been watching your channel for years!
real genius
🌲🌲🌲
Indeed my friend, indeed
trail shake down video follow up lol
There's some shakedown footage at the end
Well yes 33 is as big as you want with a 7.5 !!! So how much bigger were the AXLES over a 7.5? I run the TRACK MOTIVE AXLES They give me over 47% of axle TWIST or ANGLE But Im still on 33s and dont see any reason to go bigger !!! ITS NOT A ROCK BOUNCER ITS A VACATION MACHINE !!!!
The video shows the axles side by side. Track motives are fine for "soft roading" in your vacation machine if that's what you're into 😂
@@treehouseoffroad SOFT ROADING LMAO FUNNY But my 2nd gen is PRETTY DAMN GOOD No need to RIP IT apart in the rocks I just drive it easy 5 29 gears LOCKERS both ends RCI ARMOR under it But hey Im only 67 I still learn ! But ya know we dont have any tough trails here in COLORADOSTAN For my engagement fork I used a HOSE CLAMP to hold the fork in place been in there for 15 years !
@HOTRODMONZA Haha sounds like a beast! Good to know you've been running your ADD engaged for 15 years, gives me hope Genuine question: why do you use all caps for SOME OF YOUR WORDS and not others
This is the best video of 2024
Wow thats high praise brother thank you 🙏🏻 Your channel is cool I subscribed 🤙
Wow man, so much work involved. I'm sure you have lots of satisfaction from the fruit of your labor. Great video.
Very satisfying, it took a while to set in but I'm loving it! Thanks for commenting 🤙
Dude, this is absolutely incredible! I have been a lurker on the channel for a long time but this is just next level! Well done on all the hard work and the DIY! Absolutely love this! How is her road manners in terms of comfort and noise? Only crit I would have is to lower the music volume a little with your voice over. Struggle to hear some of what you have to say :)
A lurker huh? Well I hope I earned a subscribe outta ya! Road manners are fine I think, but I've been driving it for a long time without sway bars so I think I'm used to it. The front diff didn't add you>I>iii derogatory driving behavior. It's a noisy truck and I LOVE IT
Amazing work! This is what all pro should have done with their modular long travel kit they made for the 2nd/3rd gen Tacoma. Tundra front diff FTMFW!!!
I agree, It would be great packaged together with a long travel kit. I wonder how much interest there would be, the price would be up there
That’s pure dedication! Especially fabricating with an angle grinder !
Thanks I like to think of it as "paying my dues." We'll get a plasma table in there someday soon 🤞🏼
My problem is that I am to psychotic to just use a hand band saw and drill a hole through things by hand without knowing the hole is perfectly straight to be able to do shit like this 🤣 For me to be ok with it I at least need a Haas 5 axis CNC machine to machine the body mount spacers.
Damn you FANCY
From one fabricator to another. What people don't see is the commitment to take things in and out so many times. Whether it's a motor build, to any swap... also when making a first piece to get to the final piece, man I feel ya. When building something there's this suck/pain and time of building, why do we subject ourselves to this, all for the love of creating something to use. I want to upgrade my Titan front diff and gonna think about going this route. Thanks for sharing the blood, sweat, time, and budget minded build. Hope to see bump in to you out there, From the Green sticker and plated Titan.
You nailed it brother. If I was to share all the suck that came with this project, the video would have a completely different tone. I might make a part 2 detailing all the problems and roadblocks and stalls that didn't make it into this video. As far as why we do it....you got me. When I finish a project of this scale I don't even want to look at a grinder, welder, or wrench for weeks. But then I get the calling, like a sirens sweet song and end up doing it over and over again. I hear child birth is excruciatingly painful but some women have 10 kids 🤷🏼♂️
Amazing build! And great video.
Thanks for the good vibes man 😊
I HAVE stock SUSPENSION STILL. This was inspiring video! Wow! I need to make a decision on my SUSPENSION setup build to go with! All your build videos are great sources of information!
Happy to help Man, your channel is cool I subscribed. Good luck with it, it's been a lot of fun for me
Truly impressed brother awesome video and content keep up the good work🤙🏽🇨🇦
Right on bro thanks!
